This was a private concert in her backyard mostly people in the music and theater industry. It was a fund raising event, Barbra knew almost everyone in the audience
Sir Barry Gibb is the incomparable legends composing songs for other artists. He has a kind heart not greedy of his talent rather sharing it. God given human
It was a surprise and added bonus that Barry was there. Just imagine!! He wrote and produced the songs on her Guilty album while also singing on them. They sang together on the album, but this is their first time performing together on stage. Their connection was electric!! Great reaction!!
Guilty was Barbara Streisand's biggest selling album initially selling 20 million copies. The weird thing is that if you take away her vocals you realize that this is actually a Bee Gees album. They produced it, wrote or co-wrote every song, provided the backing vocals, played many of the instruments and did the arrangements for every instrument. Plus you have Barry singing a duet on 4 of the songs. Streisand is a great talent but this album would not have been as good or as big without the massive Bee Gee involvement. The Bee Gees were so hot during this period, a period when they didn't put any music on their own, they created hits and come-backs for dozens of artists, all from behind the scenes. A great example of what else they helped create during this period was "Islands in The Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, a near total Bee Gees production. The Bee Gees (all of them) were complete talents in all areas of creating great music. you would be hard pressed to name any area where they did not excel.
They had to go underground because of the disco backlash which they did not deserve. Too many so called artists jumped on the disco bandwagon after the success of SNF, and so much of that music was terrible!!! That is why people grew tired of that kind of music. The Bee Gees follow-up to SNF was SHF which was not a disco album! People blamed the Bee Gees for the disco movement because of the success of SNF. After the success of SNF every artist and their mother came out with disco songs which were mostly terrible. The disco backlash against the Bee Gees was very unfair! The Bee Gees Living Eyes album was so far from disco. In the 80s they were forced to go underground. The only way they could get songs accepted was by writing and producing other artists. Those albums written and produced by the Gibb/Galuten/Riichardson team were very successful for the Streisand, Warwick, Rogers, and Diana Ross albums. They also wrote, produced, and sang on Celine Dion's song Immortality. Robin wrote and produced the Jimmy Ruffin album with some success. Barry and Robin also did solo albums after producing the previous artists. They were definitely keeping busy!
I always know when Barry writes a lyric. It's like he is talking with someone. A Relationship conversation. Robin mostly writes about more abstract things. Mo is somewhere in the middle.
It was a true surprise when he walked out. I remember watching it on TV and thinking his vocals were a backing track. I just about fell out of my chair with excitement.
2 of the biggest superstars ever.. wow I love them both..so beautifull..if not to say..perfect.. youth who see this should realize..that we will never see something like this amazing performance again.. (aside: Barry was 40 and Barbra 44 there.. ) ;)
Barbara asked Barry if he'd like to write something for her. The result was a successful album for Barbara. And successful songwriters for the BeeGees. Cool i love this Duett 👏👍🤗 High performace and Quality
I am so happy Chad that you found the Bee gees, especially Barry Gibb. They're my ultimate favorite group of all time. You give the best reaction to their music they deserve. Barry, and Andy where my teen idols I'm 55 now and I still listen to their music everyday. Yeah the best songwriters to me ever. It would be my dream to meet Barry Gibb.little late now. But, a woman my age can still wish. Barry Gibb is the ultimate
I'm 50 and can remember being very small and getting Barry and Andy confused on TV. I always thought that Andy was Barry doing a song by himself. I knew the sound of their voices, but 5 or so year old me was positive that those two beautiful men were they same guy. 🤣🤣
Barry Gibb in all his glory! Beautiful man! And I love Barbra's voice! Barry is quite the songwriter! (Barry is swaying but not really dancing & yes, Barbra is rocking!) That 2nd song was perfection! I've heard it many times before, but to see it performed live - wonderful! Great reaction! ❤❤❤
In 2005 Barry wrote another album for Barbra called ( Guilty pleasure ) . It was the follow up of the first album . Try ( come tomorrow ) from that album . It's a masterpiece .
My heart My heart My heart. I am as pleased to see Barry in all his fineness walk through that band as I was 35 years ago. Two brilliant performers. And Chad, I so agree with you. They are storytellers. (I won't start with the white outfit. Oh Nellie)
The album was a huge success for Barbra Streisand . It toped the charts for along time with songs like ( Guilty ) , ( woman in love ) , ( what kind of fool ) . Listen to the studio versions , they are something else .
I’m with you. I would be going crazy. They’re amazing. I wonder if the crowd even realized how lucky they were to hear and see this performance? No, I bet it was just another performance for them. I would have given anything to have been there.
Two iconic voices from back in the day. They got together at a certain place in time and made one of the most brilliant albums. And they did such a fantastic job with the arrangement. Talk about class in modern music. Thank you for sharing Chad for bringing back this lovely memory.
Barry said Barbra made him very nervous. She's such a perfectionist. Barry said when they wrote the" Guilty"album they really wanted it to be perfect for her. The album did not disappoint.

I want to start out by saying that you are my favorite out of all the reactions that I’ve watched and listen to and has subscribed to..... I love YOUR reactions!! I love how your heart is and I love the fact that you also can feel their music.... I thought I was the only one EVER to feel that way..... I’m so glad that I’ve had a chance to find your channel and subscribe to it..... Thank you so much for playing the BEEGEES!!! They will ALWAY’S be one in a million!!! I love them guys forever.... Back then they were my favorites and I was such a different little girl than anyone else! Everyone else liked faster up beat music while I was loving them and Barbara Streisand 💕💕 But that’s ok... It just showed I had no problems showing my feelings..... Thanks again...... You are my favorite on here!!!💕💕💕💕💕
Lisa, thanks for your feedback and positive vibes on the channel. It means alot when my viewers interact with me so I know their heart and feelings, and in turn can serve them better. There are so many professional reactors on TH-cam with much more experience than me, but thanks for your support! ❤
Amazingly gorgeous, and the chemistry is incredible m! And I’m so lucky at my young age I was able to watch Barbra Streisand live ( twice ) with IL DIVO and with her son Jason Gould as one of her guest performers on stage. She’s the ultimate diva of all divas. People from all walks of life came to watch the show ( SOLD-OUT) and the tickets weren’t cheap, but her voice or show was priceless. She’s different, the greatest storyteller and mesmerizing. And we’re at the second row ( front seat ) my cousin was crying, her two friends were crying too, while me grasping for air watching her belting high notes, still in awe inside the arena listening to this incredible voice. It was an experienced of a lifetime, seeing her in person the actress, and listening to her as the singer, was a double-treat. Incomparable. Streisand is a legend, and I concur when I heard from other big stars and musicians that this woman is being considered to be the greatest female vocalist of all time. Hat’s off! And thanks for reacting. Ciao!👍👍🔥😊
The Brothers wrote all songs on the album where these 2 songs a from. The album is called Guilty from 1980 and the biggest hit from the album was Woman In love. In 2005 Barbra released the anniversary album called Guilty Pleasures and this time the songs were written by Barry and his sons Stephen and Ashley. On this album there is 2 more duets between Barry and Barbra called Come Tomorrow and Above the Law. Great songs to listen to.
Uh, no-- Mo only wrote with them one song-- He was busy on his solo commitments. Robin and Barry did writing on 5 of the ten songs, Barry and Albhy Galuten wrote 4 songs-- one song was just Barry"s. Barry did the backup on some (there were three backup singers hired for other tracks). I just learned that the PTB at the studio wouldn't let more than one BEE Gee work on backup because of the big expense.... so-- just Barry. Check out a recent pod cast by "WORDS" here on YT -- where the two host discuss background history of the making of GUILTY the Album as well as analyze the tracks. GREAT STUFF!!
This was a fundraiser held in her backyard (thus the smallish crowd) in 1986. She had just established The Streisand Foundation (supports environmental, humanitarian, civil rights, etc.) and this was its fundraising “debut.” As far as “moving” to Barbra, pull out her albums from the 70’s starting with “Stoney End”. She did a lot of experimentation during those years with rock, gospel, soul, disco, etc. She got a lot a flack for it, but also sold 55 million albums during the decade. Just think this gorgeous hunk of a man has been married to his sweetheart for 50+ years. Barry is a true gentleman and sweet soul. He has never got over losing his brothers. He was in quite a fund for for awhile but his wife encouraged him to get back out there. Barbra is a true class act and in her on league! Enjoy your reaction!
Beautiful and so much talent. Watching Barbara shake her head reminds me of Mo in the dvd By Request Only. Funny. Barry was gorgeous here. He is such a humble and generous man. Yes Chad great storytellers. I’m spellbound! Too notch!
I got this album when i was 11 years old and its still one of my favourite albums of all time. Its full of timeless classics that outshine todays singers.
When the One Voice concert VHS tape was released I had to purchase it.It is beautiful.A benefit for charity in Barbra's backyard .A star studded event. What a wonderful production.Watched it over and over.
Watching again as this just took me to another world. You mentioned storytellers. Yes! As a matter of fact most of The Bee Gees performances show them as storytellers.
During the post disco 80’s, the Bee Gees “took a break” and the brothers focused on other projects, including (mostly Barry) writing and producing this Guilty album with Streisand, Kenny Rogers Eyes That See In The Dark, Dionne Warwick Heartbreaker, Diana Ross Eaten Alive, and some for Andy. What a way to take a break! Robin even did three solo albums and one for Jimmy Ruffin. (I LOVE his Where Do I Go!!). During the Kenny Rogers project, the Gatlins did backup on a couple of songs. That led to Barry and Larry Gatlin writing 2 songs together, then they brought in one of their idols, Roy Orbison, to do a duet with Larry Gatlin. It’s called INDIAN SUMMER, and there’s footage from the recording of it that shows Barry, even though he mostly produced on it. Good enough to be included on Orbison’s greatest hits. I think you would like reacting to it, and I would definite like watching.
D P. Indian Summer is a great song with 3 outstanding performers: Roy Orbison, the gatlings, and Barry Gibb. It is beautiful. Thank you for reminding me about that song I haven't listened to it in a while I guess I'm heading there now.
If I remember correctly, this was a fundraising concert (on her lawn.. I could be remembering this wrong, lol) with a TON of famous people there. Barry was a surprise, but you know the wealthy, lol. I would have been screaming from the cheap seats. 😂😂😂😂
You said it Chad. Barry here gives us another proof of his versatile skill. Together the Brothers can cover all musical genre, so Chad why don't you forget all your others reactions and convert to the one and only Bee Gees faith 😉?
The audience is by invitation only and held in Barbara's back yard. If you watch closely Barry was nervous. Barry is so hot in white (or in black or in blue or in ...). 🤤 It's been a while since I heard Who's sorry now. Barry's voice is amazing, he can match Barbara's voice note for note which says so much.
I'm very far behind on these but I love it! Your reactions are awesome. You make me glad I grew up in the 60's and 70''s! We had the best music! Thank you for making a 66 year old woman feel young again!
Oh yes, I so remember this playing on the radio back in the day!!! I've actually never seen this " live" on stage like this. Very good! I love the recorded studio version better tho!!!
Hello Chad, how are you?🙏 I've seen your video's of months ago because i discover your channel not so long ago. I"ll look more....perhaps every day now. My english writing is not so good, sorry for that, because i come from the Netherlands. I like your video's en comments of my boys Gibbs, as i call them, so great. So thank so much....go go go Chad🎊😛
Well, Chad, in the late 80's, as I saw this mesmorizing concert on German TV, I thougt, nomore ever could be a better duet done. But I'll beg you, to check out the Barry Gibb concert in 2009, Sydney, Australia, Sound-Relief Fundraising because of bushfires. That's been overwhelming! Some songs, he sang together with Olivia Newton-John. Check out them together in the end of his phenomenal presentation. The couple of songs are "Guilty" and Olivia was also on board, when "You Should Be Dancing" took place. The crowd went crazy and it was such a triumph.

Two of the best voices on the planet - her whole Guilty album was fantastic.
Barry has always been such a classy gentleman. Love not just his voice, his music, but his professionalism & humility.
This was a private concert in her backyard mostly people in the music and theater industry. It was a fund raising event, Barbra knew almost everyone in the audience
Yes, the camera panned to a table with composer Burt Bacharach, his wife Carole Bayer Sager, a lyricist & songwriter & sitting with them, James Taylor

One of the best duets ever. Two beautiful voices.

Yes, they were "hot" behind the scene only, due to the "backlash" issue, if i'm not wrong.

others reactions and convert to the one and only Bee Gees faith 😉?
...jokes apart... another great one is "Hideway" on the second LP Barry wrote for her, (and i've never been into Streisand at all!)
Always love this song remember seeing this special live another they did was" What Kind of Fools" Barry also sang with Celine Dion.love and peace.
The audience is by invitation only and held in Barbara's back yard. If you watch closely Barry was nervous.
Barry is so hot in white (or in black or in blue or in ...). 🤤
It's been a while since I heard Who's sorry now. Barry's voice is amazing, he can match Barbara's voice note for note which says so much.
Honey, Barry is hot in pajama pants and a stained T Shirt. 😅😅
Fell in love with Barbara when I saw Funny Girl. Music wonderful.
This is awesome Chad, I've seen this at least 1ooo. Times. Never get tired💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
What a performance. You could just get lost in them.
One word "Promises",Barbra Streisand and BeeGees on backup vocals.
Barry wrote and arranged the song specifically for Barbara
A reação do locutor acima, quando Barry Gibb entra com a segunda voz, só faltou levantar da cadeira de tão feliz.
legends but Barry sure makes me smile
This must've been some type of American benefit concert. She said he's not American and he said I wouldn't miss this great cause.
See poster above: "Sep. 6, 1986, an invitation only, Democratic political fundraiser, in Barbra’s Malibu back yard."
I'm very far behind on these but I love it! Your reactions are awesome. You make me glad I grew up in the 60's and 70''s! We had the best music! Thank you for making a 66 year old woman feel young again!
Barry n brothers wrote the songs on this album..beautifully talented Barry💜💙💚💙❤
Perfection!
Love it. Make it Like a Memory by Barbra Streisand is an awesome song you might like too.
Oh yes, I so remember this playing on the radio back in the day!!! I've actually never seen this " live" on stage like this. Very good! I love the recorded studio version better tho!!!
Barry said she was scary. LOL
You, Sir, are moved by beauty in its many forms. It touches your heart and lifts your soul. It's in your eyes.
Bro....you are on the right track...keep going!
I had this album. I think I wore it out I played it so much! Does it get any better than Barry and Barbra?
❤❤❤❤Just WOW
