I use something very similar but maybe I’m using the wrong kind of net. I’m using a pool rake net that’s more long than shaped like yours. I have to use pool noodles to keep it up and open to catch stuff otherwise trash flows in them out and around. So nothing is getting caught. Any suggestions?

Love the idea, just need a way to get the water to circulate to make the net effective. The pump inlet isn’t adjustable and pumps straight to the center of our pool.
