- This stock appearing 52 Chevy Styleline Deluxe Bel-Air has been upgraded with a GMC 302 c.i. 6 cylinder engine, deuce 2 bbl carbs, 3 speed on the tree, electronic ignition Split Fenton 3x2 cast headers, dual exhaust, and heavy duty radiator with Smitty mufflers.

My wonderful brother just bought me a 1951 chevy deluxe two door hard top, it has always been my dream to own a automobile from the 50s since I was 17 now I'm 29 my brother is 28 and my dreams came true he owns a 1959 edsel corsair two door hard top we both just adore the 50s for its music ,movies , fashion, and its automobiles.

One of my school buddies inherited a car just like that when he turned 16. We called it the Green Pea. Nice roomy car to cruise the old gravel roads sipping a beer and having a smoke.

Old faithful Chevy never let its owner down. It kept on going. It was easy to fix when required. Here in India back in the 1950s car owners swore by the Chevy

In the 1980's I bought an unrestored original 52 BelAir with 54,000 actual miles. It was black with a deep red leather & gray cloth insert seats. It had the 216 cid motor with three on the tree. If you got the Powerglide automatic transmission, you got the larger 235 motor. I replaced the ring gear and pinion with one for a Powerglide which was a lower gear ratio. That made highway travel much easier on the little 216 dipper. You could drive 65 mph with no problem. A very nice driving car and with that lower ratio rear axle, at 55 or 60 mph, you could get 20 to 25 miles per gallon. Sold it unfortunately, but you can't keep them all. Turned around and bought a red with black vinyl top 68 Impala 2 door hardtop with 22,000 miles on it and a 300 horse 327. Much faster but boy did it like guzzling the premium gas!!

Yes, it is the emergency/parking brake lever. Pull it out to set the brake, push it in to release.
Im going to look at one to day same car blue and white hope it looks hafe as good as this one had one when I was 16, dad bought for me 63 years ago.
I'm the second owner and the same owner on my chuco52 ranfla Ride over 38 years and counting ! Yes they are bel air Chevy hard top deluxe model GM started this line of model in 1950 ! My ride came original with the automatic power glide transmission og GM loaded from the dealer ! And I have dual exhaust with galsspacks 12" . My style ranfla Ride .

I have one 52 hardtop for sale in Mexico, but mine has 4-doors :) after seeing this video, Im not sure if I´ll ever get to reach this perfection.
My father had a 1952 Chevorlet Deluxe 2 dr. sedan. It was a good car, strongely built but the problems he had with the car was the carburetor and the distributor. It was the old Chevy carburetor and it had the distributor with points. Those were the weak parts those days. My father's car broke down a few times because of that. By looking at the video, this car has up to date carburetors and electronic distributor. They didn't have it those days.

Appreciations K&S. Had a 4 door around 66-67 when i was chasing the girls. Dad told me that their sugar would be just as sweet in that car, as it would in a new one, and i wouldn't have to spend so much time working to pay it off... thus i could spend more time taking them Girlios' out. He advised me however to be sure and keep my pocket knife in my left pocket whenever they were sitting next to me. Asked Him why? Said so they wouldn't warp the handle. -gilpin 4-17-16
What's that chrome handle underneath the ignition switch? Is that the emergency brake lever?

52 Bel-Air Hardtop was only 2nd to the convertible.. I own a 52 hardtop..and hardtops are rare and hard to find these days.

That is a bel air. Its a hardtop with 3 piece rear window, no post. The full name is 1952 Chevrolet Styline Deluxe Bel Air. I own one and have the original documents to prove it. Mine also happens to be the same base color as the one in the video.

A week point of the 52 Chevys was the quality of the chrome due to the Korean war.
We had a chevy bel air coup dark green with white top I am not sure of the exact year 52, 53, 54? This was in North Jersey my mom's car and she kept it into the 60's but the entire car was rusting to pieces I remember as a little kid born 61. My old man had a 59 impala black exterior with the red interior. I loved both of those cars they were STYLISH.

I think all cars that year had crappy chrome, unless they had stainless steel instead of real chrome.
60 percent of 1950 Chevy Deluxe has 3-speed manual transmission, including the "Bel-Air" hardtop.

Double duece This car is a Chevy Deluxe, like it says on the rear fender , NOT a belair !!!! All people seem to think all chevy's were belairs !!!! NOT true !!! Belair was the top of the trim line, and deluxe was just below it and then the just plain jane el cheapo version !!!

Dual carburetors were not stock about year, also stock motor used Babbitt bearings they could not take the RPM. Hopefully that motor has been upgraded dual quads and a lot of RPM will ruin that motor. 1954 they use bearing inserts much better motor so if that cars for sale it's not worth as much as he wants cuz it's not all original

wanderley Chevrolets standard 6 cylinder engine back then was a 216 cu in with a low pressure rod dipper oil system that was very sketchy at best.....engine was known for its knocking rods. Different engines were swapped like this one which was a HD GMC truck 302 cu in with a full pressure oiling system. it was 86 cu in larger and a much more robust engine and it bolted right in !!! Another GM engine...Like swapping a 350 for a 265 !!!!! MORE POWER !!! Most common swap back then was a 54 or later 235 cu In chev engine, another bolt in !!! I did that swap in a 53 Belair 2 dr HT, yes a real Belair and I did the same swap into a 52 business coupe !!! Made a huge difference. On the 53 I installed a 56 235 that a friend of mine pulled out of his 56 and put a 265 V8 in. went from 108 HP to 140 HP and yes it was very noticeable !!!

@@56cadd Not any more !!!!That was 50+ years ago !!!! Yes I swapped in a 1956 235 6 cylinder mated to the three speed trans. in a 53 BelAir HT and I also did a 235 swap into a 52 business coupe.

They had automatic transmissions on those vehicles but the automatic transmissions were not very trustworthy. I know, I lived those days and I saw it. People bought cars with automatic transmissions and after a few months, they took them back and ask for vehicles with manual transmissions. Now 2013, the automatic transmissions are so much better, better transmission designs, better oils, better maintenance, better everything.
Putting dual exhaust on a six-banger is like putting lipstick on a pig.
I wish they’d bring back colors like this. Car colors are so boring now: Black, white, gunmetal, silver, and gray. Yawn!
