Nova 11249 4 4 396 It used to be in the rules that if you had mana left in the pool at the end of a phase it would "burn up", dealing damage to you in the form of mana burn. Lets say you cast a Dark Ritual. You then cast something with CMC 2 You have one black mana left in the pool. You go to combat. You just took 1 damage from mana burn.
NOTE TO SELF: Never make James have total control over an MTG tournament, just to prevent him from hogging all the prizes to himself. PS: Matt should have brought his laptop so he could do his homework while waiting for the next match to start

orzov would be op in this draft. everyone else has to compete for green, and black is completely open. This would've been a better draft if they let Kathleen and Cam play blue black
I don't think they would be op just for that reason, but also because there were some amazing Orzhov cards going around in that draft (Tithe Drinker, 2 Debt to the Deathless, Pontiff of Blight, Purge the Profane, there were probably others but those were the only ones seen).
These guys need to have an episode that starts off where Matt come through with his threat: 9:04-9:19. Kinda like what they did with "Time Walking" and "Here Be Dragons".

Yes. whilst Kathleen and Cam were secretly Dimir (and hey, who of us isn't), they were listed as Simic. That's 3 green guilds in a 4 guild draft. Orzhov only needs to share white with Selesnya, they'd have a huge advantage. Whilst Selesnya would be in the worst position, sharing Green with 2 other guilds (with Gruul and Simic getting red and blue entirely to themselves). The fact that Cam and Kathleen did go all Dimir probably actually improved the draft.

Do you really don't know how to draft? Well, it is like this: You and seven friends buy or get Three booster packs. You take one and open it. You pick one card and give the rest to the player to your left (of course everyone do so). You get a new pile of cards, pick one of them and give the rest to your left. You do this until each card in the packs are chosen. You open a new pack, do the same as Before except you give your remaining cards to your right instead. Do that until the cards are all chosen and open the last and do the same as the first pack. Build a deck with a minimum of 40 cards in using the cards you picked from the boosters. Guild figh seem to bet the same, except you seem to be bound to two colors, representing the Guild you are.

I've tried playing Dimir mill, but then Theros came out and then everybody killed me with aggro before I can mill them out. I've tried defenders and counters, but alas, it wasn't very effective. Now my deck is disassembled and I'm trying to figure out what to make a deck out of.

Not sure what you mean by bloodrushed for 6 mana. He bloodrushed for G, 1R, and 3RR, a total of 8 mana and made a 11/7 doublestriker - which is legal. Assuming he had the 4RRRG to pay for it, and I don't think they showed his lands.
Funny thing is that the magic the gathering tournament rules state that the last round may be decided like they did in this video wihout it being considered collusion.
I would be upset that Azorius, the most important guild, was not included in this, but I would elect James Turner as honorary Azorius senator for his uptake of the role of judge and upholding the law to the benefit of all lawful players. It helps that at the end of the day, the honorary Azorius won by doing its job. A+ effort for creating the draft rules to begin with and making them so complex. But I will have to penalize him for only pretending to be a judge.
I personally think Guildpocalypse sounds like it could be a selesnya thing because of Armageddon being a white card. Also, that's a lot of interesting Orzhov cards going around in this draft, too bad we don't get to see any of them played.

I stopped playing a few years ago. Right when the damage on the stack rules were changed. It made me pretty sad, it was one of my favorite mechanics.
I'm as confused as the Seleznia girl. How do you draft? What the hell happened to Magic since I stopped playing?
