A lot of young players don't have enough core stability when they make a pass. In order to make it more tangible for them what their core stability should be, I let them try passes where the passing foot can't touch the ground after they have passed, and they have to keep standing for 2ish seconds on their standing foot. You're actually illustrating the exact exercise when you are referring to the ' rubber band' in your video. This can be very helpful for kids. Their standing foot has to be bent, their hips have to be open, their upper body leaning slightly forward, and then they have to remain stable after the pass, despite even running slowly before making the pass. Doesn't replace a ton of passing in play-based training, but is good for illustration and gives them a better feel.
Passing has been (thankfully) one of my most natural instincts as a player from a very young age so I relate to a lot of this. But yes timing and positioning of a pass, depending on the situation is also key as you mentioned.
you should have mentioned spin. because especially for long balls, backspin is super important so the ball doesnt get longer and longer as it bounces. even worse on AG.
Thank you for my favourite moment being you teaching me to become a better winger and amazing boot reviews. I always love the skills you teach us and other attributes to use in our game🎉🎉❤
There are also times where you have to know whether you have to pass it normally or perform a lofted pass. If there are too many defenders ready to intercept your pass, then you should perform a lofted pass (You should strike it from the bottom of the ball and don’t forget to give it some backspin). But if it’s a regular chance or if there’s only few defenders, just pass it normally. To whoever is reading this, be confident in yourself and don’t let your mistakes control how you play
As someone who's only quality is to pass, because for some reason, I completely lost the ability to dribble and shoot throughout the years, this video is spot on. Also I'm getting those boots, these are super clean.
So many times I mess up easy passes, it's frustrating. I think one of the biggest issues, other than not having trained enough, is that I hardly ever look at the ball, when passing or shooting. It's a really bad habit I want to get rid of. You should've mention how to do 1-2 passes. Mines are always bouncing off the ground
Thanks Unisport, just had tryouts at a different club and the pitch we’re doing it on is terrible, so i misplaced most driven passes, hopefully this will help on my next one.
Good video! About techniqe I would add having your standing leg bent before passing the ball and to push through without stopping before you made the pass.
Broooo, i just missed the most important pass of my life day before yesterday tho luckily after watching ur vid, I made the best assist of my entire left wing career. Thankx A lot!!!!!
Question here, since I saw that you were wearing glasses I would like to ask something I normally wear glasses when I play football but its not the best idea because sometimes it gets scratches or get bent so do you have any alternatives?
That's something you can only truly learn by training it my man. Go out, make different targets that have different distances to you and then just start getting used to making passes that have the right weight in terms of getting the ball there on target and with a good pace that's easy to control. /Jay
i find that my passes keep getting intercepted. I must make it 2 obvious where I'm going to kick the ball or something do ye have any videos to fix that or am i just kicking the ball 2 slow
We're not - I just think it's more visually pleasing to wear the same brand when we make a video - and since I felt like wearing Mercurials that day, I went full Nike. If I'm rocking adidas boots, you'll see me in full adidas gear + ball. So no, we're not sponsored by anyone. Just like to show off all the cool boots and gear we have in our store. /Jay

These are for passes made along the ground
Yeah I thought about going into that, but I think the video would’ve gotten too long with way too much information. Good point though! /Jay
