Shelly do not have Sha'carri foot speed.
The best person to match her with Melissa so we have that advantage, then to Tia, Tia can outrun Tamari, then to the girl that runs the 200m not Sashalee.
Then Shericka with a slight lead can hold off Sha'carri.
If Shelly abd Sha'carri natch it will be like 2012 when US give us a lead plus a record.

Having 3 of the US runners train together is a massive advantage. It'll be hard even if Shelly or Jakko were in 10.6 form. Having Tia anywhere other than 1st leg is a risk since she hasn't received the baton from anyone close to as fast as the big 3.
This lady here on this video knows what she's talking about, she got experience eating boar ham bbq enchiladas and okra duffles and that really counts!

Personally I think the injury Shelly has now doesn't give her enough edge to anchor probably if this was 2021 or 2022 with her in 10.6 shape that would've been the best option but now she has to get a leg where her fast start can give the team and edge

Now that you touch this topic, T personally me love all my Jamaica althetes and I suppose them 100% . However, I never believe Shericka should end a relay team that has always been my take.
I don't believe Shericka close on althetes that are ahead of her like Shelly normally does. Even if Shelly doesn't pass that althete, you see her closing in and closing fast cutting the distance. I don't get that from Shericka on the final leg, and I believe an anchor leg should be able to close on the athlete ahead.
Shelly does well on the back stretch, and I think she can create some amount of cap between herself and the other althetics to possibly give the anchor leg running a frighting chance. But, the person anchoring most have the speed to carry that momentum.
Bwoy, I know that Brianna is not having the best season ever. However, of all the other ladies. I believe she has the best start, and she still does dispite not having her best season, and I think she should considered as the starter.

They have to get someone to go step for step with Gabby or someone to at least keep a lead if they get it before Gabby.
The last relay Gabby eat up the 3rd leg and I think Sasha was on that leg we may need a SJ on third who can hand over to a Tia or Shelly before Shacarri and hope they keep the lead to the finish.
They need to put the best team possible this time and I do not thing any of the other 100m runners are good enough so they could try out Ackera, Shelly, Tia (hope she can hold her lead on Gabby) ,Jacko and see how it works they have time can try it out.
@@dominieless5310 Lanae's name is being thrown in the discussion because her strength is the curve (third leg) due to her being a 200m specialist. Not sure if she's ever ran against Gabby Thomas (lanae) but that's the reason why people are bringing up her name.

That was in Juniors. Look what happened to her when Shericka came up to her in the 100 meters, she lost all of her form. These are the big girls, she will be walked down by Shakeera, we need Shericka there to put it away.
Sashalee should not run 3rd leg if Gabby is taking that spot from USA.
Tia will do well on 2nd leg not anchor leg. But I believe they should be practising relays by now, right T?

Tia has been getting good starts lately. So for me its Tia_Shelly_Sashalee_Sherika. I do think though that efficient baton changes is the most important factor.

Shelly to start, it gives her the spotlight for her last Olympic appearance. Sherika to anchor, she is capable of holding off Sha'carri or pulling us to 2nd if needed. Tia on back stretch. Tia will hold her own or give up very little at worst. Forbes on 3rd. This is where the race will be won or lost. To be honest, With Gabby on 3rd and fresh and fit Sha'carri anchoring we are running for 2nd.
I agree with this if Forbes is used against Gabby. Only Shericka can match Gabby on that third leg but I've heard Shericka doesn't like to run any leg except for the anchor

If you look at trial you can see that Tia is a good starter
Everyone saying Shashalee on the third leg must not realize that Gabby Thomas will likely be used on the third leg in the USA team. It was Gabby that came from behind and took the lead from Jamaica in last year's 4x100m finals at World Championships . Sashalee was on the third leg for Jamaica and Gabby overtook her on the curve and gave Shacarri the lead..you can not give Shacarri any lead and having Forbes on the third leg will do that . They have to be strategic with who they use in the relay and not pick the team based on emotions. I would use Shericka on the third leg against Gabby or even Lanae Thomas who is a 200m specialist and runs a strong curve.

If you account for the stagger, the USA was already in the lead when Sasha received the baton. Sasha was a main reason why we actually got a medal. Sasha waited on an injured SAFP. Some other runners would have taken off too soon.

If you watch the NBC footage (find it by typing 2024 Womens 4x100m relay world championships) you will see that Shelly Ann kept her lead when she hands the baton to Forbes. TT did make up ground on her but SFP had a lead and gave the baton to Forbes who had a small lead. That lead was cut down by Gabby on the curve. The NBC commentators who are VERY biased and only praise American athletes are even saying in the video that Jamaica has the lead when Forbes is given the baton but then Gabby eats that lead up and overtakes Forbes. Forbes is NO match for a stronger Gabby Thomas who seems to be faster this year. That's a major concern and thinking that forbes will do well against Gabby is going to be a silver medal for Jamaica. They need to look at changing their line up if they intend to use Forbes. Maybe Tia to forbes to shericka to shelly OR Tia to Shelly to Lanae to Shericka. Lanae is a very strong curve runner.
I remember Shelly walking the last 25m of the back stretch because of injury and Jamaica was already behind when Forbes got the baton. We were never gonna beat that USA team without all guns firing. Shelly was injured and Elaine was none existent. Tia > Shelly > Shericka > Forbes.
If everyone is healthy and in good form I would have Tia first Shelly second Lanae Tava Thomas third and Shericka on anchor. Shericka is really the Jamaican that has the best chance of holding off Sha’carri Richardson. Jackos closing speed in the trials 100 finals was great. Putting Tia on anchor might be too much for her at her first Olympics. I think she’ll tense up and likely be caught by Sha’carri if her lead isn’t huge. Shericka has better experience and they always love putting her on anchor anyway
No pretty obvious Shericka and SAFP need too combine to give Tia a lead ...She could very well be the fastest of the lott the way things are going given injury concerns @present in the relay.

Shelly should anchor no anchor for Shericka, Shericka on the third. I agree with you. Sashalee starts. If it remains this way we can win. Please watch how changes the USA will do in the 100m relay. They always change two. They rest those who ran 2 events. Last Olympic they bring Sydney and Athing Mu in the 400m relay final. Watch carefully how much they are going to change this year.
I would still prefer to see Shellyann on the anchor leg knowing she’s not 100%. I don’t want her to run on the slightest of curve..

Why would you put Jacko on a Curve? The only reason she hasn't broken the 200m wr is because of the curve. Shes should run the longest leg...back stretch. Shelly should run 3rd leg. Tia on Anchor. The best sprint coach ever, said anyone can start.

I think shelly should start as we know what happen with her injury on the backstrech . Tia never gave up a lead on anchor thats her position on rhe team. Nobody can run a curve better than shericka thats her position. I think forbes can do the backstrech and try to keep it after shelly give her that rocket start to the team, shericka will teach gabby who is the boss of curve once fit, and Tia will press speed on the homesteech and give Jamaica a WR not giving to no one with due respect. Hope dem win gold with the right setting.

Jamaica can never pull off the win or a record when they do get a win because they don’t understand relay set up. They always like to go heavy in the first 3 legs and then hope the anchor can hold. It’s crazy. Keep Shasalee on third is the best option. Tia will be walked down and America doesn’t have slouches giving up that much real-estate to give Tia a big gap. Our fist leg no matter who we put will hold whoever they put on first leg and if they get a subpar starter she will be eaten alive.
I believe the strongest sprinter should take the anchor. Jamaica may not win the race if SJ is not in the anchor. Shericka is more experienced than Tia in anchor. SP for the 2nd , Tia for 3rd while Forbes should start.

I think Brianna Williams should be a starter in the 4x100 relays. She MUST be brought in as a backup and given the chance to prove that she can win again. Remember that she was the starter in the 2020 Olympics that won gold. She has the experience.😎

@@evanrobinson7578 Actually you don't want one of if not your fastest runner on lead off. It says 4 x 100 but not everyone actually runs an exact 100m. Therefore you need a very fast runner on second and third depends on team depth.
1st leg 80 to 110m
2nd 80 to 130m
3rd 80 to 130m
4th 90 to 120m
Remember the lead off doesn't get a jump start so it's best to get your fast runner to run her leg at full speed.
Shelly is best on the second leg because she manages the straight better.

People, Gabby was the second fastest woman in the 200 meters then behind Shericka. Sasha Lee should run the turn as she is probably better than anyone but Shericka.

It is inconceivable to put Shericka anywhere other than anchor. In her own words she says she doesn't know how to hand off the baton. I don't like being so negative but in terms of handling the baton, Shericka is the worst athlete I have ever seen. Her stick handling was terrible even in the 4x400m relay where passing is easier because the speed is slower. Putting her on third leg creates a great risk that Jamaica will be disqualified. On the other hand, Tia was part of junior relay teams that excelled in passing the baton. I'm sure Tia will be able perform well no matter which leg she runs.
What if Shericka is injured by the time the relays come around ??
yes great question given whats just unfolded would leave Tia as having the fastest time in the @trials...i would say no choice but 3rd leg or anchor ...leaving Alana to start if that was the case.
In this order.Forbes To Shericka To Tia To Shelly .Shelly needs to run the anchor. It's her final Olympics. Shericka covers Forbes lakes and Shelly makes up Tia weakness. THEY SHOULD BRING BRIANNA WILLIAMS

Hi, T: Since the JAAA has changed the rules to ensure that ONLY the first 3 are assured of places on the relay team, how about Shelly starting to send off the team to victory; Shericka on 2nd; Lanae Tava Thomas on 3rd [she ran 3rd leg on that international 4X2 record-breaking relay team with Julien Alfred, Dina, and Adeleke, at the Texas relays earlier this year]; and the 19 year old Tia on anchor---this girl is a n absolute beast on anchor, even if was at the high school junior team level; but she has done it consistently and has proven herself to be worthy of such awesome responsibility. Besides, when we win it would send a signal to the world that the baton has indeed been passed (both literally and figuratively), to the next generation and is in good and capable hands for the foreseeable future! thoughts . . .?
I agree that the fastest athletes don't always have the chemistry to perform well as a relay. Time after time our US men's teams failed to perform as a unit and the results were disastrous. I'm an American who also happens to be a fan of your amazing athletes. I hope your team will be able to compete at their greatest potential in Paris. Good luck.

Why ppl keep harping on Briana Williams. She hasn't broken 11 secs in 2 years and her ran sub 11.1 once this year. Has only ran one lead off leg in 2021 where we won gold. She has struggled to make the team since. Sentiment doesnt win races, present form does. Briana present form is behind the 5 going to Olympics as well as Kemba Nelson and Lyston. Next year it will even be harder as Im sure Tina will be in the mix for a spot, so too Lyston and Slowley.

@@jonepic8100 TIA will get ran down sorry. She just broke 11 seconds for the first time a couple of weeks back and ran another 11 a day or so ago. So yes you will need a big lead if you put her on anchor.
Anyhow, all the lineups aside, baring baton mishaps and zone violations Jamaica a run for silver. All the ask for Briana ppl nah see the big picture. We got smoked. USA ran the second fastest time in history last year, that is second to their own WR. Jamaica has never ran as fast or faster ever. The USA on paper seem even stronger this year. So in my opinion do not get to worked up about who should run over who. A good lineup out of the top 4 from trials should see us easily in second and I have no problem with that.

If more it should be a we world record. I do not know much about Firbs so Imfont know if she is fit to start or not. But the coaches in Jamaica should know who is the best starter. We need a good starter. Someone who can move as swiftly as the sound of the bullet and run awT. Frin the crowd. Who is the best pick? I am depending on the smart coaches to decide.

Jamaica needs to stop trying to play catch up..thats why we lost last year at Worlds! We have to front load our speedsters and put Tia as noted on anchor. I promise with a 3-4m lead sha'carri will not be able to run Tia down. Shelly can make up any deficit from a slow start and shericka if healthy should handle gabby on third easily giving Tia a slight lead. All Tia has to do is run like a bat out of hell for the line and not panic. This is the best lineup. Personally I would prefer Alana lead off over Forbes.
3m gap is more then enough for sha’carri to catch Tia Jamaica should be smart and utilize Shelly on second shericka to anchor since I doubt shericka will be getting much baton practice also Tia should start give them a nice lead let Shelly extend it Forbes hold it and give it to shericka it will be much harder to run her down
The lineup was perfect at Worlds...The reason we lost was because of Shelly getting injured halfway down the track on second leg.

How fast is Ackera on a 100m?
I really don't think any of those other 100m girls who are there can start well.
They can use hurdlers and 200m runners and I think Ackera is a blast out the blocks and that hurdle speed is good therefore she maybe running well on a flat 100m

The athlete show up to trials for a reason. They ran with the hopes of being on the team. It would be unfair to substitute any of the top 4 for anyone that finished 5th to eighth.

Sherika most likely would have been better on the curve but the team needs someone fast on anchor to maintain or make up a gap.
Understand your reasoning of wanting to substitute for someone else but it would defeat the whole purpose of trials. If someone wants to be on the team then they need to come out and perform.
There's a need to win but it must be done while being fair to those who earn their spot to represent.

@@geminiboo95 the rule changed this year. Top 3 at trials have guaranteed places in the relay teams and they can pick a fourth runner at discretion. Even though Forbes came fourth - they could choose someone else if the want. They could have chosen Brianna Williams if they wanted even though she came 7th.
You guys really don’t know the relay beast that Shashalee is , especially on the curve. She’s the best option to run the curve with Gabby. There is something about relays, and I think Shashalee fits perfectly on that curve. Shericka should be on the backstretch to wage war and neutralize TT. On 1st , I would really go with Shellyanne to beat or stay as close to Melissa Jefferson who is quite good, and the glory leg to Tia Clayton. I am going out on a limb and say, a running Tia Clayton will not be caught by the mighty Sha’carri 😂no matter the freight train that she is Tia will not be caught if she is up and running before Sha’carri. This is just my order and my thoughts of it!!!
