    To put it simply. I red card behavior that I do not want to see again ever. I yellow card behavior that I don't want to see again that game. Of course, one can make it more complicated than that, but it's a good starting point in my opinion.

    Could you still get a red card if you’re last man ( but on the other team’s side of field ) and grab your opponent from his uniform and prevent him from leading a counter attack? Every player in your team is on the other team’s side of the field attacking they lose the ball striker gets it and you tackle him while still on his team side of the field to prevent an counter attack.

      It's really late, but yes - that's a red card for DOGSO.
      Happened in the Real/Chelsea game yesterday, though it was more on the edge of the penalty box.

    Sending someone of for DOGSO seems strict. Isnt that the point of a penalty?
    I guess penalties only have a 70% conversion rate, so I guess there could be opportunities where taking a penalty would be the better option.

    • @nelsonroy4157

      Several seasons ago, the IFAB determined that giving a red card and a penalty kick was not a fair penalty for some fouls in the penalty area, so they modified the rule. A DOGSO offence that occurs for a challenge which was an ATTEMPT TO PLAY THE BALL where a penalty kick is awarded will only be sanctioned with a yellow card. The attempt to play the ball rule is an important distinction here, as getting stuck in or making a desperate slide challenge (if safe) will only result in a yellow, but pushes from behind or handball offences will still earn you a red card, even if a penalty kick is given.

  • @searjo70
    @searjo70 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Can you please elaborate on dogso the scond part because we as unprossional footballers have a confusion on that part. We say if the defending player is the last player left with the offending player and makes a foul then only in this case, he must be sent off. But if there is another defending player parallel to that player who made the actuall foul if there is a 6 meters distance, we as fans say that player mustn’t sent off.. he should be awarded only a yellow card.
    Can yup please comment on this situation please?

    • @nelsonroy4157
      @nelsonroy4157 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This would entirely depend on the distance to goal, direction of the attack, and the speed of both players. If there is a likely chance that the second defender could have cut off their opponent before they could take a shot, then it should not be a sending off. But if the second defender has no realistic chance of legally stopping their opponent before they get in a promising position to shoot, then it would be a red card.

      I card any age depending on league rules.
      If the league doesn't allow cards, ok, no cards.
      Now, I know refs that laugh when I tell them I used cards in u12. If cards are allowed, I use them as appropriate. Realize the age kids switch from recreation to competitive is around 10-12. Players are starting to not only play better, they begin to make cautionable actions.
      What a referee handles in u6 u8 u10, the game picks up. Of course, bad habits exist until its countered.
      At u12, I have more statues on free kicks, pushes in the back, legs stuck out to trip, pushing keepers on corner kicks, etc.

    Is violently grabbing a referees shirt a red card??

  • @charlessmith263
    @charlessmith263 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In some cases, a second yellow card on a player means the player is ejected. But it also depends on the type of soccer game. In the World Cup, a person who gets a second yellow card is not ejected from the game the player is playing right now, but IS EJECTED from playing the next game--aka "suspended" from playing the next match.
    In some cases, a World Cup soccer referee will show a yellow card first to a player, and then, release the red card later in just a few seconds, for some serious violations or fouls in the match.

    • @hateterrorists
      @hateterrorists ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not quite right, the second yellow card in two matches forces the player to miss the next game, it doesn't mean they're not sent off for two yellows in a single match.
      The ref when showing the second yellow, will follow with a red to send them off as they've accumulated two yellows.

    Obviously, these actions will mean you need to show a red card and send the player off the pitch....
    1. On a defensive tackle, the defender uses the cleats or spikes to intentionally lacerate the opponent's legs when the opponent falls. The defender gets the card.
    2. When, in a confrontation between players after the whistle, either one does a sucker punch at another and connects, or either one does a wrestling slam to the ground. The one who instigated the punch or slam should be booked.
    3. When a player does unacceptable, intentional, unsporting "dissent" at a referee, or does any intentional physical contact to the same, whether it was or without intent to injure the referee.
    4. Using a soccer ball to intentionally aim at or strike the referee if a player has the ball, whether or not the play is dead.

    If, in a DOGSO situation, the foul is inside the penalty area, and it was a genuine attempt to play the ball (no trip, no pull, possibility to play the ball), then a YELLOW card should be shown instead of a red.
