Honestly, Bionicle dead space sounds really good! Maybe someone could make up some sort of plot about the makuta talking over the red star or something!
I enjoyed the line about autocomplete QTEs. The accessibility push in the industry is genuinely making games better, regardless of if you have disabilities or not. I'm fully able to do this shit, but who am I trying to prove myself to by doing QTEs, taking fall damage or playing on hard mode?
I remember in certain cases, they would make me feel more invested in action scenes because I was involved in them. The indirect control of watching a glorified movie and tapping a button here and there to avoid nasty things happening could be fun, but... they're hard to get right, I suspect. Too often they become either too obvious/trivial, or too sudden and complex. I'd say Quantic Dream do them best, mostly because their whole games tend to revolve around them, which means they can set patterns like "this button usually performs a jump", "this one will be a grab/climb", etc. Instead of "Wait, why would it be B to block in this event, and X to dodge? That's the opposite of the game's usual controls!" Even worse is when the button input is random. The only skill being checked is lightning fast eye-to-finger response time... which not everyone has, and some of those of us who can mange it are like "I can do this, but it's not particularly fun, and it makes me miss the actual scene while I'm staring angrily at where the button prompt pops up".
@@hazukichanx408 The Quantic Dream stuff works sometimes and some of the controller gimmicks in the Supermassive Games games occasionally. They do those things to immerse you, though. It's the exact opposite of most games that take you out of the experience. Mashing a button to lift a door doesn't make you feel like you're actually doing it and in some instances, you can't watch the glorified movie because you're looking around for button prompts like in God Of War. I'd argue that QTEs are detrimental in 99/100 games.

Hot take, Hero Factory made better use of the CCBS than G2, and I'm not talking about the aesthetic of the parts being a better match. The entire conception of CCBS is that armor attach point and limb attach points are the same, and that means that smaller sets get to be fully posable with a basic skeleton, whereas bigger sets can make a complex lattices of flexible joints, like say building up realistic shoulder blades. Because even the smallest links still had a free ball joint, armor could still be layered on these larger woven structures, and with technic pins still accessible you could still tie in older Bionicle parts or make certain parts still rigid with classic technic lift arms and bars. Compare the Larger and non-humanoid Hero Factory sets to anything from G2 and you will see that this is exactly what they do, creating interesting non-standard skeletons and layering the existing armor pieces in interesting ways. But lets be honest here, the G2 Toa weren't badly designed, in fact they were great, the gear function was well integrated and the posability and stature of the models was good. No, the real issue is that they made next to no new armor or accent/texture pieces for the series. And that's like the whole point of that third layer, to give different series unique textures, but I guess after the mask and weapons they didn't have the budget. But if thats the case, why even bother trying? Presumably a big reason Lego dropped Bionicle is because they were shying away from series that heavily relied on new and unique molds for every season, why try again if you know that the greebly, kitbashy, texture is what made the series iconic? Regardless, I wanted to mention what CCBS SHOULD have been able to do, because while I can seriously praise the Toa, the bad guys sucked, there were barely any Rahi, and no vehicles, but Hero Factory had all of that, meaning it was not an inherent limitation of CCBS, just a total lack of confidence or ingenuity.

I hated this DLC so much. I thought the devs were going to explore Cole’s cult and maybe even have you fight him as a mutant for the final boss. There’s a low chance there’s going to be a sequel so making Cole the final boss could have given some finality to the title. But instead, they double down on Jacob’s guilt and have Waller constantly chant at him to keep fighting. Such a lame send off.
For the price of one diablo 4 horse armor bundle, you too can play a 90 minute adventure of the exact same sifi hallways and non-gameplay from the main game!
Are you telling me that after paying 80 bucks for the "deluxe edition" You get a couple of ugly costumes and an awful DLC that is the actual ending of the game but cut off and sold separately for 16 bucks where I can dodge dodge hit hit dodge dodge over and over in the same looking dark corridors again 7 months after the release the game? It's what I breathe for!!
Better than horse armor
@@discoaliceyou did basically just describe dead space right there buddy
@@johndodo2062 You're really gotta compare this flop to the dead space remake? lmao (that doesn't have DLCs)
Calisto protocol is the prologue to the entire Bionicle universe.
Ngl you should actually play psychonauts 1 and 2 though
2:27 My man, try navigating the skill tree in Kingdoms of Amalur. Nothing can beat that clusterf@ck.
Putting the roodaka rahkshi head boob attachment step on screen is crazy
I cant wait for the sequel where jacob comes back as darth callisto and only that other girl from the boys can talk him out of his murder trance
I always thought the Company Logo on the upgrade stations was a Hamburger!
I didn’t know they could afford to make dlc
Take a shot every time he says "Callisto Protocol" challenge
Just remember to get your affairs in order first
Good thing I modeled my drinking growing up after Winston Churchill
If Callisto gets added to gamepass, it still has to compete with every other game on the service to be worthy of your time. Considering all the Yakuza games are on there, I think that's a long shot.
Rather dead space on game pass
Yak only when I'm feelin weeby
New Dead Space is on gamepass, lol. But hey, if you still overpaying for ps+(like me) then you can play the hit game calisto protocol
This channel is my go to sleep comfort channel, but I've watched each video multiple times now. Please clone yourself
You would like pongsifu and grimbeard
This is the funniest commentary ever. This video alone has dynamically added 3 extra years to my life.
These are the most realistic in-game Bionicles ever.
"Oh no its hero factory."
It's just like Dead Space 3, but this time it only took them one game to paywall the real ending, that's impressive!!
Wait what? The game was all in Mr Callisto’s head as he was dying from Being-a-Torso Syndrome?
But that’s stupid!
The games true ending is behind a paywall. *Asuras Wrath enters the chat*
Not only Asura, Prince of Persia (2008) did the same thing.
@@hiddenshadow2105 did not know that
@@Sithplayer Now you know
(Dead Space 3 also did the same with DLC ending)
Honestly, Bionicle dead space sounds really good! Maybe someone could make up some sort of plot about the makuta talking over the red star or something!
0:52 i always knew you were a man of fine taste and culture oboe.
Tbh I totally take autocomplete qte's any day... I like them almost as much as complex ammo and equipment repair systems...
That's the opposite of the game's usual controls!"
Even worse is when the button input is random.
I don't get the people that complained it makes games easier. Don't turn them on?
@@56bturn A lot of dumb, but vocal, gamers out there. I went for trophies quite hard on the PS3 and I've beaten a lot of hellishly hard games, but I'm 28 now; why would I put myself through an objectively worse time for no reason.
Get me an easy mode in Dark Souls From Software.
The very existence of this game is such a tragedy. I’ve never been so deeply disappointed in a game as I was last December.
Ironic that both Dead Space 3 and Callisto both have a real ending locked behind DLC
I'd legit already forgotten this game existed tbh
Regardless, I wanted to mention what CCBS SHOULD have been able to do, because while I can seriously praise the Toa, the bad guys sucked, there were barely any Rahi, and no vehicles, but Hero Factory had all of that, meaning it was not an inherent limitation of CCBS, just a total lack of confidence or ingenuity.
they pulled a "it was all a dream", how low can you fall?
Can’t believe this came out 5 months ago 😂
The crusher in the air vent reminds me of Galaxy Quest
I absolutely love the hero factory bits. You rock
looks like john callisto is gonna be a dreadnaught.
my favorite part about callisto protocol is that it was supposed to originally take place in the PUBG universe until the devs found out that PUBG sucks
I feel that Callisto protocol is like Asura's wrath: both games ended with a cliffhanger but neither was a commercial success so they basically decided to end everything with a DLC.
The difference is that Asura's DLC ending is really fucking good while this....meh
Also Asura’s wrath is an actual fun game
@@leviticusprime4904 On one hand the gameplay was really dull but on the other hand i was enjoying the madness and the story so much that i didn't care.
Could have been an anime and i would have still loved it.
You weren't kidding, bionicle music really did make that action sequence better
TH-cam age restricted the video because you said hero factory was bad. Hero factory gang forever
You have my support
Hello Mr. Oboes Hoes Games. It brings me great joy each time you mention bionicles. 🎉
Hoes. Lol
You made a Bionicle reference so that’s an automatic like
He made a reference to rahkshi head breasts. Auto like
You missed the best part of the DLC lore, that confirms that the evil cult behind the game's events is Kallipolis, the evil cult that does the deathgames in PUBG. The entire game is literally a Battle Royale on a space prison to find the winner winner chicken dinner.
6:15 "Unlock the hammer"
What, not going to make a Hammerlock reference? I'm disappointed.
Ngl... I was kinda expecting a jump scare at the end to make up for the ending L...
Thank you oboshoes for your sacrifice
oh my god they actually did the worse ending possible.
How can I laugh at this? There's no The Dead Speak!
Oboe and other roast videos should be mandatory watch for devs after they put out their garbage. This will filter out those without the mental resilience to continue working in the industry and do better. Yes, I am aware that it's mostly publishers to blame for the current state of affairs. Devs, however, have demanded and gained a lot of benefits in the past. They, however, care nothing for consumers, just like their bosses, and have never demanded to be allowed to make good games. Well, it's time to change that.
Reminder that DSP defended this game with his life XD
Now that's a name, I haven't heard in a long time. A long time.
Would Callisto Protocol qualify for the top 10 best snow in video games?
The snow is probably the one thing in this game that looks good in this game. Sure the graphical fidelity is exceptional, but it feels wasted when half of the game is grey sci-fi hallways
One of my greatest “I’ll pass” games.
Callisto protocol becomes a dreadnought at the end, I wonder what chassis he's going to be interred in?
I wonder what's worse: this unnecessary DLC or Forspoken's DLC which tried to set up a sequel?
Also, you should try Slayers X, Oboeshoes. For some reason, I think you'd like it.
The Dead Speaks in this video.
Oh yeah this one's doing Numbers, Tahu really is the best
Wow , I feel like everyone lost in this deal
I lived happily having forgotten this steaming pile of dung, and then you remind me...
The kinetic hammer unlike all those non kinetic hammers
Glad to see people hating on this. I saw too many simps trying to say the ending was good and was a good redemption for him.
