I'm a fan right now for a couple of months of your channel. It always moves my heart to see the love for the meat that is been putting into. I love your ideas and get a little more creative with it myself i dont have the equipment myself to experiment with but i love the challenge 🍻 cheers everybody from the Netherlands
At first, I was like 'who needs this fancy contraption to cook a steak?' But then, after one bite of a perfectly cooked sous vide steak, I can't stop... It's like the steak gods themselves have blessed my taste buds with every bite. Been doing it now for 10 years
I'm about 4 years in now on sous vide thanks to Guga's videos. Yeah nothing beats sous vide for perfectly cooked medium rare steaks every time that's for sure 👍 .. for my girlfriend though, I cheat and microwave her steaks afterwards for a minute per steak since she likes hers more medium well. I only have one circulator so no one judge lol😁
My girlfriend got me a whole setup a few years back. Every single time I make steaks with it, they're incredible. The salt penetrates completely, and the juiciness and tenderness are unparalleled. It truly is a game-changer and worth the cost of the equipment without a doubt.
Man... after learning so much from you Guga, i would absolutely crush all the competition. but being invited to cook at your place? that would be the day... awesome video! keep it up!
Great episode guys! I am officially calling Angel out, let’s go! Guga introduced me to the art of Sous Vide a few years back and I have been hooked since. Looking forward to the opportunity.
This seems like the start of a great ongoing series! While being very entertaining, I think it will continue to produce some great tips and reminders, like the seasoning tip.
I'm glad to see Angel and Leo getting a chance to show what they've been taught! Angel's great with steaks because he's always around steaks I'm surprised he used greenery for presentation, Leo's great with side dishes because he'd never disrespect a side dish always wanting to chow down! Mad props to both of them for being in an environment they're not normally used to.
This is a great learning experience for Leo and Angel. It shows that just watching on the sidelines can be a far cry from actually cooking. Being one of the original Guga fans, I absolutely LOVE this video. The Sous vide mashed potato part was epic….lol
What a dream it would be to go cook with you! Have been watching for a few years now and haven’t missed a single video on either channel! You’ve brought my cooking from simple and easy to fun and complex, along with just tasting a lot better. Great video, that dark bacon hurt my soul, but what a fun challenge!
Hey Guga! I've been a fan of your channel for years and I'm constantly blown away by the creative and delicious meals you come up with. Your passion for cooking and dedication to your craft is truly inspiring, and I've learned so much from your videos. It would be an absolute dream come true to have the opportunity to cook alongside you and learn from the master himself. Keep up the amazing work, and I can't wait to see what deliciousness you come up with next!
I was top fan on facebook for a long time. Ive since stopped using fb so im watching all your episodes on youtube. Love the work, videos and im dying for the food.
This is probably one of my favorite videos of yours to date. Such a funny change of pace seeing those two try and work with the roles reversed. I think my only recomendation would be to record Angel and Leo's reactions to your critiques. I could see that being pretty hilarious lol Love it, as always Guga
I'm in! I love how Leo and Angel both made a great go of it even though they were untested with the cooking methods. It could have gone way worse. They rock! Love the channel and the team. Keep up the awesome work!
I feel like Angel is going to win this competition, since he's very simplistic in both his taste-descriptions as well as how he approaches everything. Leo has the natural tendency to overcomplicate everything, and in that he's going to set himself up for failure 😅😅
Hey Guga, thanks for your great videos. After watching your videos, I have three requests for future videos: - Please try some other cattle breeds than wagyu and American beef. - How do you clean all your pans and other cooking ustensils so they continue to be so shiny ? - Please cook a foie gras in a terrine using sous vide. And yes I'll repeat those requests often. ;)
Guga, @SousVideEverything Legend says that if you listen closely, you can hear the tender whimpers of Angel's steak as it yearns for my sous vide skills. Like if you want to give that steak what it deserves!
That's a shame for Leo. For him to be the salt guy and not use a lot of it 😔, that hurts to see. Unseasoned (will never forget it). Love the video as always😍
🤣 How many times has Guga repeated in all his videos to go a little heavy and properly season your steaks Leo, you were so close especially with those great looking side dishes. Cheers to all and congrats to you Angel for bringing home the W 🎉
I'm gonna be honest. Throwing anyone a wagyu picanha is going to be very different than a choice ribeye or strip. I think they both learned from their experience. I'm not surprised Leo was seasoning shy because he's always the first to pick up on subtle flavors. He's a sensitive flower. 😂
@@FunniesRS Yeah thats what I mean. He didnt season to taste because he assumed it would be too much so he underestimated how much was actually needed.
having stumbled on the channel like maybe 2 years back? my steaks have never been the same 😍 Thank you Guga for opening my eyes to how things should be done
Congratulations to both Angel and Leo!! Next challenge for the team is their own dry age creations, supervised by Guga for safety purposes. I have enjoyed watching all the experiments the team has done. Many of the dishes have landed on my list to try, and am confident more will be added with each new video. Thank you for the inspiration Guga!!
Looks like Angel's is going to be way better, and it looks like Leo doesn't even watch the videos! I'm almost thinking this is an act to show what not to do. But it still looks like Leo's steak is going to be pretty decent edit: maybe the flavor was a bit off but both sides looked absolutely delicious on camera. Who would have thought Leo would go too light on the salt?
Its like this thing where you have an olympian as a reference and having regular people like us try to achieve their level of expertise. Its good perspective.
I don't know if you would consider as it may be a "plan" taste to you or maybe just not enough. But a personal basic favorite is a seasoning mix called spike. I love the flavor of it and would be interested if you enjoyed it as well in some of your steaks. May not be the most interesting video I understand, but I am curious. Another great seasoning I love comes from Sweden called őrte salt. I believe that's how it's spelled but just some ideas.
Join me on my first book tour! I'll be in linktr.ee/gugafoodstour See you there!
What if I told you that I live 10 minutes away from your PO Box? 🤔🤔🤔
When's Europe added to that list? :D
INVITE MEEEE!! @sousvideeverything
@@BFP5025me too haha
Do you also salt the steak after the sous vide during the charring process? I'm always confused on what to do there and don't want to over salt.
This needs to be a whole series. Leo vs Angel, with a different dish/theme each time would be a great watch.
Seconding this! I'd love to see how competitive these guys get
Third this for sure
Yup!
Genius !
Must do
Leo and Angel are killing it on the channels. So lucky to have them in your life, and videos.
leo sucks
That was interesting 😂
The look of confidence from Angel and Leo's uncertainty about how to sous vide gave me my winner right away.

One would think after watching Guga for ages, these two would have picked up some cooking tips.🤣 Fun, funny, and a nice change. Good job gents!!!
I know right?! 🤣🤣🤣

This was a great role reversal video, we definitely need more of these!!
These challenge videos are a nice change from the normal experiments. Very entertaining.
Fun to see how much they have and haven't learned over the years. It would be great to see more of these down the road!
I so want my husband to compete against Angel! Please 🙏
Oh please make this a continuing thing. Head to head competitions with Guga as the judge. Love it!
This was brutal. Next thing you know, someone will get kicked off the island.
Guga will be new Gordon Ramsay but nicer
yes, love the format lol
This was a nice twist of an episode! Good job Angel & Leo! Hope to see you two compete more in the future.
I love this type of content. Guga is the unreserved master of steak. Show us more of some of the common pitfalls with sous vide. ❤
Great episode guys! I am officially calling Angel out, let’s go!

Love you guys! Every Guga/SVE video is a straight banger! Well done!
they did way better then i expected. you need to do this more , or have leo and angel team up vs nick.
Guga, Your book just came in yesterday. Very well done. So excited for it.
I think more of these videos with different challenges would be great. Angel and Leo could learn a lot.
I agree. This was fun and a great starting point to reference.
This was great watching them compete. I was surprised how much they did and didn’t pick up from watching you over the years.
I think Angel has the steak part on lock and Leo has the side dish on lock
I just love how professional Guga is when he explains what Leo did wrong lol
I would love to see more content like this! Enjoyed every second of it!
This video was a hilarious watch. The family comradery is what makes all of Guga's content superb.
"Well-done" by both Angel and Leo! That was a lot of fun to watch. I've never seen so much green on a dish that Angel's hands have touched!
Don't you mean medium rare?
pun
I feel like using “well done” as a pun on a guga video is enough to send a person to jail lol
I really enjoyed seeing them compete against each other. Would love to see them make more dishes!
Would love to see more of these videos, it was fun!
The fact that leo who loves that little extra saltiness on a steak lost because of not adding too much salt still gets me😂.
He’s also an over thinker so he was probably 20 levels deep into thinking “I like things very salty, I probably better cut back.” 😂
@@paulblum4369 that's probably what happened
He didn’t taste his own food
The "Saline Savant", the "Salt Savage" has failed his legacy! LOL!
P.S. I really want to battle Angel in the steak challenge!!!
@@GarytheYeti rookie mistake!
Angel is like the Jesse to Guga's Walt. He's watched Guga cook steak so much over the years that he just naturally absorbed some ability.
Leo just went from being the "description guy" straight to the "unseasoned description guy" 😁
Congrats to Angel!
I love the personality that goes into each dish!!!!
Nice to see the boys cooking this time, and in a challenge to boot! Great video Guga

A combo of Angel doing steaks and Leo doing sides would be a good challenge for Guga.
Love you Guga! Been following the channel for years.
Would love to see more cooking challenges and experiments from Leo and Angel!
It would've been cool to have Angel and Leo there while their dishes were judged to see their reactions, and when the winner is announced.
The presentations actually looked really appetizing. Really fun episode to watch lol
This is a great learning experience for Leo and Angel. It shows that just watching on the sidelines can be a far cry from actually cooking.

I'd like to see them do this again with what they've learned from this competition. I was pulling for Leo, but lack of seasoning is tough.

Great video, that dark bacon hurt my soul, but what a fun challenge!
Yeah I used to cook my bacon extra crispy but I must of been good since that dish won
Just got Guga’s cook book. Super excited to use it and learn a lot of the recipes

It would be too much fun and an honor to cook on the channel! I dry aged my first picanha because of you GUGA! Great episode
You are the one reason that I feel comfortable with cooking steak! You got me into Sous Vide and have loved it ever since!
Definitely would’ve loved to see Angel and Leo’s reactions to everyone tasting their meals. Hard to believe Leo who loves salt was light handed!
Not that surprising most people don’t realize the amount of salt you’re supposed to put on
