We planted a bunch of seeds a few weeks back. We cut 600ml plastic water bottles in half. Fill the bottom with soil and seed. Place the top over it to make mini glass houses. They should be ready to plant out mid to late October. I can't wait for the fresh food in Summer, around January. ❤ from Geelong, Victoria, Australia. ❤🐨
We have had rain for the last 7 days. All day long. My cherry tomatoes have all split even some of the unripe ones. Just too much rain. Checked this morning, there is lots of sunshine. Hoping the rest of the green ones will ripen. I only have 3 plants that were volunteers. Too many deer and other critters that would chow down on a bigger garden. Enjoy what you can harvest. Love watching your videos. Keep living your dream!
Had the same tomato problem........root rot. And my bell peppers. However, I planted potatoes for the first time. Very pleased with them. And very yummy!
You are an h a great guy I don't see how you could burn bridges with anyone. Don't worry about that. When are you going to do another cooking segment? Those were so fun! I must have a daily dose of Taco and if there is a side of queen salsa so much the better.
I grow my tomatoes in pots . I also prune out the new shoots . I get a high yield per plant every year. I also start picking the tomatoes when they turn a shiny green . When they get a shine on them, that ensures they will ripen . I put them in boxes, cover with newspaper . Sometimes they ripen even before I take the paper off . Keep those boxes in a cool place .
I didn't even plant any tomatoes this year, but planted two different types of summer squash ,yard long beans .got nothing from the squash .but have gotten a handful of beans .but yet the squash has loads of flowers
Chopped green pepper is good in meatloaf. Green pepper, yellow pepper and red bell peppers are all good in fajitas. I got COVID when it was time to plant tomatoes, so I have to buy mine at the grocery store.
Taco stacks! Taco stacks! Taco stacks!!! For the win of the day!!! Thanks for taking us along! I appreciate you! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!
You did well with your garden. I have never understood how people like green peppers. When they are cooked it's nothing but bitter. Good flea market. Good to see lots of people buying!😊
My garden didn’t do well this spring, had critters eating my seeds, it’s never happened before I planted mini cucumbers, they are going great, carrots & green onions do well. Tomatoes did awful, first time in years. Just a weird gardening year!
I saw a gardening video where they recommended planting your peppers in containers as they don't ruin your garden. I wonder if that's the problem with the tomatoes, the weather makes sense, but you might want to try that next year. You can use a cardboard box for a container. I didn't really watch the whole video as sadly, I live in an apartment. Maybe I was just supposed to pass the info on.
Hi Taco. Some place’s gardens did well and others didn’t. I think it depends on the location and weather is a big factor. I’m glad to see you had a great day at the market. Take care . PEACE. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️🥰🥰🥰🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🦮🥰🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Sorry to hear that the garden didn't turn out well. You can transfer the smaller variety of pepper plants to pots and overwinter them inside. They make nice house plants. Next Spring, move them back to the garden. They will produce better in years 2-4, and save the hassle of purchasing new plants and waiting for production. I had a jalapeno pepper plant live 5 years doing this, and it produced an abundance of peppers each year. It grew bigger than a basketball. Year 3 peppers were largest and tastiest.
You over bought plants mayb Taco. The roma or plum tomatoes are good stewed with Italian herbs, put on pizza or over your eggplant or zucchini that you pick while its small. Good job on the garden.
Hey Taco. A pretty day at the flea market, you did good. Yes I think the garden is done, better luck next year with the tomatoes. I like green peppers, I fry them up in olive oil then put them on Italian bread for a sandwich. Also like them raw on a sandwich with peanut butter. Thanks for the ride. Take care.
Hi Taco. Great day for the flea market. You had a fantastic day. Nice when you.sell a lot and bring less home. You are a hard working guy. Hugs for Salsa. Thanks for the fun. Love ya.
I like green peppers in a salad.Or stuffed and oven baked...But red and yellow are sweeter I agree.Gorgeous with cottage cheese and chives.Your weather is like the weather we've had here in Manchester,England. The weather looks wonderful in this vlog.Gorgeous skies.Thank-you for filming all you did Taco
A long time ago, I got a couple of HUGE red bell peppers. They were literally mouth watering. After I cut them up I put the seeds on a paper plate and let them dry. In the spring, I started them off and I had over 30 red bell pepper plants and they grew just as huge as the original. Plus, all those peppers were free since I had saved the seeds. I do have a tip. Ground in some area's can get dry as concrete. I'd dig an actual hole and put in about a large coffee can full of sand mixed in with the dirt. That way when I watered the sand helped hold in the moisture and it worked very well for me. All my veggies turned out great. At one point when I really started getting into gardening, I had a truck of sand brought in and spread across my entire garden. I used my roto tiller and worked that in the soil. I no longer garden like that but even today with 5 gallon buckets and patio pots, I add sand to help that dirt retain the water and it still works great for me. Thanks for another video!
Good price on your mailers. They’re just a little smaller than I would need for my eBay sales. I reuse Amazon bubble mailers, but sometimes I have to buy them also.
Hi Taco - here in Arizona, our tomato plants were nice, but no tomatoes this year. Pepper plants put off so many that I froze some. Eggplants did great. Maybe better luck next year
Can't change the weather. My secret to gardens was to rototill. Then protect your seedlings with coffee cans (open at both ends). As you mow the lawn , fill in between the cans/plants with grass clippings/ peat moss. This makes it easier to go in and maintain your garden even when it's wet outside. Never had a problem with various tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers and eggplants. Next season try getting the tomato called Black Krim. Developed for the shorter growing season in the area around the Black Sea region. They look different. One of the big ones filled both of my hands. They are so good.
I like to stroll down streets on google maps street view too. When I’m planning a trip it’s handy to see what’s in the neighborhoods of different hotels before you book.
A Japanese friend of mine used to make a lasagne ground cover. She would make layers of newspaper and leaves. No plastic. The plastic can actually heat up the roots. The next year she would add another layer. It forms its own mulch. It actually does well with weeds. My next door neighbor uses cardboard to keep the weeds out
U can leave pepper on vine will turn red yellow etc.u can pick tomatoes b4 they turn red,or partial red wrap in newspapers to help turn red.also put with a red one.
Afternoon ! It amazes me how people will look in the boxes ? People at are Flea Markets walk right by them . I am glad for you that they do look in your boxes . Have a great weekend !
Taco you are one of the nicest TH-camr. Truth if I saw you in person I would be excited. Not too many people I would like to meet. 😂😂😂 You and Paper and Moose are so nice.
Green peppers are unripe peppers, I know they sell them in the stores but they are bitter. Red ones are great in lasagne, bolognese etc. Orange and yellow ones are great in curries etc.
Only got about 6 peppers but just picked 10 tomatoes and have another dozen to pick shortly. I’m in MN and have a raised garden bed. Unfortunately yellow jackets made a home in the bed!
Glad you were busy at the flea market! My garden is about done too! But, we will plant garlic about November 1st! Seems like my tomatoes turned red late this year!
Don't put you next tomato plants back in the same place next year. The ground where you have them now could have caught a blight. I've had that happen. Give that area a rest and fertilize that ground, maybe even dig up the top soil and remove it. River dirt, creek dirt is awesome for growing.
I had to allow my area clear up. There's other things you can purchase to help the ground. The black spots/ rot tells me it could be a blight...just sayin. My grandpa knew alot about growing everything, and he is the one who helped me figure out what the ground was going thru.@cynnail395
“Male” bell peppers have three lobes (or bumps on the bottom of the fruit) and are more bitter, while “female” bell peppers have four to five lobes, have more seeds, and are sweeter tasting. So if looking for eating always look for the 4 lobes. Even with this, the red and yellow are still sweeter than the 4 lobe green.
Green peppers can give anyone the burps , gasitory problems. It Acts up in the worse time of day, say out on a date , and bamo, and outcomes William Tell's Overture. With a lot of curtain calls , from the other end . 😊😊😊😊
There is a reason why tomatoes are always grown in a greenhouse. Just a simple plastic foil works. It allows you to control the amount of water they get.
Taco you never burn bridges . Your a cool guy . People drift in and out of each others lives from birth till death we do that .
When you are at home, we EXPECT to see Salsa! Lol
Never see salsa

I grew potatoes for the first time 3 years ago…. Grew them in empty dog food sacks the first year. Now I just trench ‘em.
Hey Taco. You have done great today at the flea market. I saw a white strap purse that I liked. Thanks for showing your garden ❤.
You are an h a great guy I don't see how you could burn bridges with anyone. Don't worry about that. When are you going to do another cooking segment? Those were so fun! I must have a daily dose of Taco and if there is a side of queen salsa so much the better.

You did well with your garden. I have never understood how people like green peppers. When they are cooked it's nothing but bitter.
Good flea market. Good to see lots of people buying!😊
When I was young, I would wrap green tomatoes in newspaper. When e needed tomatoes I’d unwrap them and they would turn red in a day or two.
I pick my tomatoes when they are just turning red and let them sit inside, they don't take long to turn red.
I watch you everyday
My garden didpeetty good, but, not the tomatoes. Glad you did good at the flea market.
Take your green ones in and wrap them in newspaper before gets to cold. 😀
Oh, coming into summer downunder, we have already started our tomatoes, got little last season.😊
My garden didn't do so well this year and the weather hasn't been so good either. Very dry until now, and we got a monsoon this week here . Go figure.
My garden didn’t do well this spring, had critters eating my seeds, it’s never happened before I planted mini cucumbers, they are going great, carrots & green onions do well. Tomatoes did awful, first time in years. Just a weird gardening year!

Taco, You're such a sweet person! I can't believe anyone would be upset with you.
A long time ago, I got a couple of HUGE red bell peppers. They were literally mouth watering. After I cut them up I put the seeds on a paper plate and let them dry. They closed the flea market in my area,so now you have to drive for an hr or so.find one .which stinks.
if you use black plastic, it heats up the soil
so you need to water a lot!!
I absolutely HATE green peppers! Talk about agita!! I only eat red, orange and yellow peppers.

Thanks!

Hey I am in Mississippi

I agree with Taco. Green bell peppers are edible if you need to be polite, but they don't taste that great.
Stuffed Green peppers are Ok most of the time
