    Wow this channel seems awesome. I’ve learned so much since I’ve moved up to the north woods from this guy!

    They make roller helixes for the secondary that work so much better than stock. I ran one on my vmax4 and it woke that thing up

    You gotta adjust the belt deflection too your belt is really loose

    Just wondering do you still have the same top speed with the higher degree setting. I understand the higher degree is for a better launch. Thank you 👍

      Never had her topped out in either setting, so I couldn't tell ya..definitely impoved acceleration tho!

    was this causing your sled to bog mid range and belt slip a bit? Thanks

    I have a 96 vmax 500 with a sticky primary, any chance you have advice on how to service or rebuild one ?

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't had the primary all the way apart on a Yamaha. You may need to take the spider off to get to the buttons, that would require special tools in most cases.

      Just bought 600 sxr and it also wants to crawl when returning to idle. Is this primary clutch problem?

    Assuming similar concept for the 94 vmax's?

      Probably

    Big jump from stock 40 to 70. Did you slowly go up? How much of a difference is there

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I just went right to 70. It runs about 500rpm higher than stock at about 40mph on a flat trail. I put it back to stock when trail riding with slow people so it's not screaming all the time.

    How many shims are on the secondary bolt 2 or 3?

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a bunch. It varies from sled to sled, based on clutch alignment.

    • @HunterMckay7
      @HunterMckay7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Whitestrash should there always be a shim on the shaft before the secondary?

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HunterMckay7 probably. You don't want the bare clutch rotating against anything. The washers align the clutch and offer protection to some degree.

    What does increasing the tension do? My Yamaha takes a lot of rpm’s to get going

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Increasing the tension in the secondary makes it backshift harder. Also makes it harder for the secondary to open, which is like staying in a lower gear longer.
      As far as it taking a lot of rpm to get moving that's in your primary clutch. It should engage around 4000 rpm.

      @@Whitestrash thanks so much. I have a 99 venture 500 and it revs really high when riding. Like 6500 rpm at 45-50 mph. If you give it gas it goes faster but it’s like it’s in a really low gear almost. You think I should close up the gap on the secondary clutch? The belt sits flush does not protrude over the edge.

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's normal on these sleds for the belt to sit flush or slightly below the secondary. You could see where your secondary is set (like in the video) maybe someone messed with it and it's way off??

    • @Whitestrash
      @Whitestrash  ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it should rev to around 8000rpm at full throttle, winding out.

      Any suggestions for clutch engagement @ 6k rpm? I've replaced my primary & it's still an issue. Any thoughts appreciated. It has to be an issue with my secondary right?
