sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot the account password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Cason Nelson Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hi from England. Good, clear tutorial. As the video card of my PC just scrapes into ‘minimum requirements’ (and I can’t afford the upgrade!), I would welcome a guide on tweaking audio/visual settings to optimise the game experience. Cheers.
Good timing! I've been interested in starting this game and started watching your other tutorial series on it in preparation. It'll be good to have an updated one too with smaller episodes in case I don't understand one particular thing I run into. Much appreciated.
Great to see you do an updated tutorial series. Your original series was very helpful and I look forward to seeing this one as well. I've been playing since B126 and I set the game up much as you do, so it's always fun to watch. Thanks.
I forgot to mention. The helmsman would surely be doing the inputs on the Torpedo Data Computer (TDC), and perhaps not just a regular sailor attached to either of them, but that is just a surmise.
You win a new subscriber. Thanks for taking the time to update your tutorial series! Other videos that I was watching doesn't match with my version. I bought #UBoat few days ago and felt completely loosing.
Bought ages ago but just downloaded, looking for up to date tutorials and BANG, this pops up. Thanks salted. Please do longer vids though, will watch your initial series but could do with more than 15 minute snippets 🙏🏻
Hi, If you ask me, they kind of dropped the ball on the crews ability to enhance the user experience. Whether the Captain (that's us) is competent or not, the crew shouldn't rely on us, we need to rely on them. Having to give the soup a stir on our way to the engine room doesn't add to the realism, nor does having to tell them to pump the bilge when we're knee-deep in seawater. Micro-managing every detail is the Captains prerogative, but isn't even remotely necessary for a ship to function efficiently. We call out some coordinates, range, heading, speed, they tell us when the tubes are flooded and wait for the command to fire. As soon as the fish are away, it's our job to use all our cunning abilities to keep them out of danger. They know when to sleep and eat and the Chief knows what we need to buy and the Navy pays for everything. I haven't played this game but, wouldn't it add more immersion and glory inherent in our survival when we're the Skipper? I just assumed we would have the option to eliminate the other ships Captain when clearly we're in charge and no body tells the Captain what to do. What is it that he does anyway? I mentioned this last point to Wolfpack345 but it is what it is I guess... thanks for these helpful tutorials of yours.
Hi Salted (lightly) I am new at this and your patient videos and upgrades are much appreciated. I haven't watched all the new postings but I have heard you mention that you are not sure about this helmsman position and what it does. I think the key to that--as it stands, or as the devs intend--is in the position taken by the helmsman in the conning tower. My guess is that this assumed position is only useful in periscope attacks in that that the helmsman can immediate effect the attack periscope officer's commands and have them obeyed below--course heading, speed, depth. He also has the rudder and compass bearings on hand as well. The attack-periscope officer is busy enough on the periscope and does not need to have to use voice-tubes or shouting down the hatch to get done what he wants. He can quietly give commands. I look forward to your observations on this. Keep up the great work. DR - Montreal
Thanks very much! In practice during gameplay, not having a person on the helm has small effects on how the boat steers. Hard to spot, but it seems to be there.
Thanks for the updated tutorial! The Steam sale + quick updates from the devs make these videos awesome! Keep it up! Your first series was super well edited and pro, keep it up!
Indeed, dark nights is impossible. I started with patch 128 a new game with100% realism but the dark nights are no fun. I saild alongside the ships until dawn and then started attacking. The real uboats preferred attacking at night due to the cover of darkness. I will restart with dark nights off thistime. Great video.
Pro tip for save mode: I keep it normal but just save at port, it’s kept on normal for me incase the game bugs (you’ll find a lot of bugs over time) with the auto save mod of course
Saves dont acualy save your data ther buged. Some times you load you have hurt crew and ther is none. also your crew will stay in bed and never go back to work no mater what you do to get um automaticly you have to do it manual from then on. Ships still fly through the air subs keep shoting dead ships, Ships gun you unrealisticly, its still a big mess that needs a lot of work.
Nice videos!, VERY good idea making a new tutorial series, really enjoying your productions. I´d like to ask at this instance if there is any such hot key on the keyboard for getting to periscope depth at once. I mean rather than clicking on the respective icon or depth gauge; like in SH3 o SH4 u can use "P" for instance. Thanks for any answer or advice.
If ya ever think about getting Wolfpack let me know, I would definitely jump in a sub you're commanding any day. I just added you on Steam, I have the quarky name pretty hard to confuse with others lol
Coming from playing and enjoying Silent Hunter 3 to trying to learn Uboat and I'm finding it an incredibly frustrating experience. I love the graphics but the controls don't seem intuitive at all. I've just quit after trying to figure out how to view through the binoculars. I thought maybe it would be clicking on the person using the binoculars but no nothing. Maybe press B? Nope. Zoom in on uboat bridge to see if you click on something there? Again, no. I guess I'll load it up again and google etc to figure it out when I'm in a better mood but why should it be this difficult to figure out the simplest controls??
Not kidding about Darker Nights, it's like staring at a blank screen with a UI most of the time.
I don't even use darker nights and i can already barely see shit at night lmao

Happy to help! The intent with the shorter vids is to make it easier for people to search for particular topics, but I'll keep it in mind!

Skipper Mode is available for sure, it's just not my play style. Thanks!
Excellent work. If only every new game I started had a tutorial series like this!
Thanks!

Most sim games have a steep learning curve, true

@@ghostltk thanks very much!
I'm trying to understand how speeding up time to x6500 is considered "realistic". I would think realistic would mean you are stuck in x 1.
I mean...most people aren't going to be able to set aside entire days to watch the water go by...
How do I start the engines
