I'm far from listening to the entire podcast, but felt like commenting. Though my boating trajectory is a bit short of Tim's, he mentioned a name very familiar to me. The first boat I had when I was 10-11 yrs old was a Shell Lake as well. However, mine was a mid-50s 16' cedar strip fishing boat with a 7.5 horse Evinrude. In fact I was surprised to hear that Shell Lake's reach was all the way out to the Chesapeake.
