Very smart of Boris to compare prices before buying. 😊 I do love flowers but would also be upset if my husband spent more than $10 on them. Some people in the US spend almost $100 just on flowers for Valentines and I would feel bad since the flowers don’t last long. Very interesting the vendor said carnation is the best flower because here I consider them as “fillers” and one of my least favorite. I also love sunflowers 🌻 like Darlene. They are very affordable here (about $5 for a bunch of 5). They are beautiful in their simplicity and brightens any room. Boris, you forgot to haggle specially in the market. In the market, they don't have fixed prices for their products. You should have asked for their last price which means how low can they give you the flowers or whatever you are buying in the market.
It's better to give your partner a stuff toy or a cup/glass and chocolate than flowers cuz the flowers withered after 1 week while the items can last long and have something to look back as a memorable stuff..
