I'll be honest, I grew up fishing the amazing waters of south Louisiana and Mississippi. I've fished from everything from tuna to gator specs to gator gar. I stopped fishing when I was around 15 and got into music and skating and girls. About a year ago I was bored and in a bad spot, my girlfriend(fiancé now and expecting a baby boy) and I werent making the best decisions. I was drinking too much and not exactly being responsible, and one day I was low on cash and feeling crappy and decided to ask an uncle to borrow a pole and go fish. I went to the local pier in Biloxi and caught some hard heads, then hooked onto a nice black drum that broke me off. I went home and was still feeling crappy from not having my drinking fix so I decided to look up some fishing videos because that was the most alive i felt without a drink in a long time, keep in mind I was only 24 at the time. I saw your videos and decided to binge on those instead of alcohol, and throughout the next year I got my angling skills back, my family back, and the respect of my friends back. I now have more confidence than ever in fishing, can actually handle a drink without wanting a dozen, and have a baby boy due in January. Fishing pretty much saved me a lot harder road to redemption than it could have been. Marty, you actually helped a lot in that. I watch shows now, like addictive fishing, the matrix shad blog(I'm from south ms and la, of course I do), and multiple others but they wouldn't have made sense to me then. When I was a kid I was having my hooks baited and my rigs set for me. When I found your videos I saw someone that started pretty green and ran with it. I now kayak fish at the triple rigs in Mississippi, inshore, and in the bayous. I've won multiple inshore tournaments and I'm on my way to grabbing my charter license. I can honestly say that your channel had a ton to do with that. And hey, that's what this is all about! I hold the same importance as a 15 year old needing to know how to bait a live shrimp, it's a means to an end(Hopefully a nice Mississippi trout limit end). I realized how much I actually still value your videos when I checked multiple times a day for this day two of your ride. Not because I own a boat myself, but because I have an attachment to your videos after all of this. That, my friend, is something that you should be proud you offer the world. If you ever feel like fishing these crazy funky waters of the Biloxi marsh, feel free to hit me up. Your a blessing to more people than you know in more ways than you know, and fishing is the reason of it all!Tight lines, -Derek Edwards
We all struggle a little bit on our paths, Derek. It's nice to know that I've helped some folks on theirs. Comments like this helps me on mine. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
It doesn't matter if it's dyi, fishing, Icast, boat updates, dogs, or just sittin around talking I really enjoy your videos Marty. Thanks for making them,
Marty your videos just keep getting better and better! You have developed a calm and confident style that people really enjoy. You have the heart of an artist and the soul of a fisherman. Most people hunt their whole life and never realize what you have found....your unrecognized talent, your inborne ability, your chhupa rustam! Very nice! Please keep making amazing videos!
just found this channel and been watching for a couple hours now.. there is just something about this guy that is great. good videos and he seems like a good guy. so I'll keep watching.
This by far is my favorite thing you have uploaded in a while and I can't wait to see the adventures you take with your own boat once she's up and running
I just want to say thank you you inspired me to buy a kayak I now have a pelican strike 100 I love it. It's amazing and I love the way you can go anywhere and see all the amazing stuff near you
Wow, that traffic in Miami is a madhouse. Looks like everyone is having a blast including your dogs Marty. You almost had me on the chicken fish. Safe travels.
Dude your vids are awesome.... The randomness in it completely tracks your thoughts. Like with the cleats the boats use to tie off and the sunrise. Epic. Thanks for including such an invasive task (recording) into your personal and intimate experiences. Keep it up!
enjoying your Videos. I miss going to Sea. Out of 13 years of Service in the USCG 9 was spent on Cutters. Spent most of my time in the Bering Sea and on George's Banks but did make it to the Southern Seas also. I watch these to remember, and to dream of getting my own boat.
Awesome video as always Marty great humor and footage it's not about the fish you catch but all about the adventure if you catch fish along the way that's a bonus 👍🏻👊🏻🤘🏻😎🎂🐟 fish on bro
great stuff! i'm look forward to part three. that oasis of the sea cruise ship was huge! it was here in seattle couple months ago. keep up the great content and happy boating!
Like every one is saying... nice video. Been watching you for about a month now and I have enjoyed all your vids. I live just down the coast a couple hours from you in Port Charlotte. Marty you have inspired me in a lot of different ways, now I just have to figure out the course to get there. Thanks brother.
What an amazing day two. The dogs are so well behaved. The pictures of all the cool boats, and so many people! 100 and 105 degrees, how did you stay cool? Really enjoyed it. I will watch day 3 tomorrow.
when you watch the sunrise over the land and the tree, you don't realize how big, powerful, and beautiful the sun really is until you see the sun where it truly belong. in the big wide open ocean.
great video I live 5 min from black paint marina were you guys stoped for gas pretty cool . great job guys hopefully I'll be sailing the Seas with my 33 foot boat I'm getting ready .
hi there , i would like to point out what looks like small error, the titanic weight 52,310 tons (fifty two thousand tons) keep up the good work and have a nice day !
Hi Marty. Glad you made it out alive from Blackpoint Marina. What can I say other than this marina is one of the epicenters of Miami nastiness and rudeness. I sold my Bayboat in 2011 because of this Marina. Later in the day those speeders you saw going out are mostly drunk and angry. Another Great Video! Tight Lines!
Awsome video! That boat is the Oasis of Seas, Worlwide known. Belongs to the Royal Carebean, Huge Boat, I think it is the worlds biggest cruise ship. If that is not the one they another just like that that is even bigger. Awsome Video! Awsome moments.
You were 5 miles from me at Lauderdale Marina. One mile per gallon on that boat! My decision is now at 98% towards a sailboat! That cost Mike a couple hundred bucks every time the dogs stopped to pee!! Sunrises never get old! Don't worry about the catch. I too have hooked the rare endangered Publix Chicken Fish! Still tastes good blackened!!
New subscriber and I can't count how many things we got in common hell even in the same part of town I believe. I'm in Clearwater anyways glad I found ya
Take it from me, I live close to Black Point Marina and I never, ever go out if there. I use Byscaina National Park, which is a lot closer to Adams cut btw, the channel is 2 thirds shorter than Black Point also and they do have fuel and a pet do friendly park right by the water. Great video though, keep'em comin!
I know marina fuel is definitely not cheap.. and let alone having a big tank.... so I'm sure filling up every day is even worse.... also the oasis of the seas is huge like you said and it's really fun when you stay on it for a week... also it's the biggest cruise ship made(to date)
Marty, great documentary of your 3 day trip. Day 2 and you are in my neck of the waters. The dock you intentionally passed by is a NPS facilities dock, no facilities and probably with pet exclusions. And I now suppose you have the same disdain for the long, slow channel of Black Point Marina.
Those maniacs are regulars in biscayne bay, I'm always at the marina south of black point called homestead bayfront. We always use the turkey point nuclear plant as a landmark.
Ah black point. Probably the most painful no wake zone to go through. Not to mention the pain of going across the pain and trying to avoid all the shoals
Hey man, great videos. I'm coming to Clearwater area next weekend, to fish. Chartering on Saturday and taking my buddies center console out Sunday. We're putting in at Anclote or Palm Harbor, any spots you could hook us up with? Basically we're table fishing, since I live in Chattanooga Tn.
Great vlogs as usual now cannot wait for part 3, why are you going to carry on with your boat?? i.e finish fitting the engines ect? thanks again for all your great fishing videos.
first of all, great videos! and I just have to say it. I helped build the life boats on the Oasis of the seas! :-D they are built in my home town in Norway. :-D
How many miles does that boat do per tank.from black point to key biscayne is like 40 miles .so is from there till lauderdale marina. you are on my kneck of the woods miami. it sure is nice seeing a sunrise while heading offshore on my kayak.
It was a pleasure to watch this "fishing video":). Very nice editing, even the dog walk:), and good content. However, I saw you waking up with the camera in your hand (not that I am holding something else in my hand when I wake up:))). Is this too demanding for you, to record all this things? How hard is it? Sometimes I have a feeling that you actually working instead of just enjoying all of the adventures. Maybe you can make some video on video recording tips and explaining the whole process of making the good video? I would like to see that for sure. Anyway, what ever you decide, I really appreciate your effort and your videos.
hey marty, I know the feeling about that channel at Black Point. I spen a lot of time there because we got a new grady white as a tender for the yacht my dad runs and it had work done there. What date were you there? I was there around that time also. Tight Lines!
i live near that marine fun fact if you saw a flag poking out of the water it was because a boat had crashed there i see every time i go out also under those docks are some monster jacks and about a 40-50 pond barracuda lurking and ready to eat your monster jacks

If that's not inspiring, i don't know own what is. We'll done sir. Congrats on turning your life around.
We all struggle a little bit on our paths, Derek. It's nice to know that I've helped some folks on theirs. Comments like this helps me on mine. Thanks for taking the time to write it.
I did the same then when I turned 38 and it hurt to skate and got married well back to fishing I went
It doesn't matter if it's dyi, fishing, Icast, boat updates, dogs, or just sittin around talking I really enjoy your videos Marty. Thanks for making them,

I just want to say thank you you inspired me to buy a kayak I now have a pelican strike 100 I love it. It's amazing and I love the way you can go anywhere and see all the amazing stuff near you

Great video. Just FYI...52 tons was less than the rudder weighed. Titanic was 52,000 tons.
Awsome video! That boat is the Oasis of Seas, Worlwide known. Belongs to the Royal Carebean, Huge Boat, I think it is the worlds biggest cruise ship. If that is not the one they another just like that that is even bigger.

damn the water was really calm ... where did you anchor that you weren't in the shipping lanes ?
Wow we could've met up I stay 5 minutes away from the port of Miami where the cruise boats are lol maybe next time
Dang that sucker burns some gas.
How many miles does that boat do per tank.from black point to key biscayne is like 40 miles .so is from there till lauderdale marina. you are on my kneck of the woods miami. it sure is nice seeing a sunrise while heading offshore on my kayak.
'Good Times' has two 60 gallon tanks and we made an average of one mile per gallon. We stopped more often than we needed to for various reasons.
Awesome!
wow your in the same marine i first tried frishing, i just pulled over from driving and tried to set up my rig there...
Is it true that the Atlantic side of Florida is colder then the Gulf side, ocean wise?
You gone on strike mart or are you lost at sea?? looking forward to part 3 man. LOL

Thanks a second time, Marty. Were you at all worried about your own boat because of the storm (Nathan?) while you were away? Because I did!
very cool videos thanks for sharing. what is the deal with the channels? ive never seen that before. they have bouys you have to stay within?
Hey Marty, great video. What type of dog is the white one? Kinda looks like a white german shepard, my dad had one before.
Yup. Just like the cartoon dog, Bolt.
Awesome! Thankyou for reponding, HUGE fan, keep it up!
good video, Marty. One comment. The Titanic weighed 52 THOUSAND tons.
hey marty, I know the feeling about that channel at Black Point. I spen a lot of time there because we got a new grady white as a tender for the yacht my dad runs and it had work done there. What date were you there? I was there around that time also. Tight Lines!

How small is the fuel tank on happy times?
