Especially with the latest update, any DD's or light cruisers with torpedos, if you put them under AI control or give them a "Screen" command, they essentially turn into UAD's version of the "Suicide Squad", and will literally charge straight at the enemy fleet as soon as you start the battle, and immolate themselves in short order trying to launch their torpedos, without any regard to friendly fire.

An Ai change (or bug) definitely explains why I have seen more of this in the campaign than in the past.
