I was 19 then. We thought we were the epitome of fashion and style.
It was a fabulous time to be 19. ☮️💟
Those news briefs at the top of the hour are another thing you don't realize are gone until you watch shows like this!
Died
Wow this really brings me back!!!! Thank you.
I was 13, boy I miss those days!
Love these commercials. You’re amazing for doing this.
Notice no STUPID lawyer or prescription commericals and OMG I remember when Maybeline eyeshadow looked like that. That was when I started wearing makeup
No car insurance commercials either. The good old days.
Lol! Joanie loves Chachi. Pure corn🤣
Next year, "General Hospital" will celebrate 57 years on the air and surpass "Guiding Light" as the longest running soap opera!
One month away from my last day in elementary school. Good times.
At this time I was 7 and my mom was always watching GH when I got home from school. Makes me wonder if I was watching when this was recorded.
That's future "Supermarket Sweep" host David Ruprecht in the A-1 commercial.
I loved the 1980's ladies fashions. Look at them in the Ban commercial. I would wear them now, minus the shoulder pads of course.
We had to have our shoulder pads back then!!! ☮️
23:40 - Judy Graubart (of "The Electric Company") in the Ore-Ida commercial.
that jimmy lee from GH was very niceto look at
So this is what they were having on TV when I was born
Ryams Hope was so good!!!!!!
The show that was pre-empted was Happy Days.
I loved Ryan's Hope!!
So do you wear hanes socks?
Taken from KMBC-TV channel 9, the ABC affiliate in Kansas City, MO.
Joan Lunden's hair got even more serious in the 90s. And that Diet Pepsi girl WOW
Good evening am must be getting old I loves theses commercial 😁
2:57 (background music) Equinoxe Part 3 by Jean Michel Jarre
I WANT SOAP OPERAS TO COME BACK MY FAVORITE WAS ALL MY CHILDREN ❤️
Mine was too. In 1983 I was 13 and loved spending the night at my mamaws' and spent the summer LOVING daytime tv. Sleep in watch game shows in the morning and soaps in the afternoon and off to the pool. What a wonderful carefree life.
“Loving “.
I was 17 in 1983. Wow....I was a mess.....too much spending money, too much sex, too much food....I am glad I grew up and saw the the light...
Who's mom uploaded this video?
MINE DID AND I'M SO GLAD SHE DID CAUSE i MISSED THESE YESTER YEAR COMMERCIALS....THEY'RE "GREAT"!!!!!!!
Christopher Jones GODDAMN RIGHT
Mr. Hal Linden at 9:30 looking so Barney Miller.
My 4th birthday. Pretty wild. In many ways I’d just like to go back to that time with how things have changed. And yet, oddly, a lot hasn’t. Ads for junk food and drink like soft drinks and chips, conflicts in the Middle East, and TV shows that aren’t that great. At least back then you felt like the information that you got about things was legit.
bill cosbys PRIVATE home video stash lol
I used A LOT of hair spray, hair mousse and lots of make up (heavy on eye liner) back then. And shoulder pads.
❤💘❤
That baby is about 37 now.....
Michelle?
That's who she looks like but that may be a bit before her time. I had to go back and rewatch
mmmm pure 80s cane lol
7:38 RAAAAPE!
I like that Ore-ida commercial. Only funny one.
In the Diet Dr. Pepper spot (#11.) at 5:36 the girls are walking by the World Trade Center.
I only ask cause I wish to see some July 4th 1983 commercials, if you could, pannoni 8?
3:46 - Will Delilah and Bo's reunion be a happy one? Watch "One Life to Live" following an ABC News Brief next.
0:53 Phylicia Rashad?
This is cool, and I hope you eventually figure out how to capture at 30fps, right now it looks like about 15fps....
Bill Cosby & private home movies?? BAD combination!
Goolagong became Billabong and the rest is history.
Do you have the episode to AMC that day? Don't really care about the other shows.
Unofrtunately I don't. Whoever recorded it was obviously a GH fan as evidenced by the 20th Anniversary spots during some of the breaks.
Escapism is alive & well in 2020

Soaps are always trashy..
Maybe over the past couple decades, but soaps arguably were never more popular at the time. It was really cool to have a Soap Opera Digest subscription and even college students would watch them between classes. Then of course Dallas and Dynasty duked it out for the top-rated show in primetime, and both were very popular overseas. If it weren't for those and all the others, there wouldn't be a Neighbours or EastEnders. It started to go downhill in the late '80s when the writing started to deteriorate following a writer's strike, and then the rise of courtroom shows and real-live trials continued to put a wrench for soap fans.
may 17th 1983 the day the greatest team in history of team sports the ny islanders won their fourth straight stanley cup
