From the African Home Disciplinary Committee. 1️⃣ Never run away from a beating! Me an Indian completely relating to those aunties who always snitch on you even though you were just talking to a guy friend about your projects and they go to your parents to complain....Man these people really don’t know how to mind their own business ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°)
Lol the ones that will talk and talk but will not do anything😂😂 my favorite ones are those that will stop the beating and take you to their house then give you biscuits. But your mom will then beat you cos of the biscuits when you come back home
I am Indian, and this is so relatable that I am almost a little less embarrassed to accept that I have been on the receiving end of some "slippers". HAHA
@@jullietmburu9672 same. Like they were still in use as 'slippers' but since they were made of pretty light foam like material, so they made a loud noise when hit but won't hurt. Eventually they became my mother's go to weapon 😅
I used to get slippers, belt and big fat sticks to hit me. Most of them was a mighty slap and her almighty belt. These are the things I went through childhood. My younger sibling would get away with everything. My younger bro used to break antic furniture and blame it on me. That's how I used to get beating with these 3 weapons above. Just long lost memories 🤣
To everyone venting their childhood trauma here, just remember that the cycle can stop with you. My mother was horrible with her punishments and instead of keeping that negative mental health mindset she has I got help from many councilors and I do not treat my kids as she did. I lecture and try to use self awareness and questioning our own behavior because we should as it's nicer to live in a kind safe environment, we should not be nice to each other because we are afraid of what will happen if we aren't. Some people think you have to slap or use physical punishment but for me it's traumatic. Here in India people hit their kids a lot and comedian people often joke about it but I hope it can change everywhere because really beatings don't do anything but terrorize kids. Anyway. I hope everybody is ok and I wish all the best 🙌🥰
I disagree. Physical punishment can be really helpful. Now it becomes traumatic when done overboard like most things. I say this as a person on the receiving end of some beatings when I was little. My parents always explained to me why I was going to get an ass whopping and they always brought their game, but they never overdid it. Looking back at some of the shit I got myself into and got whopped for it, I truly appreciate it. Not really the whoppings but the effects of them. How it steered me away from some destructive habits/behaviours, and how it forced me to pick up ones that help my career even to today.

I was supposed to grind beans for moi moi, I went to the boys house with the beans. Well guys, my mom is a Nigerian mom. She made good her threat. Locked the door with just me and her, the neighbors begged and begged from the window, to no avail. She beat the boy loving devils out of me that day. @@fia894 it is a way of discipline but still it’s very abusive there is stuff that are parent do or did that we thought were perfectly normal which aren’t actually normal. My mom used to hit us with different objects, belts, brushes, and mostly her hand, I thought that was normal and even healthy. For awhile my mom was in rehab for drug use and I had to raise my little brother, I hit him a lot and I struggle to not hit him when he does something bad (or mothering him in general) This also can affect a child my sister disregards rules because she moved in with my grandparents when she was about 12. My grandparents never hit her like my mom and so she stoped following rules due to the fact she was used to being hit from the age of 3-12. I on the other hand haven’t been hit as much because I’m a very anxious person and very careful. I saw my sister get hit so I always apologized for everything and I’m quite paranoid because of how my mom would treat my sister so I always act as perfect as possible. The way are parents treat us really effects how we are and hitting your children shows those negative emotions
@@Vrarqs you might have different opinions, but beating actually helped kr I'd be a brat right now, but it really depends on why your mom is beating you, beating you for simple things or little accidents is not right at all, but if your getting beaten because you made a huge mistake and your not admitting it at all, then you deserve to be beaten

From the African Home Disciplinary Committee.
1️⃣ Never run away from a beating! Where would you sleep?
2️⃣ Never scream when being beaten; African mom's will beat you till you can't cry
3️⃣ If a neighbor whoops your ass never report to your family, chances are you will get a second whooping
4️⃣ When your mother threatens to tell your father apologize immediately
5️⃣ You NEVER HIT BACK or else funeral arrangements will be made the next day
6️⃣ Always have a favorite uncle/ aunt who will bail you out ...

@@jullietmburu9672 same. Like they were still in use as 'slippers' but since they were made of pretty light foam like material, so they made a loud noise when hit but won't hurt. Eventually they became my mother's go to weapon 😅
Thought the slippers was only an African thing. Wow
I used to get slippers, belt and big fat sticks to hit me. Most of them was a mighty slap and her almighty belt. These are the things I went through childhood. “If I run with you, if I run with you.. THATS THE END..”
I feel this.

@@fia894 It may be 'normal' in some places, but it shouldn't be. This isn't right.
