  • “Less feet, More hips, Less hands”. Too many hitters are doing too much with their stride and over-reacting with their hands. Learn how to hit any pitch without making drastic moves with your feet or hands. Increase your bat speed and power by rotating quicker with the hips while keeping your head and front shoulder on the ball. Slow pitch softball hitting made easier.

    Best video yet Bob. I while ago one of my teammates told me he thought I was getting all tied up with my feet and stride. And you just confirmed it. I also have watched videos of myself and, well, it's embarrassing, but one thing I do is I am totally dropping my hands. Lots to work on but I'm excited to work on some things. Thanks!

    Coach Bob what is a good drill or placement with the Tee to eliminate the " drifting " and staying on the back leg before the rotation / ball strike ? Excellent video Coach !

    • @obtv9489
      @obtv9489  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Put the tee out in front of home plate and concentrate on staying behind the ball. Make sure your front knee gets to extension, this will keep you from drifting out over your front foot. Practice more Rotary motion and less Linear by doing tee work from the “Launch Position”

    Great video! Not sure what I'm doing in my game I'm one of the power hitters for sure but I always seem to he 6 to 10 feet short of the fence. Any point to drive it further or keep practicing using more of the hips ?

      There are several factors that contribute to distance. You can gain 15-20 feet by getting stronger, spinning faster, improving technique and getting more repetitions.

      @obtv9489 well after watching your videos I smashed a homerun tonight. All my hits were just bombs. I changed my stance and loaded back my arms into every swing seemed to work well. I appreciate your videos as I see this is definitely a way I'm figuring my game out

      I do private lessons in Southeast Florida (Vero Beach Area). I do team clinics and Hitting clinics anywhere in Fl, just reach out to me to set up. Alan and I do 2 day clinics down here, a couple times a year. We will be doing our 4th Annual 2.5 day clinic in Colorado Springs, June 21-23 and we're working on a clinic in Calgary, Canada July 12-14. We can come to you, just need 18 or more people. These classes are from the Softball Magazine Camps they do in Viera, Fl in Nov and March every year.

      All your energy comes from the ground starts at the foundation

    • @obtv9489

      The same way pitchers throw hard without falling off the mound. It’s a smooth chain of events that occur one right after the other. Thus the Kinetic energy that is generated from the friction of the feet against the ground, moves up the body and goes out through the arms to the bat. Then all you have to do is time the impact of the bat with the ball at the precise angle to hit it in the gap, and the precise location on the ball, to create the back spin to make it go up. That’s all! It has been described as the single most difficult skill in all of sports. (Hitting a baseball, that is. Smaller object moving much faster then our softball)
