Wow. That's something Filipino outsourcers should be proud of. It just proves how far our country has gone through the BPO industry.
Wow! Such up-to-date and super modern buildings for these Call Centers! I think that it's wonderful that these young people can have a real road to success by working in these Call Centers. Their English is excellent; do many of us speak another language so fluently as they do? I think they're great; of course it's good to have jobs here, but these positions give them hope.

keeping your agents in the way clients wants them to be is really a challenge.. its so sad sometimes that there are agents who do not like their job but they dont even want to quit.. why ruin your life in a job you do not even like.. its not about being in a call center or what not.. its about loving the job your into..as long as your job doesnt have something illegal or not giving not-so-good benefits to a lot of people, the most important thing is your enjoying and growing as a person..
I do not find call center work lousy. It's the most rewarding job I could ever have. I do customer service in my line of work. It's so great to work with my customer and help them out. Growing up I was not fit for higher learning. Working in a Call Center has let me be a valuable citizen in the workforce. It has helped me not be a burden to my family. I am proud to be a customer service rep. I am appalled that you call it lousy work.
Do you know that we have the best call center agents in the world? Why? Because we are more patient compared to other nationalities and patience is something we have to be proud of.
I left the industry because I can't take the stress and the pressure anymore, ang hirap po. Mas madali pa ang board exam ng med.tech. I salute all the pinoy call center agents for a job well done!
those were the happy days! nakaka-miss :))
That is pretty cool. I am doing this kind of job in Canada. From what I saw, the call centre in the Phillipines looks really professional.
I have yet to speak to an outsourced rep that understood what my call was regarding, without asking me multiple times.
oh! they sound so good.
Pinoy shines wherever they go! Mabuhay !
wow so polite full of dignity and so much grace.
damn they do it so well...
@Nauticalman Yes Siree! WE really do appreciate your comment with regards to our kind of service handling! More often, the Philippines is considerd as "The Smiling Nation".

I KNOW WE COULD WITH GOD'S HELP
lol this reminds me of a vacation video you're sent when you're planning a trip, lol
Love this company coz they're WISE in disqualifying referral incentives, EXPERT in cost cutting, QUICK in salary deduction, GENIUS in minimizing allowances, SUPERB in tax deduction w/no yearly income tax return, GREAT in limiting food&beer during parties, PERFECT in insFiring employees & after 20 years of service, all you get is your last pay.
my wife Lala used to work there and she misses all you guys there very much John p. brown
In such a short time, the outsourcing industry in the Philippines grew so fast. Thus helping the Philippine economy as well as giving the Filipino workers the opportunity to hone their skills and abilities!
Truly where Asia wears a smile.....
Thanks for taking our jobs.
Nice facility.. keep up the hard work.
getting hired by this top notch company is gruesomely hard. the skills and flency needed to be hired must be exccelent. this people we see is the best. of the company. to all call center hopefulls dont be afraid every company trains their workers to be the best they can be.
Lesson I've learned in a call center: Don't try to learn English with the classroom approach, try to learn it as native speakers do....and that is listening, comprehending and practicing.
HOW I MISS ePLDT-Vocativ. served and had fun for 3 long years! Those were the days! Sigh!
i was a Nextel, McAffee and Circuit city baby!hehehe
@Shyneth121: and, er, have u ever been to the Philippines??

Your Video See how Philippines shine in the Call Center industry to become a top-notch world-class outsourcing destination Is Very Useful Sharing
I want to work as call center agent
can anyone tell me w/c cc hir in the phils is the best when it comes to comp and ben and trasnparency to employees????

This is the real call center set up back then, less interruption, no interruption at any disruptions of the technology itself. Corporate set up and the manner we were taught. Be it in correspondence, it is not programmed, nor not for any BOT, as an SME GPS, all fields and studies, we are the best, we handled many. Its difference that makes one and another certain in any environment, fully amiable, adjusted to movements wherein one won't get derailed nor swayed by the changes of time. Preserve the time, technology, the style, the way of life that makes everything orderly and proper, regardless of what the World is to say. For no man is an Island, as the Island knoweth the Man and all what consists the Islands, it is lands for every man that knows truth and certainty.

maybe not all have a career in a call center... but im happy to say that in were i work, there is a career path that is waiting for everyone who is working there..
so, for whatever job/career you have...
I really wanna be a call center agent someday! Mahgad!!!
@ricman46: acknowledging our filipino callers abroad in our native language depends on the rules set by our clients. We have an external (offshore) and internal (onshore) quality assurance team. We have to meet their demands as well. regarding to our accent, well this is the nature of our job. We have to sound and think like them. ^_^
@CraiG10021 welcome to 2011. There is such a thing as NIVR (network interactive voice response) wherein customers provide their account details before they talk to an agent. In short account verification will be done by an automated voice response. Automatically, the account will be pulled up by the computer. The agent need not to reverify.
@palparan they are not pretenders.. they are just doing their quality jobs and service to their clients
i work for dell computers and we do have a tool called dell connect so to connect to the customers computer remotely.. the cx needs to click on the united states maps and most of the customer cant find it.. its really hard to describe how does the united states map look like... some even want to speak to a supervisor cause they can't find the United states map on the world map!!!..
yo laburo en un call center también y está bárbaro. No hago nada, me acuesto con alguna compañera de tanto en tanto y mientras la vida sea así, espero quedarme en el call.
Filipino are adaptable in any kind of industry
Especially when the girl says "Thats riight!" Filipinos have a distinct R sound that is easily identifiable.
its great to work in call center but sometimes you feel
grrrrrrr......
Good to see these folks have some opportunity. I don't know if it is still fact or not, but the Philippines people are rated best English speaking country along with the USA, and United Kingdom :)
They might not have the best American English accent in the world, but they get the job done right and their customer service skills are amazing!
@mabst6 They're reading the account info as they talk to the customer, get it?
In all honesty, if a business is going to be outsourced I would much rather speak to one of these folks. Clear concise English instead of a frustrating language barrier.
haha, may laging tumatawag sa phone namin na galing sa call center, about phone cards. Tapos mamaya mamaya nanghihingi na ng friendster account hahaha!!
Tama ka jan!
At the end, the guy says 'and best of all, it's in the police where Asia wears a smile.' Madness.
hmmm i think they're under a dish acct? xD that guy at 1:19 is just smooth!
that's the nature of the job
I think they were reading something on the computer on what to say. I agree, real agents have their heavy accent and highly notable on phone conversations.
wow, ang galing po
Saludo aco syo!!! marami ring cumacausap sa aquin ng spanish dahil acala nila spanish aco dahil sa pangalan,. pero i'm certified pinoy! matigas nga lang aco namagalog dahil laquing provincia aco,..Proud to be Promdi!!!
I am not sure what is wrong with a global economy. This video is cool in that countries are getting along so well.
When you walk up to a stranger to ask them what time it is, do they say "well I'd be very happy to give you that information sir" or do they just tell you the time.
@Jamaica1985 yup i agree
now this is a true Filipino Call Center Agent!
coraldayton, the Philippines have more than 61 dialects that are actively spoken throughout the archipelago. The Filipino accent varies from north to south, east to the west, much like in the U.S. Some Filipinos speak with American accent and some with Filipino accent with some distinct tribal or provincial twist to it. Besides, I find that our non-actors speak better English.
wow Edlyn.. I love the rebuke :D ...strong Pinay!
may i ask? if ur not reading script on pc.den whats d use of dat and y ur looking on it?
because she's navigating some tools simple as that....common sense please
Yeah!!! They're controlling codes and stuffs in the computer... Hahaha!!!
Ian Itan, have you tried working in a call center? we don't read script. we have tools to navigate that's why agents are looking at their computer.
All the comments here was 12 years ago 11 years and 10 years damn
I am not fluent in english. That's y i wanna work in a call center companies. Wanna challenge myself if i can do something more beyond my limits.
These people learned English in school. For someone who do not converse in English in their daily routine, i think their english is the finest in the world. Did you know that Philippines is the 3rd largest english-speaking country in the world next to England and U.S.A?
lol we aren't that all smiley and happy when taking calls.
i remeber my days at a call center from boost mobile...they were horrible
Why only dish process
contact us for more process
Got tip for foreign investors who are planning to put up call center in the Philippines! Filipino agents are very good at technical & billing issues.
Filipino's are excellent accent mimicers!! If you heard fiipino agents who are very good of speaking english. They are from world-class callcenter but if you heard poor to average filipino english speakers they are from low class call center.. that's how you determine them!
Filipino rules... Lipad mga Pinoyz,,,
Philippines Mabuhay...
What Satellite/phone company do they represent? Cable keeps their call centers local!
excuseme, could somebody help me to translate from 0.52 to 1.04 seconds, please, I'll really apreciate your help!!

so, for whatever job/career you have... the best thing to check aside from the salary(hehehe).. is that, if your happy and are you doing your best to excel in whetever job you have now..
Varries I've had mixed results. Some are very good and there are others that barely speak english. I sympathise because I'm not good with other languages, but it is fruustraiting to fight throuugh a language barrier when already trying to resolve a problem.
i could hav sworn i talked to one of these guys...
2:13, she interviewed me... she's from jobstreet...
ang galing ng mga Filipino!
do these guys read something on pc or u have to memorize all that ?
Devilz DaBeast No, we are trained and we study the process, so we can explain it to the customers.
They all look funny.
@akinj: well it is, so eat it up!
cool
Nice
per jnevaeh's post:
can - states "ability"
may - states "courtesy"
which i agree 100%.
However, in a scenario like that of a call center, "can" is most commonly practiced and I believe it is acceptable, nothing wrong with that. It will not sound disrepectful. They are there to provide assistance. Permission to provide is not required.
i work for a telecommunications INBOUND call centre here in australia and our company hires philippino citizens. Though being in a call center is NOT EASY, its high stress!! What you see there is the easiest calls!
"I proud to be Filipinos",,,Filipinos is the best in terms Speaking in English..we proud of that....,
My salary as a med.tech. for 3 years in the Phil. is 11k only. But a call center agent gets 14-18k as a basic salary. Anyway, so much for this. Thanks.
yap, I'm letting my comrades know
But how Lucky we are... inspite of all that, everyday with deal with American people.. (yesss the own the continent) patience people, caring people, humble and specially kind people!!!
I´m a lucky girl that I can work in a callcenter
fyi: Filipinos are well trained in speaking english.. the accent doesn't matter as long as you could be understood.. and i believe that call center agents in the Philippines are among the best in the world.
wow
Good for Philippines
Actually, yes this is how a great amount of Phillipino call center representatives sound - yes, they are only showing the best, or actors, but there's a very large Western population and movement in the Phillipines, which is why so many US companies are heading there for outsourcing needs. You're thinking of India
Hey what is the average wage of a Philippine call center agent?
These are not actors, these are educated Filipinos who actually have a degree and are working in a call center. Because they are good in what they do they get invited to be part of this ad. FYI, the Philippines' educational system is at par with any first world country. Our graduates are admitted at MIT, Harvard, Standford, UCLA, you name it, we get admitted for no extra requirement except for the english test to prove our proficiency, which of course we find no problem in passing.
Are you sure about that? BPOs in the provinces have boosted Filipinos' (specially the younger generation) spending power. If you take a look at the Visayas for instance, you will see a rapid growth in infrastructure and commerce inline with the rise of call centers.
Most of the time, verification is being done with the automated system first before the caller will be transferred to a customer service representative!
they call it a script... but they are good... go pinoy..
@Spokane88
True. I hope this doesnt affect you guys that much though.
Example: although their native languages are similar, Malaysians pronounce their English completely different to Filipinos simply because of where they had acquired it: US English is the English first taught to Filipinos historically so that's how they speak English, Malaysians and Indians acquired their English from the British and they pronounce their words in that way instead.. It doesn't mean Filipinos are "faking" their English just because they pronounce it in a different way from India...
Hey guys, be respectful to everybody.
cool ... sa call center din ako.. pero dun pwede sabihin na pinoy ka at sa nsa pinas ka ...
this is old but this is my favorite call center video. they speak really fluently
