It was a failure for Nintendo and caused major issues to the eyes and stopped production. Mario '85 tells the story of Lucas, who gets trapped by MX in a haunted copy of Super Mario Bros. for the NES, taking the role of Luigi. Additionaly, Mario '85 (Formerly Mario PC Port) takes inspiration from Sonic PC Port, another fangame based around Sonic.exe. Also, every zone in Mario Madness' overworld has songs and/or opponents that follow a general theme; in this case, Content Cosmos features characters related to fan animations (Most of them being a more mature take on the franchise), while Hellish Heights features characters from the plumber's fan-made horror media.
Irregular Isle is pretty easy to guess. Bootlegs and "Versions of Mario that aren't the real Mario" which explains why you fight Chris Pratt. Also, Dictator’s opening dialogue is different from the original, “The Dreamcast sucked, Sega’s done!” Was replaced with “The kickstarter sucked, the team’s done!” And the shenmue that Mario uses to say that Sonic was trying to screw him over is replaced with the merchandise, so the song is basically related to FNF while the original was for Sega, pretty cool detail. Also, in case you didn’t figure it out, Mario is under the control of boos in the animation which causes him to go power hungry. Lastly, Mr. Virtual is actually created by StupendousSnart, not the any guy. So the Mr. V we see in the mod is most likely based on the real Mr. V and not the dumb version.
In Paranoia, the way the screen moves is what I believe is to be the way that the Virtual Boy itself gave you headaches and was just overall not fun to play on. Song's still a bop though, and the mechanics I really like.

Since I'm seeing some misinformation about Mr. Virtual I'll tell ya a summary of him lmao. So basically originally he was a circus man named just "V", after that moment of his life he became a serial killer which was killed or found dead near a Virtual Boy, and his soul was trapped there but he used this as an excuse to continue killing more people, giving them headaches n stuff like that. He was also created by StupendousSnart lmao.
Aside from GB being an original, (and thinking back in V1 he refs a game with a screaming tree) I recognize all these guys in this part except Super Bad Mario, cuz I initially thought he is instead a reference to the ending of Mario Bros: Las Estupideces 2 where a tiny SMW Mario beats the heck out of the person animating them dying again. I feel dumb thinking its that considering both this mod and that flash animation is gorey. But there is something not mentioned about Super Bad Mario in this video that I DO recognize and it took me a gameplay video to spot it. After idk how long Thomas anderson would eventually die at Mr. V’s hands Time for facts or smth 1. Mr. V can morph into any game character in the Virtual boy system but he is completely content with resembling Mario, but his weakness is if he morphs into a character he can obtain its attributes and weaknesses, like if he morphed into a slow character ofc he would be slow as well 2. He sometimes returns to the ruins of his circus when he possesses a new body, maybe staying there until his vessel rots 3. He has pet rat named scamper when he was child 🐀 4.samantha died on March 10/ Mario day/ Mar10 5. Since he can shapeshift, he can multiply his teeth, mouth, eyes,(possibly arms and legs..?) and use it in horrifying ways like in his right pose u can see he has alot of eyes in his mouth and eye socket

The bullet bill notes are a reference of how he killed sonic in the og animation as well as shown in the end of said animation. Race traitors: Kratos is in this animation and in the mod as well. No Hope - not sure if alot of people know this, but the scene references the ending scene of power star 4 with the placement of the corpses of luigi and peach. Golden Land - GB also has his own creepypasta called Black and White No Party - Tracing apologies is a reference to of course DJ's debut episode Paranoia - somebody already did this so yeh Overdue - The mario later in the song is called the Forgiven, where he is Mario after the events of the creepypasta. Powerdown - MX's false form is also from said game

In Paranoia, the way the screen moves is what I believe is to be the way that the Virtual Boy itself gave you headaches and was just overall not fun to play on. Song's still a bop though, and the mechanics I really like.

Facts: POV Lucas is the player of Mario '85, Lucas was a. Maybe 8-9 year old boi but got sucked into the game and is now stuck as Luigi forever and if you can see in gameplay he splits toad is half and he can turn into a fake decoy of Mario but odd not but far off the target and can lie to people or player I should say and then he probably lures them and earns anyplayer's attention and transforms into da big guy and kills and murders anyone and trust me when I say he is so or super should I say very feisty one very strong and dangerous and he is best friends with lord x from vs sonic.exe fnf bcuz you know they are both from pc ports so they were a lil feisty at first and became more softer on each other and became best friends
There is a leitmotif during the "Mouth" section in Overdue that seems very familiar, yet I can't place my finger on what it is. People also pointed out that the "Ice Land" theme is hidden in the song which is a pretty nice touch.

Since I'm seeing some misinformation about Mr. Virtual I'll tell ya a summary of him lmao.
So basically originally he was a circus man named just "V", after that moment of his life he became a serial killer which was killed or found dead near a Virtual Boy, and his soul was trapped there but he used this as an excuse to continue killing more people, giving them headaches n stuff like that. He was also created by StupendousSnart lmao.
Aside from GB being an original, (and thinking back in V1 he refs a game with a screaming tree) I recognize all these guys in this part except Super Bad Mario, cuz I initially thought he is instead a reference to the ending of Mario Bros: Las Estupideces 2 where a tiny SMW Mario beats the heck out of the person animating them dying again. I feel dumb thinking its that considering both this mod and that flash animation is gorey.
But there is something not mentioned about Super Bad Mario in this video that I DO recognize and it took me a gameplay video to spot it. Near the end of his track, he does the dance shown in an old gif that users like SMG4 use. THAT is a real callback!

So Mr V does have some lore. To sum it up, he used to be a kid named V taken in by a circus where he was treated horribly, and ended up burning it down. After some other stuff, he gets tracked down to a place where the Virtual Boy is being shown or something, and puts it on before being gunned down by police, with his soul possessing said virtual boy. He goes from V to Mr V.
Mr V can influence the minds of those who put on the Virtual Boy he possesses, even taking over their minds and possessing them for a while, but eventually their body will decay and once they die his soul goes back to the Virtual Boy. This is just what I remembered off the top of my head and I didn't bother to look up his wiki or anything, so if I'm completely wrong let me know
I think the super bad Mario song has some inspiration from a mix between an avicii song and the Mario world theme

So yes Mr. v was once a circus performer going with the name “V” that was going through a tough life until he snapped, burning down the circus and all the people he knew, turning to a life of crime he still kept the name “V”, he would mutilate his victims and carve the letter V on their bodies, his killings caught the attention of Detective Thomas Anderson and with no hesitation started investigating and trying to hunt V down, after months of trying to find him, V would be caught at May 13, 1995, he would later be shot dead and collapse near a nintendo stall where they were showing off the latest “Virtual Boy” system, unknowing to Anderson, V’s soul tethered onto the Virtual boy system, months after his death he takes on a new name “Mr. V” he was not aware of his abilities until a woman named Samantha heathers plays the same system Mr. V was in, he followed Samantha like he did with his previous victims, Samantha experienced a week of night terrors, hallucinations, figures running down the walls, etc. Samantha had serious paranoia, until one day she broke, allowing Mr. V’s soul to enter Samantha’s body using it as a vessel, the feeling of flesh and the breath of air, he LOVED it, but the vessel would fall short as it starts to rot away, and without any warning Mr. V was back in the system, probably because the body had already rot to the point where he cant use it again, and with his new found abilities he had one goal, Kill Thomas Anderson. After idk how long Thomas anderson would eventually die at Mr. V’s hands

1. Mr. V can morph into any game character in the Virtual boy system but he is completely content with resembling Mario, but his weakness is if he morphs into a character he can obtain its attributes and weaknesses, like if he morphed into a slow character ofc he would be slow as well
2. He sometimes returns to the ruins of his circus when he possesses a new body, maybe staying there until his vessel rots
3. He has pet rat named scamper when he was child 🐀

There was a kid named lucas who played mario on the nes. His nes mario cartridge was possesed by a ghost witch killed lukas and forced him into the copy of the game with the body of luigi. Thats why you see lucas instead of luigi. Anyways, the spirit that was possesing mario ripped out his eyes to attract any player, but lucas was his first. While he was chasing lucas, he fell into a hole, a deep one, but that didnt stop him,as soon as you traverse the hole he jumps out even bigger and chases lucas to the end where the little boy enters a green pipe excaping from mx. GB was a mess code created by a 25 year old woman called christine, her who had a mental breakdown and messed the code for a game for nintendo(as for as i know), her creating GB. After GB burned down the cartridge(the one who she experiemented GB with), she went to sleep, only to be a nightmare with GB. The next day, police went to her house to find her dead, only for that her blood isnt red and blood, but rather black gush(or something similiar).

After that he Wakes up into The Super Mario Game, in fact MX (maybe) killed Lucas and put his soul into the game, after that Lucas Noticed that all the Lucky Blocks Were empty, he goes more further and then he hears a voice that says "LUCAS" after he arrived at the Flagpole, he heard the same voice that said: "INNOCENCE DOESN'T GET YOU F A R." and we notice that Lucas then was forced to run because he saw a toad getting brutaly killed, Then the Poor Lucas had to Suffer For MX's Fun.
