I saw XXX at a theater with a hundred co workers. When Rammstein came on stage half of us jumped up and RAGED in the movie theater. It was magical to see so many of us knew the song and the words and very unexpected to see this totally impromptu RAVE!
The 'Till-Hamer' came into being when Till Lindemann had to undergo many knee operations, after which his right kneecap kept dislocating and by hitting his thigh the knee was put back in place. Paul saw that and said that Till should do this more often because it looked cool and that's how it became a trademark of Till Lindemann.
I did not know who he was until Aftershock '24. I commented to a friend after the show that "Don't know what I just watched...bizarre AF, couldn't understand half of what he was saying, but the I like his voice and the band/music was pretty amazing"...looked him up and saw he was Rammstein. I'm old school metalhead from the early 80s and NWOBHM, but never listened to them. Such a shame for me now, because I became an instant fan that night, and think of all the missed opportunities to have seen them.
Right. I'm late to the Rammstein party too. (Knew of them since Du Hast but just never really looked into them any further) I just think back to how much I've missed. The multiple opportunities I've had to see them. Now I'm 56 and waiting with baited breath for another US tour that I will do whatever it takes to get myself to one of those few stadiums they play at! I'm in between Chicago and MSG. The song was not written for a boxing match, it was written as an entrance song for the boxer Vitali Klitschko, whose surname was also the working title of the song. Also Till has stage fright, that is one of the reason for the stage show to keep eyes off him a bit.
