Hey Nisha. I’ve used every single Treluxe product and the gel was my least favorite. I hate the smell and it does in fact flake. Actually, more people complain about it flaking, than not. The company advises to be light handed with the gel, which I was anyway. It went in the trash. I haven’t repurchased Treluxe products, because I came across better products. My Jello Shot gel has yet to flake on me. I LOVE me some Ecoslay🥰💜.

I tried this combo last year and It was so light I couldn’t tell if there was enough gel. Also I couldn’t get the frizz out so I added more product and I ended up with tons of flakes. My stylist told me there was a learning curve to it. I tried it three times and still had flakes so I gave up.

I used the cream, gel, and oil on my hair when I did a wash n go. However, that is too much work to have to put a oil on your hair so it will not flake. I use the untie the knot, curl.supreme, and I create hold by innersense. I love that combo. Great definition, my hair stays moisturized, and it last for a week.
I tried that gel three times. Same thing. I was super disappointed because I bought several jars because it was on sale and then couldn’t use any of it. Straight cornflakes!! 😒😞

I just tried the Kinky Curly gel and although it doesn't flake, I'm not so sure I like the way it defines my hair. I like clumped and weighed down coils instead of the light and individual coils. I wonder if I use it with the Kinky Curly leave in, if it'll make a different but then I'm not trying to buy another leave in that I don't really like that much anyway just to make the gel do how I want. Plus, that gel is expensive. I'm queen "take it back if it doesn't work" but I said let me just keep trying to use this gel and maybe I'll actually be okay with the look. I know I'm not buying it again, though.
I’ve heard the Kinky Curly curling custard works especially well with their leave-in, but I’ve never tried it, so I can’t vouch for it, but I’ve used the curling custard and it can be finicky with other products.

The gel flaked on me too and I am not even heavy handed. I tried it again on top of their serum and it was better but I would not repurchase that gel again. Just the leave-in and the serum.

still watching but sometimes i find that doing my hair outside of the shower, how you normally do...works better because my hair tends to frizz or feel like nothing on my hair too...in the shower...outside of the shower...totally different experience sometimes...i think because the water may be filling up my cuticle where the product should be...working on damp hair sometimes is best for me. okay you just said out of the shower you prefer officially...ok lemme finish, lol

Yeah this gel is finicky 😂 I actually like it but the key is to make sure you don't have any white on your hair as it dries. I get some small particles but nothing you can see on the hair.

Hey love 💕 So this normally does not happen to me. So this time I shampooed and co-washed. And since I deep conditioned just a few days before, I used a regular conditioner and then went on with my usually styling. Hope that helps 🤗
I only like the Leave In from TreLuxe. I didn’t like the gel. It may have been the leave in with the gel. Sometimes you have to be light on the leave in. Happened to me one time after applying leave in the shower I got out to apply the gel and it was too white and thick. I politely got back in the shower and rinsed out the leave in. I refuse to take any chances on having flakes. Can’t be redoing my hair like that. Even if I see too much residue in my hair after applying products I will take a microfiber towel and blot it out. No flake policy over here. 😂😂 I only use a few stylers now and only one had the potential to flake. I just make sure I use enough water and pay attention to how much gel is being applied. That is with Curl Mix. She will flake if not careful. I do have two new products (stylers) I haven’t tried yet. Won’t talk about them until I’ve tried them. Got to use up my stash. I have about a 1/3 jar of Jello-Shot I need to use up, about the same with Curl Mix and the TGIN Miracle RepairX gel. I’m not purchasing anything else, maybe. 😂😂

@@t156t2 I do what works. It works for me. It actually helps stretch out my products. I use a small amount of all except UFD. After a leave in, if I use one I use lots of water and had at least 2-3 quarter size amounts of UFD. With the I Create Hold it only takes a little, it goes a long way (add water) it glides on. There is no right or wrong way. Do what works. Took a few years for me to get it right. You just can’t copy someone because everyone’s hair/chemical makeup is different. Whatever works do that.

Tried it on awash n go and on a twist out and both times nothing but flakes! I didn’t think the leave in did anything for my hair as well so I will not be buying their products again. I don’t have time to make a product work when I can just use products that already work.

Not to a wedding, thats so disrespectful....smh I actually have that same gel but I've never had an issue with flaking but then again I never used it in combibation with their leave in. I normally combo it with TreLux Curl Supreme (4 in 1 hydrating Creme) and never encountered flakes. 😖 if you have the energy to try it again,I'd recommend you use their Curl Supreme.

Wow, that's not good that it flaked on you!😫 It's so weird how products work differently on different heads of hair. I saw a video that A Love 4 Me did and she uses a little oil with it and it doesn't flake for her. I do know that xanthan gum based gels can flake for some people if there isn't enough oil in the mixture. Personally, I've never had the Treluxe Hi Definition Gel flake on me and I don't add oil. It's one of my favorite gels because it has a medium hold.💜 I have to say though that I use way less leave-in and gel than you did, but IDK if that has anything to do with the flaking. Anyway... I would take it off your hands if I could.😂😂

Wait Alove4Me did review it’s the xanthum that does that. She had to use a bit of oil to remove the flakes. It’s seem the serum with the gel it’s not a good combo for everybody

It was a no for me, flakes was ever where. It also did a twist out and still flakes.

I actually have that same gel but I've never had an issue with flaking but then again I never used it in combibation with their leave in. I normally combo it with TreLux Curl Supreme (4 in 1 hydrating Creme) and never encountered flakes. 😖 if you have the energy to try it again,I'd recommend you use their Curl Supreme.

I absolutely ONLY wash my hair in the shower, nothing else. When I come out, I finish up and wet again accordingly. I was apart of that Live, can't believe it flaked on you like that after omg lol, hush.

Wow, that's not good that it flaked on you!😫 It's so weird how products work differently on different heads of hair. I saw a video that A Love 4 Me did and she uses a little oil with it and it doesn't flake for her. I do know that xanthan gum based gels can flake for some people if there isn't enough oil in the mixture. Personally, I've never had the Treluxe Hi Definition Gel flake on me and I don't add oil. It's one of my favorite gels because it has a medium hold.💜 I have to say though that I use way less leave-in and gel than you did, but IDK if that has anything to do with the flaking. Anyway... I would take it off your hands if I could.😂😂

Ho wow sorry it didn’t work for you. It’s one gel that I want to try it since it’s a botanical gel. You’re right I haven’t seen people saying it flakes. Wait Alove4Me did review it’s the xanthum that does that. She had to use a bit of oil to remove the flakes. It’s seem the serum with the gel it’s not a good combo for everybody

Other influencers will use oil before the gel to avoid flakes.
