I am a framing carpenter. I work for a custom home builder. I’m literally just an employee on a framing crew. Anyone can do it without any past experience. Thanks man I appreciate it!

I've been on indeed and all the framing carpet jobs require experience how would I get a job having no experience
@@dpatt1165 If you have no experience you’ll have to start out as a laborer/ apprentice. Some crews like to teach new guys from the ground up so I’m sure there are crews out there that would hire you. If you can’t find any positions online I would suggest driving around new construction developments. Finding the framing crews and asking👍

I suggest. Maybe move the case of glue and case of empty’s to where your last row is out of the way rather then walking 15-20 steps 4 different times on 1 row. But you guys are killing it any steps saved is great in my eyes.

Love the vids man hope you can reply but I was just wondering what brand do you prefer Milwaukee or Dewalt I'm Irish and I'm trying to be a professional carpenter but my dads a professional and successful plumber he retired at 40 and trying to follow his steps I'm 15 and since I was 12 I loved working with wood is still have time but I over think this shit so great vids man keep it up hoping to be doing this someday might move to America it's better than Ireland anyway bc of the weather and I love doing timber frame and drywall it's just so easy and satisfying fencing is also cool anyway good luck man hope you do well ❤
Hey man! I honestly wouldn’t in my right mind tell you any brand is better than another. I’ve only really used used Dewalt and Makita. Typically you commit to one brand and stick with it because of the batteries, but I buy every awesome tool a brand makes that comes about and exceeds other carpenters expectations. Buy what you see and find intriguing. It’ll make you happier doing your job with them🤷♂️good luck on everything Damien!
@@certifiedladderholder can't believe you replied as I said I'm only 15 and my dream was to be a carpenter and to move to America due to its high climates and good economy but I couldn't give up the scenery family and friends here so idk we'll see we're life takes us anyway thanks for replying man Goodluck in your career good to have a second view sometimes
I am finish carpenter & often I can’t risk a wrong measurement? Taking that thought would it not save steps & time to throw that 4’ cut of OSB on top of your bolt tap w/a hammer now u hv your mark and drill it or pull the tape on one , hang it and tap mark the rest and drill? Ton of time pulling all those plate bolts?
What do I know though I am an inside carpenter! A thought?
You know I thought the same thing. This was actually the first scenario that I’ve encountered dealing with sheeting over bolts. I look at it like if I tried to hover the sheet over the bolts as perfectly as I can there would still be room for error. I don’t think I could ever get it as accurate than If I measure. I guess it just makes me feel better🤷♂️
@zeph What you recommend typically works better for plates, might be more difficult/less practical in this scenario
@@johnwalker8049 What do you mean by plates? Plating a floor or drilling out bolts?
@@certifiedladderholder marking anchor bolt location on plates. I don’t use it but Larry did. ;)
@@johnwalker8049 I’ve seen that tool Larry uses for green plate! MattBangsWood also uses it. I’ve still only measured and marked. When I came to Colorado I witnessed Jarod and Landon hammering the green plate over the bolts to get the marks. I still prefer measuring just because I’m used to it👍

Here in NZ we don't use nails for floors, using Simpson screws instead - th-cam.com/video/fXej6PI5FiA/w-d-xo.html.
Good thing about installing screws is you dont have to bend down to put them in, drills come with pole extension.
We still add the glue as well.
I’m from Indiana. We commonly still use ring shank nails and glue. In this video I’m in Colorado working with @Renegade Construction Boy for a collaboration. He commonly uses ring shank nails and glue as well. I have used screws with the pole extension before. Man was it nice. It still doesn’t beat the speed of nailing. I trust the ring shank nails and glue. The one thing that causes squeaks is if a nail misses or not enough glue. If it was my own house, 100% I’d use screws just because I have the ability to😂
What cordless brand tools do u use and own personally? Presuming makita?
Personally I own 2 Makita rear handles and a Paslode XP framing nailer👍

Back at home I’m not considered a lead. I work under 2 guys. I deal with aches and pains by stretching and yelling loudly in the morning😂cardio helps. My favorite aspect of carpentry is hand cut roof framing. Literally the best art form ever
