At the beginning of the video in the back of the shot theres vertical batons fixed to the structure of the home, how are they fixed? I'm assuming they're nailed/screwed on, does that not affect the membranes performance?

i don't understand why you would want an air tight house. Surely you will have issues with condensation build up leading to damp. Moisture needs to escape. I can only see this leading to bad air and health problems.

An air-tight house MUST have a MVHR unit, or a similar type of ventilation system, to ensure old, moist, stale air is replaced with fresh, clean, dry air. No architects or builders would allow an air-tight house to be built without such a system in the UK. Watch Charlie's video on MVHR to learn more.

@@HomebuildingMagazine thanks, lll have a look at the other video. I had a PIV system installed last year and it cleared up my condensation issues with a day.

Hi, interesting video. If I was to airtight a room that has a vent in the chimney breast as well as a high level air brick to vent a room how would I go about this? Obviously it wouldn’t be airtight but would be vented at the same time?
      Thanks
