    Romanian guy here:
    1. Had to google this one. Yes, don't do this. It depends on the area though.
    2. You can ask anything about Dracula. We don't give a sh*t.
    3. Most cab drivers try to avoid getting stuck in traffic. Always trusted them and never got scammed. One of my friends did though. Legislation changed meanwhile, so... You can jump in any cab now.
    4. The bribe money is b.s. Don't try it with a police officer. It may work, but if he/she wants to get you good, do it (read body cam). As for doctors, go to a private clinic. Never bribed a doctor in my life.
    5. We do have some issues with that, but it is very, very rare. It happened to me just once and I was asking for it. My wallet was way in the open, in my jacket, on the chair while I was in my shirt.
    6. Just use a GPS. You have everything you need. But be careful, we are pranksters. We will use words with double meaning on you. Learn the basic anatomy in slang and you will not get pranked. Example: A Polish guy that worked with us asked: How do you say in Romanian to Good morning? We told him (this is Eng translation) "I have a small D". So, every morning he was waving and greeted us this way. Finally someone told him the meaning of the words.
    7. I don't drink, but most of my friends do. They are heavy drinkers and if you go to a party and want to take on a contest, be prepared. Parties do last till 3-4 in the morning and not just weddings, regular parties. The idea is to invite people you know in order not to get violent due to alcohol.
    8. Roads are minefields, but not all. If you want to see Romania, you need a car. Go for a cheap one though. We have an expression: "I don't have money, I have a car".
    9. Yes! Do it! Try to go to tourist locations, but if you befriend someone who has grandparents in the country side, just go there. The food, the air, the water can not be compared with the city food. Further more, do a research on "muzeul Gruescu". You may be amazed.
    10. Don't know what private information means, but I can tell you this. When you visit a place, people want to know 2 things if you start talking with them:
    1. Where are you from?
    2. What are you doing here?

The first and second ideea arent really true the rest are true. The first you can sleep on bus ore public places but you risk to be make-up or leave with your pocket empty. Is not that we dont like people sleeping on us is more like we want you to be awake so you don't get lost or your pocket to get stole. The second idea about Vlad Dracul /Vlad Țepeș is not that we don't like to talk about him actually lots of Romanian people love him and the vampire story is only fiction. Vlad Dracula was a ruler in romania that lived his childhood in the Ottoman empire. In the old times well have to give kids to the empire to keep piece. Usually the kids were indoctrinated in the muslim culture and used in the army to fight with us. Vlad was a king kid so he was taken buy the Ottomans so the ruler will do as the empire wish. Because he was raised buy the empire once the ruler had to be change the empire helped Vlad to be the ruler and fight the king of the time. Once he got on the tron Vlad loved being the king so he got in a political marriage and tried to get free from the empire obligation because he hated the Ottoman way. So he didn't want to be the nobles or the empire poppet so he killed all the nobles and the empire army buy impaling them on the stick because he seen these as being a way of making others be frightened by him. And they really were afraid until the nobles sold him and his body was never find. He did have kids but he didn't married the woman he loved he married in political marriages because the nobles, the empire, the pope of the time didn't aloud him marrying the women he loved if he still wanted the tron. His first wife was also a tiran and killed her self buy jumping of a window so she will not get killed buy the invasion army and the nobles and their family's. From the story of his first wife death was build the homan woman and vampire love story. The true is that he never lived his first or second wife he married them to get power and keep the tron. He also hated sending kids as a tribute to the Ottoman empire don't know way maybe because of his childhood there. In his time it was believed that Romania had no tiffs or beggars and no bribe was aloud because he hated them and will punish ever body that will even think of doing those things. Because in our time we Romanian have lots of corruption problems some really want a new Vlad to rule the country. So don't talk about these ruler as a fiction supernatural person here people admirer him so they will not pay attention to you only because they respect you and don't want to fight and because the story really is bringing tourism and we don't want to louse possible tourists. We love strangers that came so we want to give them the best experience of their life here. Some Romanian will be so kind that will starve to death only to make a good impression as a host and give you all the food. Not ever body is a good host in Romania but our tradition say we should be or else the society will judge us hard for not giving our best . We have our rule that are not writhen but still are used and were very religious and superstition is a big thing here.

Romanians also have a problems with English. They translate it instead of trying to understand it. Some parts is not anymore like that. There ain't all roads bad and pickpockets ain't that a big threat if you have a wallet in your hand or pocket, i wear all day long my wallet in the pocket and nothing will happen, you can use and some mens bag( most europeans use one and romanians use more and more them too for a few stuffs travel to work and home or among the city walks).
People ain't such dangerous in general, most of them wouldn't aproach to steal because police in Romania is quit effective, there are camers in every shop/bar/ street view cameras etc... , i don't think anyone would allow someone to be steal by a thief.
Taxi drivers i don't know if they afford to trick tourists, there are 2 taxes( one for driving out of city which is bigger, and one for driving inside city which is smaller), most of times you just can ask for taxi driver to open the clock if he didn't, there is a clock which shows the taxes/km and the total amount to pay at destination.
I don't think that the first part is making any sense, why would you get to sleep on someone else shoulder, romanians between them do that and depends if you know the other person guess may be allowed for a strong friendship for that to happen natural.

    1. Yes. We're a 🎉🄿🄰🅁🅃🅈🎈 country. The parties end up close to morning or when we run out of booze. 2 is as well related to no 1. Our home-made alcohol is one of, if not the most strong alcohol you can ever taste (bit over 70° at some point). 3. Romanian was and probably still is one of the 3 most tough languages. 4. The gypsy culture is mostly represented by theft indeed, yet there are some gypsies that are truly honest and helpful, although not many to be honest. 5. The infrastructure in Romania has changed and the roads got a lot better than shown in the video, although romanian street workers are lazy and only like to patch smth up that won't last long. 6. The traffic jams in big cities due to poor mentality of those in charge and mainly bcs of how much stealing is going on in our government. 7. The cab section you had in the video is legit true. If you're not paying attention, the drivers will show you all the 8 Triumph Archs we have, although it's only one 😅. 8, and probably the last. Make sure if you're going out to grab a beer with some guys you newly met, not to be the last to leave, otherwise the check will be on you. Take care man

Romanians are not gypsies, take care of this if you visit Romania. Romanians are very hospitable, but if you call them gypsies, they may punch you in the face.
Yes, Romanians are tired about Dracula's story.

Yes, you have to keep some extra money with you when you use some public services and people are involved. But it is not how it used to be, especially if you are foreigner. You will be treat very well and no need extra money to pay with.
