Hasn't drag racing changed since then! The dragster driver wasn't even wearing gloves! Dragsters being built in a small suburban workshop (then) compared to the big $$$ race team headquarters of today!

Twisted lifter...that's BS. No such thing.
A roller lifter has to remain aligned with the camshaft lobes. If it rotates in its bore that's a twisted lifter.
