- In the next episode of The Sims 2 Pleasantview (The Next Generation), Fabien and Kevin are finally getting married in a community lot wedding! Well, at least that was the plan. But things take a sad and sudden turn for the worse once they get to the church. Committing your entire life to someone else is unfortunately more than some Sims can handle. :(

Kevin fell victim to the belief that you can change sims…if someone tells you who they are, believe them. Sometimes love is just not enough. With sims and people 😆🥴

@@placetocrash tbf the way Cindy did the wants based gameplay actually led to a variety of realistic situations as opposed to everyone just having most things going their way.
As much as I love these two together I really think Kevin deserves better. Fabien (in typical pleasure sim fashion) isn’t bringing anything to the household or relationship.
I mean if he wants a mom instead of a partner maybe he should move back in with her 😂

@ipbm27, that honestly makes since, Fabien doesn't cheat on Kevin or anything so I would imagine that this is because of his childhood trauma (I feel really bad for both Kevin and Fabien now)

As much as I love this couple dearly... I'm honestly rooting for Kevin to move on. To really take a look at what he wants in life and realize he deserves a partner, not just a lover. He can have both! He can have both, never settle for less than what you deserve.

Yeah he probably feels like if he did something different Fabien wouldn't have left him but in reality Fabien is the issue (Some time in the flop house might do him good 😒)

Ive always wondered what causes a runaway bride. In all of my playthroughs over the years, I cant remember ever having one of those situations.
In the default game a low relationship or being in a really bad mood causes a sim to say no. Cindy uses a mod that takes into account personality, relationships, and aspirations which means even with a perfect relationship and being in a good mood may not be enough for certain sims to say yes.
@Jakeywakey2095 yeah in a vanilla playthrough, I've had sims reject a proposal due to low relationship. But I've never had a runaway bride. Sad. I wanna see some of that drama!
@@liahnotleah if you want to try out the mod it’s called “random marriage/proposal rejection” by LazyDuchess. There’s a lot of patches so it doesn’t conflict with other mods like “Adults go steady”.
Getting the suit for his wedding on the day of his wedding is very Fabien. Should I think about what I’m wearing for my wedding later? Nah let me just look after my womrat and play video games 😂

Well that was quite the shocker! 😮 I actually gasped and started yelling no no no in time with you! Quite the soap opera cliffhanger ending…. Will Kevin ever forgive Fabian? I think kevin should dump fabien already hes kinda a lost cause. Hes literally a freeloader who refuses to settle down and jumps on the couch all day

The way you react is pretty funny. To me that was the obvious outcome as pleasure Sims have a 60% chance to reject (assuming you didn't change the default settings for the mod).
Also, imagine having so many relatives that you forget to invite your fiance's mother to your wedding. Maybe that's why Fabien refused to go through with it.
Omg, I didn’t know that!! I always thought sims would reject only based on relationship 😮 I love the added drama though. I’m assuming if Fabian had initiated the get married interaction it would’ve been fine?

@@nicche511 It is indeed based only on relationship in an unmodded game. With the random rejection mod, if Fabien initiated the marriage then Kevin would have had a 30% chance to reject as a popularity Sim (again assuming that Cindy hasn't changed the settings).

yeah, maybe while they are separated Fabien will realize that he's been taking Kevin for granted and shape up.
I spent a week populating all the worlds with ALL sims characters from every single game in Sims lore including spin offs Bustin out and Urbz, even making them all groups via get together and adjusted relationships. Its my favourite to start with when im playing ageing off
I know this is a really sad moment but whenever you get so shocked you stay silent for a few seconds with your mouth covered I can't help but cackle! 😭
I just love how spontaneous The Sims 2 is. This kind of drama unfortunately is just not available in The Sims 4 😂
Here is tip to get rid of thought and speech while still in pause: Use simmanipulator to change the Sims outfit and then choose the original outfit again. For some reason that removes the bubbles. If you ever want to make a screenshot of a specific scene this might come in handy.

That mod chooses chaos so often. I’ve even had popularity sims leave people at the altar! I sometimes have the sim with the risky aspiration initiate the wedding to be safe, but I love chaos sometimes!

Cindy there is an updated gussy up mod on mod the sims by lingeringwillx which adds planning and buying clothes in the individual categories, and to change to a specific outfit, might make things a little easier in the future 😅

I gasped so loud at work when Fabian left him that my coworkers had to ask me if I was okay 😅 like no I’m not okay I am watching a nightmare unfold. Heartbroken 😢
I am living for these videos again now. Laptop with all my sims games is being fixed, and I had a major mental health day and had to not go to work even though I had a huge deadline and now have to go to the holiday party tomorrow and face everyone.. needless to say I really enjoyed/needed to see this today. So glad you uploaded. Your passion for these sims shines through always and makes me feel connected and not so weird with how connected I get to mine 😂

Hi, Cindy, i started watching your Pleasantview series in April of 2023 and never thought you’d come back! So glad since your gameplay got me into the Sims 2 again! (P.S. I did find out about the vlog channel and watch it here and there)
it's so cool seeing your next gen again. i started playing rotationally after watching you do this and my pleasantview is a bit further on than yours now - all the original adult sims are dying off! i also have a gay son of dina and mortimer who was born on roughly the same day mortimer died, who also is chronically uninterested in marriage (he's a workaholic lawyer who lives the high life off his lawyer money and his huge inheritance from the father he doesn't remember!). he hasn't dated anyone long enough to reject any proposals though!

Upd: I think (as many said here) that Kevin should move on and let this relationship go. I had couples like this in my game and sometimes the game just won't let you do things like it will say "no this couple will never ever be together" and no matter how hard I tried it was never a success. In situation like this I would just let it go, because the game itself resists it.
Now, Kevin is gonna argued with Fabien and kicked him out of his apartment forever.
Well to be honest I loved the outcome and maybe it's tragic, but some people just don't want to marry or be engaged. Lot's of people just don't believe in it or they just don't have the desire to do it. And it's don't mean their love is not strong enough it's mean their love just enough for them and don't need anything what make it "official". ☺ But i still hope Fabian and Kevin can make it to lovebirds again and thats all. :)
Sometimes a Sim just... doesn't want to get married. See Lilith and Dirk, for example. Never got married but are raising their child together and love each other very much! I hope Kevin and Fabien will find their way to continue the relationship. They're my OTP!
I play 4 days per round. It makes sense for me. University are 4 years (if you pass all the exams) so it's easier to know when they should come back
Yeah, it's definitely the best way, and the way I play now too. But I had to get everyone synced up - so I had to do 7 days until the end of this round. I'm ready to move to four in this 'hood!

Well Cindy, I'm ready to re-binge everything! My *entire* Sims 2 file has borked itself and won't run. So all my custom content that has been specially tailored over the last several years? Poof. I'm not starting with completely nothing, but I'm super sad about it either way. Gonna have to do a full fresh download of the game, then work on getting my downloads and lots all back
I was watching this with my boyfriend and my jaw was on the floor. I was just as shocked as you was and my boyfriend instantly compaired Fabien to Noah who also left his fiance. (Noah is a sim in a huge family I have that started with sim versions of me and my bf. He's our (only) romance sim grandson)

I swear this pretty much sums up the quintessential toxic user relationship story that you often see on Reddit. Kevin is the well-meaning unwitting victim who busts his ass off to support both of them and wants to get somewhere in life, while Fabien is the non-committal freeloader that just wants to have fun playing video games and spending his SO's money (definitely takes from his mother) without much effort of his own or taking the relationship seriously. Now Fabien, who probably doesn't realise how big a deal it is, left Kevin at the altar (realised he "wasn't ready" at the worst time) in front of everyone and put him in such a difficult position in his life. Poor Kevin is still trying to process what's just happened and yet is still wishfully thinking that this relationship, which he invested so much of his life into, can be salvaged because he probably doesn't realise Fabien was using him the whole time.

They can roll that want, and I also have a mod that allows spontaneous breakups depending on relationship status, furiousness, etc. So it's definitely a possibility - but up to them. Right now, Kevin wants to learn couples counseling and keep trying. But who knows if it will work out in the end?
