For those who may not know... this is called a "daegeum", and that membrane they put over the one large hole is called cheong... it's from the inside of a Korean reed, and it produces a slight buzzing that gives the daegeum it's special sound. You can't really hear it in this video, but when the daegeum is played loudly or forcefully, the buzzing it more apparent, and really gives it a sharpness that sounds great. 어느책에선가 대금은 쌍골죽으로 만들어야 맑고 청아한 소리가 난다던데 영상을 보니 모두 쌍골죽만 있네요. 쌍골죽은 병이들어 기형성장한 대나무인데 기형이 오히려 더 나은부분이 있었네요. 영상 재미있게 잘 보았습니다.
굉장히 복잡한과정을거쳐 탄생하게되는군요

It reminded me of David Carradine's flute in the old Kung Fu series (and more recently in Kill Bill.) Although the character he played was not a good flutist, the sound of the flute caused sensations and feelings that this instrument produces.

Di Indonesia, setahu saya sukar di standarkan(khususnya suling tradisionalnya). Karena mereka berkembang dari pakem seni gamelan dr daerah masang2. Pada umumnya setiap grup gamelan memiliki pemain suling. Dan mereka masing2 mengembangkan sendiri corak suling. Ada Sunda, Jawa dan Bali. Dan mereka/pemainnya membuat sendiri sulingnya. Begitu juga pesulimh ndangdut
