- Sorry about the lighting and the (cat) audio issues. Let me know what you think the difference should be between unintelligible and inaudible whispering, or if it even matters to differentiate the two when "inaudible" is generally used as a blanket term.

Unintelligible: either plain gibberish, or pronouncing real words in such a way that they give off the sound of gibberish.
Inaudible: can be gibberish or real words that are more mouthed than said. It's like a super whisper that utilizes mouth sounds more than the vocal chords to create speech.
This is what I've come to understand from these terms, but I don't mind if the terms do get mixed up since I love both of these triggers equally.

Basic ASMR I have come to belive that unintelligible whispering is mostly using words that are spoken very soflty to make the consonants pop whereas inaudible whispering is mostly mouth sounds mixed with gibberish.

From my own point of view, each of these variations are unintelligible, only differing in technique to achieve that (muting parts vs total gibberish). I have, however, noticed that within the asmr community the difference is as you've shown within this video: where inaudible is viewed as normal-ish words with certain bits muted and unintelligible is total random gibberish. Ultimately, I don't think it matters how people refer to them. I find both of them very tingly and you're very good at both. I actually really like just the way you whisper quite quickly and repeat certain parts, it's really nice and seems totally natural.

My favorite inaudibles are uasually just talking shifting in and out of understanding and hearing, kind of leaving the viewer the piece together what you are speaking about. I find it very relaxing but much harder for many to pull off...

she wants attentionnn!!! :c im gonna cry. anyway, i feel the same way i personally do not think the difference between them matter. inaudible is, as you say, you can hear some of the words or sounds of actual meaningful words but in unintelligible you cannot understand it at all. so i find both of them really tingly. as i remember about unintelligible whispering an asmrtist once said that it includes actual words but does not even matter. kinda like "the glass jump through the mountain, said dude what you doing" :D some people think like this too but i think it is constructed upon meaningless sounds. anyway. thank you so much for this video.

If i want inaudible but get unintelligible, that is like wanting scratching sounds but getting tapping sounds.

I feel like goodnight moon does the correct version of 'unintelligible' whispering. It almost frustrates me about how close you are to hearing what she's saying, but its said in such a manner where u just can't put your finger on it. Adequate does a good 'inaudible' with more mouth noises meant to impersonate voice rather than actually talking

But unintelligible was just mouth sounds of words and you can’t understand any of it.

This exact video is everything I could ever want from an asmr video. The switching between unintelligible and inaudible is fantastic. Keeps the tingles going the whole time. I agree with you as well the bit of soft spoken thrown in is fantastic!! I managed to wake up today (Jan 1) with a pretty bad cold and just needed something to rest and this is perfect.
I think for me, unintelligible is when the person is saying gibberish whereas inaudible is when you are saying real words. Also of course the volume. Unintelligible can potentially be much louder.
The longer I watch this, the more I realize I like soft spoken unintelligible a ton!! But inaudible is typically what I prefer for the most part?
