Excellent video - thank you for this! I had no clue about the Marathon series/universe until I saw the trailer for the upcoming extraction shooter iteration coming soon. It’s neat that it has such a rich lore.

I think retconing the 3 month period after Marathon 1 into lasting longer before the return of the Pfhor would be an interesting set up. It wouldn't that much of a stretch compared to what they did to redesign the xolony ship, and it might even give the game a kind of doomsday feeling like what Halo Reach had.
That's a cool way to spin the story. It's interesting to think that in keeping with canon they can feasibly do anything. Guess that's easy once you've opened the multiple timelines/universes element.

Marathon infinity did rewrite stuff, so likely they'll use that to retcon the colonies destruction
I can see that being the case. Its the easiest reset button so that theres no issue with any original story line, they can just make a new one. I don't mind that too much to be honest. I still want a sequel to Marathon 2 tbh.
Infinity didn't rewrite anything. Those were alternate timelines

@@86pp73 I get what you mean, and I agree. Its a part of the story line and not an out right retcon. As far as story goes though, it is some what strange to be without the main character and in a different timeline. Its already strange that we are getting a Marathon that is not single player. It's all new territory!
