I will say that I can understand your dislike for Invicta, however I will counter argue and say that grown adults SHOULD be smart enough to see past the ridiculous mark-ups and determine on their own what the value of an item should be and whether or not the asking price is worth it. As for the design, I can also understand the hate but if it's someones cup of tea then it's their cup of tea. I'm not going to judge a person based on the clothes or watches they wear but rather by the actions they take and how they treat others. Personally I appreciate Invicta for their very large catalogue with mostly affordable street prices and decent packaging.
I agree with let people like what I like. I 100% respect that. This video was just showing why there is so much hate for the brand. I'm not an expert for every luxury watch brand out there but let's take this for example. Let's say you bought a brand new $30,000. In one year's time that car will likely be worth much less than $30,000. Now let's say you buy a brand new Rolex Submariner Date at retail for $8,950. In 10 years time you want to get rid of the car for maybe half, if not less than half of what you paid for it. The Rolex is probably at least worth what you paid for it. Even if you factor service costs maybe you lose $800. Rolex is the most popular luxury watch designer on Earth. It's not a 'ridiculous mark-up' it's what the watch is worth. You might not agree with what's worth but that is what it is worth. Period. Another example is a Stainless Steel Daytona sells retail for like $12,500 and on eBay one of those (the panda style) goes for $25,000 dollars. That's not an exaggeration. Again, I understand people can like what they like but Invicta is just not the quality or the value of a genuine Rolex watch and that is not disputable.
This guy it's a total douchebag I can't believe you posted this trash. Which says a lot about your persona judging someone because of the watch that they wearing?🤔 you are hilarious full of yourself not everybody has 1015 or $20,000 for Rolex. You can wear a 20 dollar watch and as long as you like it that's what matters you need to get your head out of your butt have a good one!😏
Chicken Permission * CSGO ofcourse that doesn't look good. But we're not talking about the size of a head, we're talking about a few millimeters bigger. And if you wanna decide whats goodlooking or not for other people, go ahead, hate on others and keep on living that miserable life then.
The materials & manufacturing cost for the Invicta Pro diver is about $35 and sells for $90. The materials & manufacturing cost for $10,000 Rolex Submariner stainless is about $300. who has the bigger markup?
I love it when the money for r&d, maintain facilities, paying to keep the most skilled watchmakers and craftspeople just appear out of thin air to cover the cost. Everything should totally be valued at the combined price of the raw materials.
You ever been to the Rolex building in NYC or any Rolex store? In house Swiss movement vs. Chinese junk made on an assembly line. Also, do you realize the value of Rolex goes up or stays sideways, but never down? That’s why there’s a saying about Rolex, “it’s currency on the wrist.” Go try selling your Invicta watches on the market and enjoy losing 99% of what you paid. Markets dictate price, not what the cost to produce is. Economics 101
Ares Apollo I was watching “Antiques Roadshow”. A women had her fathers Pro Diver that he bought in the 1950s. The watch was not new looking it had wear and tear. The expert told her it would go between 40 and 50k at auction. An Invicta would be worth $1.99.
I like the size and you can get a great looking watch that looks SIMILAR in looks for a fraction of the cost! This guys butt hurt because he maybe has the “original “ version and someone stole his thunder because somebody made a close version to his 10.000 dollar watch this guy is a watch snob!!
Wow! He judges people by the watch they wear. What does that sound like to you? I wonder what people think, just walking by this guy on the street. Not paying attention to his watch. Yup!
Just by looking at him, i would think young buisness man, probably college educated. But when he starts judging me by what kind of watch i chose to wear, it goes downhill real fast! I guess if you want to spend hundreds more for a watch with essentially the same movement, you do you bro.
I'll rock my pro diver all day and rotate it between my other watches without thinking twice. Keeps time, looks good and was cheap. I don't see the problem here.
Haters going to hate I've been arguing with Nazis on TH-cam all day so watch snobs Lookout. I just bought one of these things for 85 USD it's the automatic gold and black I had originally bought it for my dad for Father's Day but he likes a watch with a leather strap. It's kind of like the cars that I drive I would rather have 100 thousand dollar cars versus 1 $100,000 car. And for starting out my watch collection it is pretty nice.
@@daanvermeulen7940 😆 go throw your money away at overpriced bs. The reality is your $12k watch probably cost $200 to make. So buying a $40 one for $80 is actually a better deal. In all honesty there is virtually no utility in watches these days. People get watches as fashion accessories. Shit half the time they aint even running.
@@smokeyjayshouse that's what I mostly say, people should just get what they like and not worry about what the world thinks about it, besides what is with the obsession with everyone wanting or getting the Rolex submariner? It's so overrated doesn't look like it's worth the price to me.
"Awe man that's your taste"? So, you do that with the shoes people wear? And their shirt? And hairstyle? So, the purpose of the watch really is to impress others and gain acceptance into their little watch snob clique? C'mon man, let people like what they like. Did you ever think someone may have an Invicta that they like to wear with certain things in certain ways, and they may also have an Omega or a Sinn that they wear on other days or for other purposes? Don't judge people because you see one watch out of the 25 in their collection. What matters most is that the wearer likes the watch. And you said a bank group bought Invicta to make money. Are they? If they are making money, then it means that people are buying the watches because they like them. They offer hundreds of different styles. Not everybody wants to wear their grandfathers Rolex right? How conservative is that?
Omega Control I love this response!! So perfect! Basically he’s saying, if you don’t got money, don’t wear watches. I have a bunch of Invicta watches and always get compliments on the look of them. I think it’s hilarious how he thinks it’s “disrespectful” to have a watch that looks similar to an expensive Rolex, making it sound like your mimicking a god, when in reality you just thought you had a nice watch. I find it comical when people mistake my watch for a Rolex, (and they don’t do the silly “ehh” thing that he does) they find it interesting that there is affordable watches that are stylish out there that can look as good as a Rolex. He probably thinks he’s a tough money mogul wearing a Rolex. LOL
People can wear what they like..sure...but honestly..if you are going to dump $300+ into a watch then you might as well buy something made with quality materials and expertise. Don't sink money into companies that are only interested in making a profit with no heart into the artistry and engineering.
@@PhatkatCollections You missed the point of what I was saying. Also, no need to be rude and condescending. I've done nothing to you. Of course companies want to make profit, that is the purpose of business. But why buy from a company who isn't at least putting effort into the artistry and the engineering of the products they make. Everyone's opinion is different, that is mine.
@@Thedonggobler EXACTLY, they're just pissed that a sub 100 dollar watch fills the same role and looks just as good/if not better than their $5000 flex piece that some pillhead is gonna roll them for and they're gonna cry about it.
And the wall behind him kept me thinking like it is the map of states and subconsciously l was looking for Tennessee Texas or Dakota...... ps but l agree with him on the subject
@Boogie Bob Based on what? The fact that you think gaudy, hubcap-sized, over-priced watches are a sign of good taste or that you own six of them? Boogie on Bob.
I love their designs they look amazing! I don’t understand why people pay so much for a watch. Why would I pay 9k for a steel Rolex?!?!?!! As long as it looks great and tells the time is all I care about. Could careless about the brand as long as the product is proper. Morons paying 100k for a steel watch🤦♂️ If I pay more than 5k I want it in gold.
Im a collector. I have many many many brands of watches high end to low end. Invicta gets hate for all the wrong reasons. If you hate them because of looks or over inflated msrp. that just means you hate the fact a watch company is threatening the image of your higher end brands name value. The only argument you don’t hear is invictas middle to high end lineup quality being bad. Because its not. Until someone has a video proving the quality bad their opinions of looks and prices are irrelevant.
No, I wouldn't overpay on any luxury brand. That being said, Invicta pretends to be a luxury brand. When you are overpaying for a Rolex or Omega, you are definitely paying a lot for the name. You are also paying for quality. My vintage Omega hand wound is almost 70 years old. When are overpaying for an Invicta, you are just lining Eyals pocket. There is no quality to speak of. Fancy shmanzy cases and dials, yes. Will an Invicta from today last 70 years? Doubt it. Their rubber straps will barely last a yesr. Cat dude says that he won't buy a rubber straps Invicta. The luxury Swiss brands are priced.wayyyy too high. So are the Invicta. But Invicta is not a luxury brand. Forget about 1837. That company died a long ago. Their vintage pieces were beautiful. Google it. Invicta reserve. Funny. All you guys want is the shiny look. You know they won't last long. Guy just said, nobody notices his Rolex. Sell all of your higher end watches then! There ain't no reason for you to keep them. You only love your Invicta! Their cheaper price watches are great! I like the pro diver for $59. Spray painted gold and tiny diamonds on a quartz watch does not cut it. $4000 or more for what??? The I watches look really nice. I could wear one of those with a suit. Funny , now reserve 54mm thunderbolt jt LTD edition Swiss quartz chronograph diamond $1299, now $269.99. We are saving you over $1000. Final quantities. Once it's gone, it's gone.
I apologize of you being jealous of my possessions. It's really that simple. People want what they can't have. You clearly cannot have a watch of equal value to my watches. I don't really know what else to say it. Invicta is not a trusted brand. I have a Seiko that was purchased for under 200 bucks that I love. It's a cool watch. Is it a Rolex? Nope. At least it's not an Invicta.
@itscomplicatedwatches I like your channel, but that was a pretty douche thing to say. I would gladly compare watch collections and likely yours won't compare. But that's not my point. I don't judge people by what watch they wear or clothes worn. I enjoy wearing those loud invictas to piss watch snobs off. As far as your comp of thr skx and pro-diver....the pro-diver has a better seiko movement, at least it's hackable. I don't wanna come off ass just another watch snob douche bag, but geez just let people wear whatever they like. If invictas rock their boat, great if people wanna wear cheap Chinese crap, again great. Remember one cliche, different strokes, for different folks. To wrap this up, do people hate invictas, yea some do and others love them. Thr bottom line is they sell a crap load of watches, that in and of itself speaks volumes. For what it's worth, I'm a total watch geek at heart, I just love watches, so I'm going to continue watching your videos because I enjoy the content.
I have a Prodiver and a SKX.. The SKX is 40 seconds per day fast, the Prodiver 1 second. The SKX has a power reserve of 20 hours, the Prodiver 40 hours. Bracelets are similar. Prodiver is well made, nice polish, just as the SKX. And last but not least the SKX is three times the price of a automatic Prodiver. Conclusion, buy the Prodiver and safe 140 dollar and have a nice dinner with your girlfriend.
If your SKX is running that fast Seiko will honor the repair if it's under warranty. They're not supposed to be that fast. That's great about the time-keeping of the Pro Diver but it's clearly trying to be a Submariner and I would rather nave an original design. Thanks for the comment!
The 7s26 in the skx is known for those big tolerances. The pro driver has the evolution of that movement the nh35. Seiko is starting to belive that is swiss.
The Invicta pro-diver has the better movement and is a much more versatile piece for daily wear but the Seiko SKX is definitely the better tougher tool watch. Both good pieces.
@@itscomplicatedwatches he wasn't talking about how HIS watch is bad, he's talking about how the QUALITY CONTROL is bad. I have a feeling you're just pissed that a sub $100 watch can fill the same shoes that a $5000/$1000 rolex can, and look just as good while doing it while being 1/10th or 1/50th of the price, and be of a similar build quality. what I WILL give rolex is their quality control, no other brand comes close.
Some truth and a bunch of nonsense, let me clarify for you. 1) Invicta heavy discounts are only on certain retail channels, if you buy them on department stores or jeweller shops their discount off MSRP is not higher than other similar brands. 2) You will not find any watch with better fit and finish than many Invictas at the same prices (i haven't yet)....I heard all the time "Ah, for the same price you can get a Seiko, an orient or whatever, a much better watch", my reply is always the same, "show me", usually followed by silence....I'm not into homages there are no better Submariner homages than the Invicta 8926 (Seiko movement, less than $80 bucks) or the 9937 (Sapphire cristal, ETA movement) in their price range, none, zilch, nada....Seiko?? Citizen?? Please, they look and feel cheap and tinny until you hit $400-500. 3) I hate their gaudy oversized, over-elaborated pieces but at the right prices, many Invicta watches are hard to beat in quality (including boxing)....I have Invicta watches bought at Costo in the $100 neighborhood that can rub shoulders in fit and finish with 4 figures Tags (not to mention the fact they use the same movements in many cases). When you can find a 500m ETA movement, all solid links, screw-in crown and pushers, Swiss made Quartz chronograph for $129 from other brands let me know......but do not look too hard, you are not going to find it...
1.) Asking 90% margin is absurd, whether or not it's at one place or one hundred. 2.) You can get a Seiko 5 for 80 bucks and that's an original Seiko with an in house movement. 3.) Quartz is absurdly cheap, chronograph or not. Citizen sells many quartz pieces you can get for 130 or less.
Dude just admit it u don't like invicta so u bash them period car dealers don't mark up cars? Guess what more than you would like to know, and this is truth because I'm 30 years in the automotive business u think your walking out of the dealer with a great deal? You guessed wrong
Typical watch snob he’s mad he paid thousands of dollars for a watch and invicta stole his thunder by making a watch that he call homage I call it similar and they did it with quality and great design!
The hatred towards Invicta is snobbery and elitism masquerading as informed opinion. Their large, over-the-top watches are not to my taste, but taste is entirely subjective. For the price point, they deliver a decent product and fulfill the need of someone who likes the classic styles but can't afford (or justify) $10,000 for a luxury brand. At the end of the day, if you like the watch on your wrist, that's all that matters.
I have had three Rolex watches, including a Submariner. I've also had an Invicta Pro Diver Automatic for over 20 years. I enjoy the Rolexes; I enjoy the Invicta. The Invicta is worth much more than it's price, just as Rolex is worth much less. I don't see you attacking Rolex for all their hype. Just look at the price of the gold Rolex compared to the stainless version. It hardly justifies the huge markup based on the price of the gold. And it has been this way my entire life. The difference is that Rolex gets away with the hype. Just look at what a bargain Tudors were in the 70-80s before they caught on. My Tudor Monte Carlo Chronograph, $265 when I bought it because no one wanted them, is now $11-14,000. Really? No question, Rolex makes a superb timepiece. But without the name and the hype, not close to a $9000 watch. All that being said, you're entitled to your options, so thumbs up.
Invicta are just terrible watches on multiple levels. I just dont get how if you would spend the money and have the mind to own a Rolex for what reason would you ever get an invicta unless your father kept it up his butt to give it to you one day
Ok so why doesn't Seiko fit the NH35 in the SKX line? I give props for Invicta using the NH35 movements they hand wind, and hack. Seiko can easily put them in their SKX line but choose not too since its the entry level diver and I'm sure 99% of Us would pay that extra $100 for a hand wind/hacking movement. Don't blame Invicta for having a better movement, blame Seiko for being cheap.
I’d say 70 percent of invicta is absolute tacky trash. Pro diver, and their Daytona homage line is pretty solid honestly. I don’t resent the price either. I bought a pro diver as a beater to wear on a cruise (didn’t want to wear my Tudor BB) and I enjoyed it thoroughly.
I actually have a number of Invicta watches and I have no problems showing them in my TH-cam videos. Your video is way off base on all account. Invicta makes a wide range of smaller vintage watches. I actually own an Invicta 23026 which you should check out since you've not done any research along with their other brand S. Coifman which I have a model SC0210. Now I do have some of the big watches that you complain about such as an Invicta S1 Rally 23109 , an Invicta DNA Urban 10407 and of course the one that you hate so much...an Invicta Reserve 52mm Zeus Bolt Magnum Model 26715 in all black with a red face. They are big watches but only on skinny little twinks such as yourself but not for bodybuilders like myself so it looks perfectly fine. I wouldn't even bother with responding if a dork like you had the nerve to mock my watch on the street. The measure of a man is not about what he wears or what he buys but his actual character. I would rather hang out with a good friend who has a 10 dollar than some snob who only cares about how much someone is worth.
My video is pretty spot on. I'll just copy my pinned comment since you couldn't be bothered to check it out. On top of everything I said in the video... As to "evidence" that Invicta watches suck balls, here. www.consumeraffairs.com/retail/invicta-watches.html - Plenty of bad reviews there. 200+ timepiecequarterly.com/invicta-watches-review/ Here's one where they mention that there is much user distain of the brand and also that the AVERAGE LIFESPAN of an Invicta is 2-4 years. My Casio World Time which I paid 27 dollars for has a battery life of 10 years. www.amazon.com/Invicta-Diver-Collection-Automatic-Watch/product-reviews/B001E96DHA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_hist_1?filterByStar=one_star&pageNumber=1 12% of the reviews for the Pro Diver are 1* on Amazon. That means 1 out of every 10 Pro Divers are complete junk. Is that the sign of a good brand to you? www.yelp.com/biz/invicta-watch-co-hollywood Average rating of 2 stars. Does ANY of that seem like a quality watch brand to you? Do you think Invicta would have such a poor reputation if they made quality watches? It's time to wake up and smell the coffee.
Any problems I've had were handled very quickly by Invicta but I've had a great experience overall over the year. I rate my experience by actually owning them. However, what irritates me is the comment about looking down at Invicta collectors in addition to saying that all of their watches are big ang ugly when there is a wide range of product. However, you fail to realize that some people need big watches. I'm a bodybuilder with 19 inch biceps and a 10in wrist so my Zeus Bolt Magnum looks right for me. I can go on the internet too and find negative comments about every company out there. I think that you're simply not manly enough to wear a real man's watch. Even though my channel is bodybuilding fitness and comedy...I think I'll make me an Invicta video.
@@VinceGoodrum I’m a bodybuilder as well and the bigger watches look great for me. The smaller ones are the ones that look out of place. You ever make that invicta video?
If I have my own business, which I do, I don't care about paying proper respect to any of my competitors. I just want to earn new customers, keep my existing ones, and make money.
My neighbor paid $259 for her Invicta , she needed a brief loan. It was discounted from $2.400. The pawn shop would only loan her $25 on the watch. WTH
It is a bejeweled Timex. It tells time but it is not any sort of investment. Wear what you like. There is nothing wrong with Invicta watches. You should buy one you like on sale and expect to change batteries once in a while. The watch market crashed anyway. You dont even need a watch, you can get the time from your cell phone. Just people fussing about NOTHING really.
philly eli yet the Submariner is without doubt one of the sought after watches on earth with used Subs going for 2,3 or more times the retail price. That’s demand. What I love about Rolex in general is the over-engineering. They’re not exhibition case backed high horology works of art but they are one of the finest pieces of engineering. They even smelt their own metals because Rolex are the epitome of quality.my watchmaker got a GMT into his shop recently that was bought new in 1974 & the owner has worn it everyday since. That’s 16425 days of wear & the only reason it was taken into a watchmakers shop was the bracelet was saggy & needed either replacing or re-pinning. The movement was fine so it only received new seals. This is just one of millions of similar stories that are testament to the quality of Rolex.
bogus696996 much in the same way everyone needs a $160,000 550 horse power car in their garage. Need has nothing to do with it. Human beings “want” things that make them feel good. I don’t wear watches to tell the time. I have an iPhone for that. I wear a watch because I like them.
judging someone on the watch they where makes no sense and Who cares whether they mark up the prices or they make you believe you bought a high price watch at a fraction of the cost. I like big watches and I’m sure other people do too who are you to judge somebody by the watch they wear Did you even take a survey to determine if and why people dislike or hate Invicta watches I guess this is why you have gotten so many dislikes. You sir are no expert when it comes to peoples fashion or taste in watches and neither am I. Although I do respect your opinion but in my opinion I believe there are more people that like Invicta watches than you think. I suggest that you take an actual pole/survey to determine whether or not people like or dislike Invicta watches for whatever reason so that you can actually verify the veracity of your statement or belief.
I sell a lot of Invictas online...while many of them aren’t to my taste, they are well constructed and come in a huge variety of designs...most watch purists don’t like them as they are way too big both in diameter and depth...not crazy about their swiss designations, especially on battery watches...I still like watches in the 42 to 45mm range...they do have some decent movements, especially the selita and eta movements...as far as phatkat, he is comically hypocritical and hyper sensitive when it comes to invictas and doesn’t seem to grasp what makes a watch desirable...but if his thing is enormous battery watches and it makes him and others happy, I believe people have a right to wear what they like...
I'm all for bashing Invicta, but a guy wearing a poorly fitting shirt with the three top buttons undone, a black t-shirt underneath and a couple of gold chains shouldn't really be judging anyone's style.
exactly, everybody hates on invicta because it's a sub $100 watch that fills the same shoes that a $5000 Rolex can, and looks just as good if not better while doing it. I'm waiting for the day that some pillhead rolls this fucker and then vibe checks him by stealing his Rolex, that $100 dollar Invicta ain't so bad when you consider that some druggie could run up and snatch it off your wrist at any second because it's flashy and they can get a quick buck for it at the pawn shop. instead of going home and crying because you just lost 5000 dollars you can laugh your ass off at the thought of the face on the druggie after walking into a pawn shop with a "rolex" and then getting quoted $50 for it.
The reason y I love wearing my invicta bolt watch because of the big chunky size and because of its unique looks I mean small head watches in my opinion is for women a watch of a man should me big like my invicta bolt
I really like my Invicta watches. I actually love the way they look and they work great. However, the one thing I dislike, is this crazy retail pricing. Also, Invicta hurts themselves in another way, importing into a country. In the US it's not a problem, but if you import this watch into a 3rd world country and they have to establish customs duties, they will often look the price up on the internet! So that's a huge problem if you paid $80 for the watch and on the internet the local 3rd world customs official sees that it's $795, then you're getting taxed on that $795, which is many times the price of the actual watch.
I happen to have both an SKX and an Invicta Pro-Diver, and I like both. First, they don't have the same movement. If memory serves, the SKX movement is an in-house, 7S26, while Invicta's is some other Japanese movement, probably a Miyota. My Invicta hacks, the SKX doesn't. Side by side, Invicta lasts longer than the SKX in power reserve. OK, it's a shameless imitation, with the Invicta logo slapped on the dial and name etched on the side of the case just about the only things that save it from becoming a complete knockoff. But if you stop thinking about its relation to a Sub and just look at it as a wristwatch., chances are you'll enjoy it like I do.
They make a lot of different versions of that Pro-Diver now. For an entryi level (mechanical version) watch it's not a bad buy. Seiko does make a hacking movement (but not on the SKX) however I'd rather enjoy an original design with it's own unique flairs and something that was built in house. Got an SKX for my birthday and have been wearing it lots.
All I can say is, if you buy a watch that is over $200 you are materialistic. And if you buy a watch in the 4 digit+ price you are a freakin a$$hole. Go buy a $60-$80 and be practical and spend the rest of your money that is probably going to feed someone or help someone help with their education. You're all as greedy as those who sell these expensive watches. Geez, who buys a watch that is almost a downpayment for a car or the price of a used car. SMDH. You RICH people cracks me up 🤣
Rolex, Jacob & co make watches only for super rich people. They don't want poor, middle class people as their customers. Invicta has a room for poor to richest people. They make watches for all income group. Nobody will tell you better than me who lives in a poor nation like India where Annual Per Capita income is less than $ 3000 per year.
There is “hate” on invicta because all the tough guy Rolex wearers are realizing that people can barely tell the difference between a 80 dollar watch and their 9,000 dollar watch.
i agree for the first and last arguments. msrp should absolutely reflect quality and rarity, and it makes a brand feel very disingenuous when they lie. however, as someone that has owned invictas, if you simply pretend the msrp is whatever the discounted price is, you are getting what you pay for. that to me is even more important. yes, there are gaudy invictas out there. but i think what truly makes a watch gaudy is the quality of materials, color choice, and overall design. disregarding watches for simply being "too big" seems to be a lot more of a personal opinion than an actual argument. many styles thrive off of excess and exaggeration. look at the rick owens cargobaskets and many of the diet butcher slim skin sneakers, for instance. you can argue it's unprofessional to wear fat timepieces, but not that it's inherently wrong. overall invicta is good for people that care about style but don't know much about watches. if you forget how hard they pretend to be a luxury brand, and avoid the gaudier pieces, they're a pretty solid economical watch brand.
andre romos inflating pricing to make your discounts look good is bad business n shady. They’re preying on ppl that unknowingly think they’re getting value n quality.
i agree, but that's not what i'm arguing. for people who do know, and know what they are going to get for what they pay, it's not always horrible. if someone's on a heavy budget and is looking for a larger watch it's not the worst thing to buy. i've never bought one, but i inherited two when my step dad passed away. they've been pretty reliable since, and my silver one only became a causality after a getting in to a slapbox.
I’ve owned Invictas n the fit/finish leaves a lot to be desired. At $200-300 do you really think they’re making an emphasis on waterproofing? My watches have this haze under the glass, finish is peeling off and bands break. My Rolex n Omega zero issues and I don’t baby my watches.
sounds like a hater to me. i dont see anything wrong with the auto pro diver. i mean its rocking a seiko movement. i dont think you have to pay more to get more. i love invicta. very affordable for what you get especially in the auto watches.
I don't know man. Yeah, most of the stuff they make I'm not a fan of either. However, I currently own 3 Invictas and to be honest they are excellent quality for the price that I paid. I am comparing them to the Timex and Casio watches that I own and are around $100 and my cheapest $80 Invicta looks and feels about twice the quality of the others. Another thing is that Invicta is targeting a market that is not being reached by many other brands. I love that Invicta is being artistic whereas other brands are staying safe with "boring" or minimalistic styles. Don't get me wrong; I like minimalism, although I can only take so much of it. It is nice to see something different. Lastly, guys with bigger wrists may want bigger watches.
I don't know enough about SO & CO to say they're as bad as Invicta but you just asked and that's a big sign. Cheap quartz watches are cheap quartz watches.
Depends on the price range. If you're talking Rolex you're talking well over 2k for a complete set. Any model. You could get a female Oris for maybe 700? Female Omega's are nice too. Maybe she wants a bigger size. That could make it more complicated.
Oh, and speaking of "homage watches", many reputable companies that are appreciated by the watch community and watch snobs alike are homages, I can name a dozen, shall I? If you are seeking truly original designs, would you not agree that (dismissing the homages) many Invicta designs are very original and maybe you don't like them, but how many ways can you put 1-12 around a dial and create a unique design?
Why Rolex watch margin is only 30% ? Well that's because they make very few quantity of a model. On contrary, invicta's quantity of a particular model is quite high.
Think you made a mistake. The Invicta Watch Company was purchased by the Lalo family while living in Panama at about the same time as you stated. Possibly they used Bank financing for the purchase but at no time since 1990 has the brand been owned by either a Bank or a corporate investment group. Israel Lalo moved his family to south Florida, Hallandale, and began having Far East manufacturing producing Invicta watches. Israel’s son Eyal became involved with the company after living and being educated in a kibbutz in Israel, and most retailing occurred in the typical discounters such as TJ Maxx and earlier bulk resellers. Eyal found the golden goose when he made a deal in the early 90’s with ShopNBC with included them hiring a grifter named Jim Skelton to sell on air. Skelton had been introduced to Lalo through his photography of Invicta watches, some of which can still be seen in old Invicta advertisements. The rest of the story is filled with huge success via ShopNBC, today known as Evine and Lalo traveling the world creating stories of Swiss ateliers hand crafting fine Invicta timepieces to a 3 story empty, dilapidated office building in Hollywood, Florida which was claimed to be world headquarters for Invicta. Lalo created a watch brand which NEVER made a single watch !
Christopher from 'It's Complicated' PRETTY MUCH ! However even TWO guys could NOT compete with Eyal Lalo’s capacity to lie and exaggerate on broadcast television about what Invicta was as a company and that ALL Invicta watches were really rebranded timepieces made in China, Malaysia etc. Today, Invictas “World Office” is Lalo’s house showing a dock and huge motor boat complete with colorful flags flying, a photo shoot set up and a desk for televising another HUGE “You will NEVER see this price lower......almost 80% off original MSRP !” He took a massive tax write off for selling his house to the company to be used as a “business asset” ! (His father and mother also owned a home in the same development setting on a navigable water canal in Hallandale ! To THIS day Invicta has NEVER operated a Service Department......thus their horrendous reputation regarding warranty, repairs, parts and service !
R Crotty I dont care how they price them.when a jeweler sells invictas ,they are no different than the rest in pricing.its stores like evine that does that, but they do that with every product.
Rod Schermerhorn NO idea what you are trying to say. Any individual who walks into a watch retailer who is selling Rolex, Omega etc. AND promoting and selling Invicta will find himself in WATCH HELL. 10 Invictas, under glass and with hang tags showing “retail” or “MSRP” pricing are almost impossible to imagine if the case has Brietlings or Oris watches etc. right beside them. THEY (the potential watch buyer) are about to get SCREWED royally if they like a 52mm Invicta and are ready to buy it ! NO MATTER THE DISCOUNT THEY NEGOTIATE WITH THAT SELLER THEY WILL WEEP HYSTERICALLY WHEN THEY RETURN HOME AND GOOGLE “THEIR” NEW WATCH FOR PRICING COMPARISON ! I can’t even IMAGINE this scenario EVER happening because even the dumbest consumer in the WORLD would be aware of the slimy reputation of INVICTA ‼️
I liked your video. I have returned a seiko because it wouldn't keep time. Completely turned me off of automatics actually. Do you have any recommendations for any solid quartz watches?
I heard something lately that Citizen is making a newer quartz watch that is actually much more accurate than even a regular quartz watch. I'm talking like 2 seconds a month or something. Which is cool!
Watching this in 2020. I own about 18 Invictas. I too get pissed off with the pricing games they play and am not exactly a fan of "Made is China", but their watches ARE unique, stand out from the competition, and I get compliments every time I wear them. Seiko is definitely a well respected brand but they cannot touch Invicta on design, especially with the larger size options (52mm+) that I specifically shop for. There is no other manufacturer that has a watch that can compete with a modern grand octane, sea hunter, thunderbolt or grand venom. That said, there are PLENTY of watches Invicta makes that I just won't look at, including the pro and grand diver, all their watches smaller than 52mm, Disney/Marvel and those going for under $200. You want to talk gaudy large watches you need to shop Diesel/Fossil and the fugly variants they offer next time you are the mall LOL. When you pick up a massive 58mm Invicta you FEEL the weight. Their Reserve line are quality builds that have been hand assembled and checked. That's not something you will find in a Diesel or Fossil. Invicta's nicest pieces don't even make it to the physical stores and get snapped up online. As for Rolex, the starting price for a brand new one is in the 5 digits, and more closer to $20,000 for something a collector or watch enthusiast would want to wear. With Invicta you don't need to be a millionaire to have an incredibly nice watch collection. I've bought brand new reserve diamond pieces for as little as $540 that if I wanted to I could have passed on for $1500 and made a generous profit - show me how you're going to do that with a Rolex, AP, Panerai or Hublot. You will find many Invicta collectors who get into the brand because they can get a great deal on a popular or limited production piece, sell it later for a profit or keep it in their private collection. If anything the sub-$1000 entry price of a high-end Invicta gets me into pave diamonds, tourbillons and mechanical automatics - variants that simply don't exist among the Japanese brands and are priced out of range for ordinary people when shopping "Swiss made". Another difference is that unlike some Swiss-built time pieces these are not "investment watches" - an Invicta is worth the price you pay for it. Finally, I am not an Invicta fan boy. I own Seiko, Citizen and G-shock alongside my Invictas. I have an Eco drive from 2003 still running on it's factory cell and a solar powered GPS watch with a pure digital display. They all make great watches if you know what to buy and what to look for in them. And no, the Apple watch is not something I would ever place in my collection.
Just because you own some grand luxury premium watch, doesn't give you the right to be a materialistic elitist about it, it's all about perspective, to me it's just a watch, it's like judging someone on what kind of coffee they drink, it all does the same thing in the end....
Like your channel's name suggests, it really is complicated, even though your whole rant is pretty straightforward. I actually agree with pretty much everything you bring up, and I am glad you are, but there are some decent watches among the Invictas, and if one does a tiny bit of research on the movement, they would realize that a lot of the nicer and higher end brands are using the same exact movement. The Sellita SW200 for example can be found in Invicta's reserve and sea hunter collections, and that same exact movement is in an Alpina! Except that you have to pay hundreds more for the Alpina. And yes I agree they're a bit over the top but if you care about the quality more than the looks, you can find a decent balance for a very acceptable price among Invictas. So I agree with what you're saying but you're leaving out the pros here.
I bought 2 seiko prospex recently and on one the chapter ring didn’t line up...apparently this is a known issue on that model and on another there was a speck underneath the crystal...so much for quality control
Do you really know how much the cost of manufacturing a watch is? If rolex can charge 9 grand for a watch that invicta can produce for thousands below that price that will work for years I say screw the fukn rolex name.
On every website (amazon, walmart etc) most Invicta watches have many reviews and overall an extremely high user rating. Also they are very affordable and have one of the best price to quality ratios. I have noticed that the people that hate Invicta are the ones that do not own any. Invicta providing quality lower cost options should be embraced, not hated. The more options and different price points in the market the better.
How much did you pay for each band? Can you send me the name of the website where you purchased your bands for your Invicta watches? I checked with Invicta 3 days ago and the bands that I need went up in price. That is ridiculous! I am going to be spending more on the bands than what I paid for those two watches if they keep on breaking. In the future if I purchase an Invicta watch I will only purchase it if the band is either metal or leather. That is a bad business move by Invicta in making great watches with expensive and poor quality bands that go up in price as the yesrs go by. Thank you for your information.
I’ll give two good reasons why a Pro Diver is a good choice over an Seiko with the same movement. First off it’s cheaper yet functions the same, I’d argue Seiko can be bad value considering their lack of sapphire crystals at $300+. Secondly, if you spend some time looking around there are hundreds of variants of the Pro Diver with different movements, colours, finishes, bezels, sizes and dials. You have so much more choice, I have four Pro Divers and all of them look very different from each other.
Those are fair points. Seiko should definitely start using sapphire. Although my SKX007 was a lot cheaper than the new Seiko 5. I had a sapphire crystal installed on it for pretty cheap. I guess you could do that with the Pro-Diver as well.
I kinda agree with this vid. I have 1 invicta and its a pro diver in gold with silver dial. I have many Hamilton’s and seiko watches and even some zeppelins and I honestly think the pro diver is a nice watch. It’s the 40 mm case not big keeps good time looks nice and was 90 bucks cant complain. But i do agree that they make some god awful big looking things that make me say yuck but all in all I’d buy a second pro diver .
I agree with Simucom Reviews, I know the MSRP game has been played for ages with Invicta, But knowing what you are getting and for the price you pay makes a difference. I own 116 Invicta, some purchased at @ $159.00, they are selling right now for $600.00. I don't pay mind at MSRP, I buy the watch I like (specially at the right price) love their attention to detail (hence, Invincible in detail) AND PLAN ON KEEPING MY COLLECTION AND USING IT FOR A LONG TIME....
I just purchased an Invicta Graffiti, it will probably be my only one. It is a fun watch, I spend lots of time in the visual arts circles, galleries, exhibits, and so forth it will probably get a lot of attention, those folks are not horologists they are artists they will love it, and it will be a good conversation started. The one I purchased has Swiss movement. Having said that I agree with you, I have a small collection of Bulova Accutrons tunning forks, including the spaceview known as the UFO, and the highly sought after Ed White model with original box & papers. But hell what is wrong with having a little fun sometimes, and not going broke in the process. Happy Thanksgiving 2020.
1 mans trash is another’s treasure. We all have opinions and honestly nobody should care what anybody thinks. If you dig it that’s all that matters. If they have a good business strategy we should compliment a successful timepiece company that is challenging Apple smart watches as the dominant watch on everybody’s wrist.
The thing with the Pro Diver is that it makes a good beater watch. It’s the watch you’re not afraid to get scratched up, to take a swim with. With something like the SKX or a genuine Rolex Submariner where prices are only going to increase, no one is going to be using them for what they were supposedly made to do. I’m willing to bet 90% of people who have Rolex Submariners would freak out from just the thought of getting it wet.
This guy thinks he knows about watches just because he compares Invictas to Rolexes. What a poor choice of a background for your video and what's up with your wardrobe 👎
Im not following the margin argument. Is there an analyses any where that shows the bill of materials on the pepsi rolex is $6000 and the BOM on an invicta is $5.
Think about what most watches sell for. About 20-35% below their MSRP. I think that's fair. Where Invictas well for about 90% below their MSRP. It's all intentional, of course. Go into a Ball AD and they're going to start at MSRP but places that sell Invicta's (Like JC Penny) immediately tell you that they can discount heavily before you've even negotiated. Deceptive if you ask me.
Well now, Heromex in China makes Invicta Watches. Page 7 of this link will show you a screen shot of Heromex not only bragging about making their "swiss watches: but also Glycine, now owned by the IWG. watchlords.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=34470&hilit=glycine&start=150
@@itscomplicatedwatches Do you really know how much the cost of manufacturing a watch is? If rolex can charge 9 grand for a watch that invicta can produce for thousands below that price that will work for years I say screw the fukn rolex name.
@@hennybogan59 I agree that the cost to manufacture a watch is much less than Rolex can sell them for but let me inform you on some things you do not know. Rolex has their own gold foundry, their own steel foundry, etc. They make everything for their watches themselves, how cool is that? Invicta certainly doesn't own their own gold foundry. Especially since their watches are plated, not solid gold. Sure Rolex might seem like a really expensive watch, but they hold their value. Buy a Rolex Batman with a Jubilee bracelet that just got released for 9200 dollars and it's already worth 15000, Invicta doesn't have one watch like that. Period. I still think Seiko's are better mechanical watches than Invictas are but even Invicta makes some okay starter mechanical watches. They just don't hold their value, nor do they tell an amazing story like some of the higher end brands do. Cheers.
This comment section lmao Imagine defending modern Invicta when you can get better watches both design and internal wise for the same amount This was brought to you by the Orient gang
I recently got rid of my Apple Watch because it was annoying. So I wanted to buy an automatic classic watch. I don’t have a clue about Rolex and other brands. I found the Invicta Grand Diver on Amazon a hesitated to buy because I didn’t want to have a replica for reasons. But a coworker told me that many watch brands copy Rolex watches and charge 200 to 3800€ for that. So eventually I bought this watch and I am happy with the watch. Its my daily driver and looks good, is heavy and also looks valuable and far better than any Apple watch. Regarding respect: Rolex watches are watches. Why respect them? Rolex is not my world. I am Mr average. I totally see your point with the deceptive pricing. Thats a negative but nowadays people use Amazon or other tools for a better price.
Yeah I'm gonna take advice on my timepieces from a guy who looks like he bathes in soy milk all day long. Sorry pal, Invicta is a man's watch. Real men prefer their watches that don't come with a coupon for a free box of kotex.
"Invicta is a man's watch." is such a hilarious statement I'm going to pin your comment to the top of this video so many other people can see how ridiculous you sound, sir.
Jsanc2075 If you like Invicta, that's fine. But you offer no facts and no information as to WHY you like Invicta other than you associate Invicta with the gender identity of "real" men. Are you seriously advertising to the world that your identity as a "real" man is somehow dependant upon or related to or has anything to do with a piece of JEWELRY?! And did you really intend insult to others by accusing them of not sharing your rather fragile and jewelry-dependant male self-image? Bro! You need to think before you sound off! I was eating supper when I read your simple-ass responses here and you made a whole damn steak fry come out my nose! I am sure you are an articulate, manly, mature, highly intelligent, reasonable and well-informed individual who has excellent taste in watches. But it seems you are going far out of your way to give everyone else the entirely opposite impression. I am certain you will find it impossible to resist making a comment that will only confirm what I have said here. (And THAT, my friend, is how to troll).
I do admit I like to get some good laughs watching their Evine shows.. They even have a cruise.. U get people calling in claiming to own hundreds of them... The sad part is I don't think they are lying
Oh what about these guys who always claim someone came up too them and offered x amount of money? True story there was a guy who once called up Evine, ShopNBC at the time and was offered $10k for a Venom? I remember watching that and saying yeah right unless that guy was loaded and didn't care about money I was laughing my ass off.
except perhaps the guy who called in several years ago and mentioned he had almost two hundred invicta watches and then said he robbed bowling alleys to pay for them. LOL Classic
Gotta say that this was not my favorite video to watch. I think you forget that this is a free market economy and people can purchase what they want and wear what they want and they don't have to care about what others think. Personally, I got an Invicta watch 14 years ago on a whim and I still have it. It still works. It's been great for the $100 I spent on it. I've had several in that time & they've all done what they're supposed to do. Tell time & look nice on MY wrist. Anyhow. Hopefully, you'll try and see that they aren't as bad as you made them out to be.
It's confirmed...this is my new favorite video! Check out Phatkat Collection's channel if you want a good laugh. I gave Invicta a second chance recently but of course they came up short.
Of course they did. I know of that guy's channel. He's got a lot of passion for Invicta watches. Would be cool to see him flip 50 of them and buy like a Steinhart or an Oris or something. Cheers!
It would be cool of him to admit that Invictas are garbage and that they are the Yugo of watches. The three things that piss me off the most are the hyper-inflated MSRP's, the gaudy "I want to be a Miami nightclub owner" designs and the fact that they even exist.
Still love the Invicta, love being over the top and I have had nothing but compliments on the ones that I own. "Who the fuck is this guy and how did he get a channel?" Somebody's hiding something besides those small ass Mr. T starter kit chains under that shirt. Guess he's never heard the term "Its too BIG" used with his name in the same sentence.
As to "evidence" that Invicta gets negative ratings instead of positive ones... here ya go. www.consumeraffairs.com/retail/invicta-watches.html - Plenty of bad reviews there.
Honestly man invicta is not bad some big ones are not my taste but for the price from $300 maximum always get a deal they hold up I've got 7 of them never had an issue going on 5 years there pro diver was my first and it holds up to my seikos and bulovas I'd say try it before you listen to this snobby "I only like Rolex ehh" guy
I’d like you to know one thing before I say this: I don’t own a single Invicta Piece right now out of my 18 watches (the reason for the shortage is I’m a poor 18 year old with no job or car), I do on the other hand have 2 Luch Watches (Russian watch company with soviet roots made in a famous watch factory in Belarus, including one that’s crazy thin and a gorgeous piece, one Vostok from the 1930s (from the beginning of the Soviet Union, a solid gold accutron (I didn’t know it wasn’t fucking running correctly when I placed a bid on it) I have a fossil from my dad, 7 antique pocket watch movements most from Elgin (don’t ask). So I hope when I say (not just off of my meh watch collection, but more of my observations) that the pro diver isn’t trying to be a Rolex, they have “Invicta” placed all over the watch. Rolex has no patent on that style, everyone is free to use it however much they want, so long as they don’t put “Rolex” on it.
The Invicta pro-diver has a better Seiko movement in it then the Seiko skx has,so how is the Seiko better? The Invicta is hacking and hand winding, the Seiko isn't. I like Seiko alot but between those two models, the Invicta looks better and runs better.
@@itscomplicatedwatches The movement in the Seiko SKX is outdated and the Seiko movement in the Invicta does run better. There's a reason so many micro watch brands use the Seiko movement used in the Invicta and not the Seiko skx. Both good solid movements tho.
Well sure. They both keep good time. Neither one of those movements keeps better time over the other as far as I know. The SKX is an incredible watch for the price point. Not to say that for 90 bucks or whatever the pro-diver is so bad. It's a 90 dollar mechanical watch. It does what it's supposed to do. Doesn't keep amazing time. Isn't regulated like a Seiko branded watch but it's okay. I still like the Seiko more. Mine keeps excellent time.
@@itscomplicatedwatches The Seiko SKX is the better legitimate tool watch, I'm just saying the engine of that Invicta pro-diver is superior to the Seiko SKX engine. My gripe is if Invicta can put the superior Seiko movement in one of their entry level pieces then Seiko should be able to put it in the skx, especially for over $100 more. I own both and the skx hands down has better build quality but the Invicta uses better movement of the two.
The movements probably aren't regulated as well. Some short cut has to be being taken. Maybe it doesn't justify almost double the price but I'm sure there's a reason. Maybe Seiko sells Invicta ones that don't pass their QC at a huge discount? Who knows. I'd take the SKX any day though.
You are right. It's the deceptive pricing that I quickly learned about after getting off a cruise ship. Fortunately, I won the $600 valued Invicta on the cruise ship in a drawing. Of course when I Googled the watch, it was a $49.99 watch, so the cruise ship was out $25.
I purchased a $1200 watch and it didn’t work right. I sent it in when the postal rates were reasonable. After two months I called and three months I called. The watch came back with the same problem. I had taken micro shots & put em on my computer but I couldn’t see any difference. I don’t think they breathed on it. So my $300 was tied up. This happens at Tj Max where they jack the price tag up. All I got was a credit vs a watch that worked. I was one of the dummies. I love Chase Durer watches.
So he's saying that he hates the fact that invicta has "over the top" pieces but then gets mad saying that the diver watch is a rip off of the sub mariner, which is by all standards the most basic watch shape you could possibly create. If a toddler Drew a watch, it'd look like a sub mariner. I hate this dudes face.
I agree that Invicta has some fugly watches, however my pro diver keeps perfect time, the finish is beautiful, it's an actual dive watch, and I only paid $56.00 for it. Not bad for an automatic with a bi directional rotor that keeps perfect time. You're a bit off on this review ..
If yours is a mechanical Pro-Diver for 56 dollars that is a great deal. I hate the giant INVICTA on the side of the case but for 56 bucks? You can't even grab a Seiko 5 for that. Enjoy it.
I bought an Invicta and it won’t keep the time right. We sent it back to Invicta to be fixed. But when i received it the function to adjust the date had broken.
For me an Invicta Bolt is a nice watch. My $20 Armitron is more useful. It's digital, tells time, is easier to read at night without my glasses and if I break it or get tired of looking at it I can throw it away. But my really big 52mm Invicta is nice looking. I'm a big man and I think I can sport a big watch fine.
I love my invicta watches. But. my very first one I did fall prey to that price deception. I assumed it was an old model to justify the savings. Over the years I have learned, I purchased a $75 watch for 80 bucks. I still like the look and it can be in my wrist every day.
Whos to say big watches are ugly? This is 2020 aint nobody on that old ass plain jane shit no more. Has he taking a look outside lately??? Colored hair face tats body piercing and brightly colored clothes everybody's a cartoon character. ..🧛🏿♂️🧙🏾♀️©️

@@MotoPassion787 I agree 100% this guy is a self indulgent asshole. Let’s call him man karen watch edition.
The financial part and facts are one thing, but don't use your own opinion of not liking big watches as a negative thing. That's taste brother.
Daens Official , i love bigger watches
Me too
Daens Official wow I didn’t know a rainbow watch the size of an apple looked good...
wow I didn't know people can have their own taste of what they like...
Economics 101
steven gardner I have to laugh out loud when someone compares Invicta to Rolex
I sign at anyone who spends 10,000 bucks on a watch lol
Ares Apollo I was watching “Antiques Roadshow”. A women had her fathers Pro Diver that he bought in the 1950s. The watch was not new looking it had wear and tear. The expert told her it would go between 40 and 50k at auction. An Invicta would be worth $1.99.
I need better reasons than, "it's too big".

Wow! He judges people by the watch they wear. What does that sound like to you?
I wonder what people think, just walking by this guy on the street. Not paying attention to his watch. Yup!
This chump walking down the street:
Oh he’s not wearing an invicta and not a 9,000 dollar rolex, why is he looking at me!!!
Yup, this fucko showed to everyone how he judges people
😂😂😂
Exactly
Just by looking at him, i would think young buisness man, probably college educated. But when he starts judging me by what kind of watch i chose to wear, it goes downhill real fast! I guess if you want to spend hundreds more for a watch with essentially the same movement, you do you bro.
I'll rock my pro diver all day and rotate it between my other watches without thinking twice. Keeps time, looks good and was cheap. I don't see the problem here.
I do u cheap fuck
I got a green face pro diver not my best but for sure a favourite
Omega Control Amen🙏🏽
Love your reply....agreed
I'm not offended I got a flashy Invicta watch that gets compliments by people all the time for 99 bucks.
As long as you realize it's just the flash. Definitely not the substance. People like flashy things.

I love invictas but I love Jesus more!!
Exactly. Just because some watch snob gets butthurt seeing someone wear a nicer looking less pricey watch than them isn’t good enough reasoning.

I love my invicta collection.
Me too!
So do I!
They make a lot of fun watches
Same here!
Invicta the only thing that people “collect” and is literally worth nothing in secondary market
The problem with the higher end models people have is the design. That's why I think something like a Steinhart is a much better option.
PorscheGuy87 Good point.
I'd rather spend on a SKX, saving the $140 isn't enough for 3 bottles of wine when my wife drinks a bottle a day
@@itscomplicatedwatches he wasn't talking about how HIS watch is bad, he's talking about how the QUALITY CONTROL is bad.
Funny how it's complicated doesn't respond to you well said man well said couldn't agree more
1.) Asking 90% margin is absurd, whether or not it's at one place or one hundred.
2.) You can get a Seiko 5 for 80 bucks and that's an original Seiko with an in house movement.
3.) Quartz is absurdly cheap, chronograph or not. Citizen sells many quartz pieces you can get for 130 or less.
I did.

Didnt Rolex steal the design of the Submariner from Blanc Pain 🤔
Honestly all watches are homages in a way.
Sure did.
philly eli yet the Submariner is without doubt one of the sought after watches on earth with used Subs going for 2,3 or more times the retail price.

I sell a lot of Invictas online...while many of them aren’t to my taste, they are well constructed and come in a huge variety of designs...most watch purists don’t like them as they are way too big both in diameter and depth...not crazy about their swiss designations, especially on battery watches...I still like watches in the 42 to 45mm range...they do have some decent movements, especially the selita and eta movements...as far as phatkat, he is comically hypocritical and hyper sensitive when it comes to invictas and doesn’t seem to grasp what makes a watch desirable...but if his thing is enormous battery watches and it makes him and others happy, I believe people have a right to wear what they like...

instead of going home and crying because you just lost 5000 dollars you can laugh your ass off at the thought of the face on the druggie after walking into a pawn shop with a "rolex" and then getting quoted $50 for it.

So that's a huge problem if you paid $80 for the watch and on the internet the local 3rd world customs official sees that it's $795, then you're getting taxed on that $795, which is many times the price of the actual watch.
what do you think about the older corum bubble watches
I just oredered an invicta pro diver..what nato strap would you recommend?
Phenomenato is the highest quality NATO strap that I'e messed with that isn't a luxury brand. I'll buy the rest of mine from them for sure as of now.
i agree for the first and last arguments. msrp should absolutely reflect quality and rarity, and it makes a brand feel very disingenuous when they lie.
however, as someone that has owned invictas, if you simply pretend the msrp is whatever the discounted price is, you are getting what you pay for. that to me is even more important.
yes, there are gaudy invictas out there. but i think what truly makes a watch gaudy is the quality of materials, color choice, and overall design. disregarding watches for simply being "too big" seems to be a lot more of a personal opinion than an actual argument.
many styles thrive off of excess and exaggeration. look at the rick owens cargobaskets and many of the diet butcher slim skin sneakers, for instance. you can argue it's unprofessional to wear fat timepieces, but not that it's inherently wrong.
overall invicta is good for people that care about style but don't know much about watches. if you forget how hard they pretend to be a luxury brand, and avoid the gaudier pieces, they're a pretty solid economical watch brand.
andre romos inflating pricing to make your discounts look good is bad business n shady.
My Rolex n Omega zero issues and I don’t baby my watches.
comparing rolexes and omegas to invictas that cost like $80 is just dumb lmao.
compared to like, $80 g shocks and casios i'd say they aren't bad
sounds like a hater to me. i dont see anything wrong with the auto pro diver. i mean its rocking a seiko movement. i dont think you have to pay more to get more. i love invicta. very affordable for what you get especially in the auto watches.
The Pro-Diver is one of their only watches really worth a damn. It's a good piece though.
All good points. Thanks for the comment!

If you are seeking truly original designs, would you not agree that (dismissing the homages) many Invicta designs are very original and maybe you don't like them, but how many ways can you put 1-12 around a dial and create a unique design?
80's swatch watches were the last "original" designs I can remember
Why Rolex watch margin is only 30% ? Well that's because they make very few quantity of a model.
On contrary, invicta's quantity of a particular model is quite high.
All my invictas Break necks 😫
So Lalo was like the first MVMT watch. Horrifying!
Today, Invictas “World Office” is Lalo’s house showing a dock and huge motor boat complete with colorful flags flying, a photo shoot set up and a desk for televising another HUGE “You will NEVER see this price lower......almost 80% off original MSRP !”
He took a massive tax write off for selling his house to the company to be used as a “business asset” !
(His father and mother also owned a home in the same development setting on a navigable water canal in Hallandale !
To THIS day Invicta has NEVER operated a Service Department......thus their horrendous reputation regarding warranty, repairs, parts and service !
Man... the more you know. Thanks for taking the time to educate me. Probably another video idea RIGHT there.
@@itscomplicatedwatches thanks!
To each his own. The Invicta Magnum is a beautiful timepiece.
Don't need anyone to compliment my taste in watches. To each their own. I am a big dude so anything under 50mm looks tiny on me.
I like invicta, just because they fake Rolex watches and sell them for a cheap price 👌🏽
I’ll take my Bulova over the Invicta I have all day everyday.
Chris you’re gonna have to enter the witness protection program once Phatkat Collections sees this vid 😳😳😳
It’s an option I’ve considered and am prepared for.
Bugsy Malone 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
bugsy , i had to subscribe to them both cus of this comment LMAO
Bugsy Malone Bwahahahaha 😂 you’re so bad bro! Loved it!
Romy Dominguez thank you Romy.
30 % profit on Rolex $9200 watch? More then that.
Its about 900 $ to make.
Invicta has a whole 2 hour show on Shop HQ on Sunday nights. How many watch companies can say that!?
So they mass produce their stuff? Is that a good sign of value?
@@enriksouls6636 lollll. I'll say this... Their watches sell and they also have a yearly cruise
Enjoy the holiday!
You just shattered my thoughts of what cool was my friend. I'm just kidding I don't really care. I have big arm's only big watches suit me.
Mate, love your no nonsense approach. Love the language too. You speak Australian. Subbed!
I mean you swear a lot. Keep it up.
+Adam B I knew what you meant, ha! I don’t swear as much lately but I’m glad you enjoyed it! Cheers!
This guy thinks he knows about watches just because he compares Invictas to Rolexes. What a poor choice of a background for your video and what's up with your wardrobe 👎
I know much about mechanical watches. If you want to support a company that asks 800% over what their watches sell for; that's your business.
Everyone that disliked this video owns an Invicta and are crying

Cheers.
This comment section lmao
Imagine defending modern Invicta when you can get better watches both design and internal wise for the same amount
This was brought to you by the Orient gang
@@itscomplicatedwatches you're free to do so, but it won't be as ridiculous as your asinine video.
They’re trash, how are they always on sale for 75% off? You’re just hurt because you have one.

What’s your take on the Bulova Super Seville homage?
It's an automatic watch with a Swiss movement and they're not super cheap either.
Stein hart has a homage to the submariner and I think the invicta looks better
I appreciate the info you provided. I'm new to watch collecting and am learning as much as I can to make the right decision
I remember watching that and saying yeah right unless that guy was loaded and didn't care about money I was
laughing my ass off.
Kevin C haha that is funny ... When I hear those calls I feel like most of them are really lonely people
steven franko I also heard a rumor a while back most callers were paid testimonials?
Kevin C I have to believe it too
except perhaps the guy who called in several years ago and mentioned he had almost two hundred invicta watches and then said he robbed bowling alleys to pay for them.
The three things that piss me off the most are the hyper-inflated MSRP's, the gaudy "I want to be a Miami nightclub owner" designs and the fact that they even exist.
that guy is deranged. if you say anything criticizing his shit tier brand he goes nuts in the comments
Who's deranged? You mean PhatKat Collections?
MAVERICK WATCH REVIEWS yes
Still love the Invicta, love being over the top and I have had nothing but compliments on the ones that I own. "Who the fuck is this guy and how did he get a channel?" Somebody's hiding something besides those small ass Mr. T starter kit chains under that shirt. Guess he's never heard the term "Its too BIG" used with his name in the same sentence.
As to "evidence" that Invicta gets negative ratings instead of positive ones... here ya go.
www.consumeraffairs.com/retail/invicta-watches.html - Plenty of bad reviews there. 200+
timepiecequarterly.com/invicta-watches-review/ Here's one where they mention that there is much user distain of the brand and also that the AVERAGE LIFESPAN of an Invicta is 2-4 years. My Casio World Time which I paid 27 dollars for has a battery life of 10 years.
www.amazon.com/Invicta-Diver-Collection-Automatic-Watch/product-reviews/B001E96DHA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_hist_1?filterByStar=one_star&pageNumber=1
12% of the reviews for the Pro Diver are 1* on Amazon.
It's time to wake up and smell the coffee.
yes ilove invicta
Was in the fence about getting a prodiver you swayed me man. Definitely getting one now 😂😂
To each his own, friend.
What do you know about taste I own invictas and Patek as well it's what you like stop being a snob
How much model. No 20281 invicta pro. daver
Looks like they run about 80 bucks.
The Invicta pro-diver has a better Seiko movement in it then the Seiko skx has,so how is the Seiko better? The Invicta is hacking and hand winding, the Seiko isn't. I like Seiko alot but between those two models, the Invicta looks better and runs better.
It doesn't run any better at all. The SKX007 just doesn't hack and hand wind. Doesn't mean it runs any worse than the Invicta.
Pretty evident from the likes vs dislikes people don't hate Invicta.
I love my invicta have 2 will purchase more have 3 years no problem
For similar pricing mechanical Seikos are more reliable and stylish.
I love my invicta watches.
But. my very first one I did fall prey to that price deception. I assumed it was an old model to justify the savings.
Over the years I have learned, I purchased a $75 watch for 80 bucks.
I still like the look and it can be in my wrist every day.
