Nice DIY project! You did great! Cutting at an angle is always hard. We usually don't notice 1 degree off, and then it creates a bit problem at the other side. Turned out good! Keep up the good work! And you look and speak really nice too! Pleasure to watch!

I brought my cordless miter saw to Home Depot to cut 2" x 10" x 16' boards because they claimed their board cutting machine was out of order. Got a few stares that day. Lol. I'm afraid of the circular saw though. :)
When you use your fireplace how do you keep that white clean? Is it a real fireplace or electric? Looks nice by the way. I want to do around my whole fireplace though . Is that possible?

It's a gas fireplace so it doesn't change the color of it at all.
What paint color are your walls?
usually they WILL cut it for you if you ask ... ive had them cut boards for me for free before
I did ask at two Home Depots and they said they wouldn't
