Sequel to the original G.I. Joe game that was also released on NES. As someone pointed out, the map system is very similar to the one used in Bionic Commando (also on NES), where you get to choose the next destination as long as it is available to play (and also after meeting certain requirements first, such as weapons and/or characters with special abilities). Which is an interesting addition since apparently Capcom told the developers to implement part of the features from their 1988 game into this one. The plot is about General Hawk and his allies who are in a mission to defeat Cobra Commander and completely truncate his plans to destroy the entire world. Each character has their own set of weapons and abilities, for example Wet Suit can dive underwater without losing health over time, Road Block can go through narrow places, Duke can fire in any direction, and Storm Shadow/Snake Eyes who are pretty nice choices for close combat. Some of the areas are optional and only contain a few power capsules and health refills, though I took the time to show them off as well for completion purposes.

Same playstyle, but Capcom added a Bionic Commando style map system I see.
Not as good as the first game, but the music is still pretty fine.
