Fun watch as always.... Just FYI... You could have eliminated the extra piece to lock it in (@ around 22 minutes) if you welded one hinge up and one down... meaning the bottom portion welded on the bottom set and the top portion welded on the top set. If that makes sense!
Firstly, regarding your "Jesus Fish" comments: AMEN!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent, humour and kitty...lol. All kidding aside, the gate is beautiful!
Cross the two flat irons at the angel you want, then weld them solid in middle and bend ends together. You have to cut at the right length to allow for length.
The gate door itself is very nice, but boy, it doesn’t match the house at all. We have that in my neighborhood as well, some people put up these chrome fences which don’t go at all.
Our Alro steel supplier in the Louisville area is the same way on price. Oddly enough, my steel distributer buys all their steel in bulk from Alro but charges me a fraction of the price Alro quotes.
what if you did a simple seagull shape over and over instead of the fish? just roll the flat bar in one continuous slinky and bend the middle of arcs that you cut. I waited to see what kind of welds you were aiming for just to see if seagulls would work or not and you did the same amount of grinding I would expect. plus the arcs would stay truer instead of springing back to straight.
I don't understand Alro's pricing. I got in and buy short bars or off cuts for blacksmithing and it's pretty inexpensive. Any online quote has always been like at least triple of every other company here in Central Florida though.
Being thrifty, I probably would have used the plasma table to plot the bending form onto a scrap of pallet wood, and cut it out on the bandsaw. Cheaper than steel, easier to throw away. 🙂 Nice gate, looked cool.
After watching how you have started to master your new plasma cutter, and your venture into perfecting the hanger process. I am asking how precise can this tool be? Can you make the pieces for historical sailing ships and weld them together for museums and private collections. There are not enough wooden ones to go around for all that need them. Yes it might be a niche.
I just want the lift arc guys to know im going to be terribly disappointed if there is not a safe opening video in the very near future. You can't bring up something fun like that and not follow through with. Just sayin....
Nope - sorry - don’t like the gate. Round organic formed rail … and you install such „edgy“ gate. The gate is beautiful and well made! Take a picture from some distance. Your eyes will be drawn to the gate - because its design doesn’t fit into the environment.
That sound when it shuts... *chefs kiss*

The black soot from acetylene will stop splatter from sticking instead of using the spray. Pipe welding trick to not mess up threads on pipe.
The prefambulated amulite logarithmic casing was a nice toucb
Now if you charge 8K for the gate, you're in good shape. Made in the USA
I was thinking the same thing, how many man hours went into that gate? Lol

Very unique design. Very nice job.

That’s what I was thinking too.

Really nice project video!
Yeah, those Lowe's and Tractor Supply bins are a scam. Luckily, I've got a big commercial hookup for my small scale hobby shop :D
Great build video, however, how much did this contemporary steel gate cost to put on their colonial shack?
Ahh yes, gotta love the technical jargon overload reference😀.
A small copper or teflon ring between the both part of the hinge woud make them much rust resistend

what make controller are you using on the shop saber?
Jokes on you, the 400 dollar square tube is actually made from unobtainium, and welds itself.
Are able to charge enough to cover all you development cost?
You are pure Einsteins!
Hey I am a lookin at building/buying a cnc plasma cutter and was wondering if with some amateur fab skills I could make some money with it

Just curious why you didn't make 2 if the spacers instead of just using the middle section?
Does your area not have code for "horizontal" fences, gates, stair ballisters, etc? Like they are easy to climb for kids?
Depends how physically fit the kids are
very funny clip you are the best
Doing a gate you need to check what it's being mounted to is level

Where is the link for battery pack
ALRO is absolutely rediculous on their prices, they are the same way in Indiana.
Dental office logo ? 😂
Awesome work, awesome job. Keep it up, as I don't want to have to kill you!!!
This must be a very expensive gate😬
Shop around for steel

Just weld the joint before bending
I miss reading the description.... guess not enough people read them.
Probably would've been easier to use the slip roll
Filp one hinge
$450.00
Did you get a Product Endorsement from Dunkin'?

Let's see your build videos loser
If you turn the level 180 degrees the bubble should be in the same spot, regardless if the surface is level
(If the bubble moves the level is bad)
