Absolutely love your pond buddy👍 the tempest does work well at what it’s meant to do, but for me there are too many flaws. I will be building an up flow filter my self at some point soon hopefully without the problems of the tempest.
Tbh Phil I have never had a problem with mine and does exactly what it says on the tin other than the price tag they are a good bit of kit 💯👌👌👌 and mine gets cleaned every other day 😱
@@LeTwistedOne I’m really trying to stay positive with it but for me the flaws just outweigh its performance😞 all I’m seeing now is a £250 product that just isn’t as reliable as it should be.
I've had similar problems with the valve, I've had one replacement but the problem now is that after 10 seconds it stops gurgling all together and just drains out with without cleaning itself.

Check the seals in the top gate valve, it’s probably leaking just enough air to stop the non return valve on the air intake working😉
