Hippotherapy is a Greek term meaning 'treatment with the help of a horse'. It improves balance, posture, mobility and function.
Peggy Curran is a Physical Therapist and is Certified in Hippotherapy. She works with 8 year old Samantha who has Cerebral Palsy.
Therapy takes place at Butterfly Dreams Farm in Watkinsville, GA. This video report introduces you to Samantha and takes a look at the benefits of Hippotherapy.

This is good for the older pony too! Awesome!
@videolver2 you'd have to find a place in your area and ask cause it depends on who they help some help the special needs
I actually volunteer at a therapeutic riding center for the special needs and I've found it helps me a lot with my stress and sometimes even my insomnia
Our program uses horses and ponies depending on the needs of the riders. Our tallest horse is 16 hands and our smallest ride able horse is 12 hands
can this also help kids with childhood arthritis? I had that kind of arthritis when I was little.
My child is 4 years old. How many sessions of horseradish therapy does he need per week?
What levels of CP is this useful for?
Like Class 8 wont benefit as much as class 3 no?
So why not call it equine therapy? No hippos involved
