    4 strokes are the ideal future for karting. They are more representative of the powerbands that drivers will eventually encounter in cars. They emit a fraction of the emissions of a 2 stroke. They have significantly better engine longevity. And, they lose significantly less power over the life of the engine (due to maintaining more consistent compression). It's the best alternative to electric karting that we have.

      But 2 strokes are a lot faster

    Very cool idea I'm an old go. Kart Racer from Canada started racing in 1992 and stopped in 2013 . In Canada we used to raise the Honda GX160 engines. I have raised the Yamaha Kt100 and even 🏁 raced 125 moto shifter and the tag class. Thanks for the video very informative.

    I get that when you said that the ID senior was a little underwhelming, you mentioned that Rotax and ID senior are different, but I just have to throw in my two cents, you should cut ID a bit of slack when coming from Rotax since you are going from a 2 stroke to a 4 stroke, and comparing them without accounting for that difference is sort of comparing apples to oranges.

    Hi, great channel 👍. How does the 24hp ID Senior compare with a T4 Tillotson on track ? You have videos driving both karts. I'm interested in karting again with reasonable costs. My background was 100cc (18 to 20hp 18,000rpm +) early 1990s. No karting for the last 30 years, but now I want to race again.

    • @RedExions

      Hi, definitely go with T4. ID is only available in the Netherlands and I believe T4 is a more future proof concept

    Is it true? These Karts cost nothing to race them? Sounds too good to be xD
    Karting and Motorsports in general is so expensive it killed off my dream from a young age. I think for the future if karting and Motorsport was more accessible to the common wealth, more talented drivers would make it to the top

    • @RedExions
      @RedExions  ปีที่แล้ว

    If you are overweight at 170kgs + what weight does the driver need to be with race clothes and helmet ?
    When I raced in 1990s 100cc it was 160kg total with driver weight around 75kg. So Kart & engine were around 80 to 82kg fuel was also a few kgs. 75kgs for driver was with your boots & helmet included. So I was a starving hungry 72 to 73kgs just to be close to minimum weight.

    In my opinion, a kart should always have a 2-stroke engine. 4-stroke engines have always failed - see Biland & Vampire.
    I've been racing karts for 26 years and stick with the 100cc class.

    • @flyingphoenix113
      @flyingphoenix113 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If karting stays with 2 strokes, it will die. The rampant oil consumption and terrible emissions are going to increasingly come under fire (as they have in California in America). 4 strokes also have a more representative powerband of what junior drivers will encounter in cars. I started with air cooled Yamaha KT100s, but the days of 2 strokes are limited. The sooner we embrace 4 strokes, the longer we hold off awful electric karts.

  • @rudyfarkas5461
    @rudyfarkas5461 ปีที่แล้ว

    Biland had a nice 4 stroke and didnt win the karters
