@@VoGusProspecting Chris, Qld outlaws any style of machine based method, and is pretty leery on river sluices as well on public areas. I try to gather good cons and do the pump sluice in the back yard, where I can get the double benefit of possible gold and alluvial mud for the garden ;)
I have been going back and watching all your old videos. And I have a lot of respect on just how great a teacher you really are. You explain everything so anyone that is watching can understand just what they need to do. When they go out and prospect were ever they are. I have been whacking Dan Hurd, and Pioneer Pally, they are closer to my neck of the woods. But hands down you are a much better teacher.
Thanks, Chris! I love hearing how excited and happy you get from doing what you do: it's so encouraging. I've collected enough equipment to give it a go: a mini turbo pan & sluice plus a classifier - which I've had for a few years ... I was told it was part of a worm farm! I splurged on a yabby pump, after saving some $$'s by taking your advice & improvising with a few kitchen items. I was lucky enough to score a bag of Boxer Pay Dirt & I've been practicing heaps. All I need now is to find somewhere to try it out down here on the Fleurieu. After loading everything into the back of my trusty old Hilux on the weekend, backing out of my driveway, she developed a bad case of incurable 'ducks disease'. Enjoy your videos & how you add a good dose of humour, miss seeing Grizzly, & appreciate all of your advice. Tfs.
That is an awesome looking spot your working there Chris. The amount of water worn rocks, iron stone & chunky bits of gold tells me that the old timers were working a "leader" or maybe they were just working the fragmented section in that spot & your getting the "left behinds". Check that surrounding area carefully for any indicators of a missed leader such as isolated "soaks" away from that river bed. Those soaks are usually found along subterranean materials of former creeks that flowed into the main river bed your working. They might even indicate a previous course that river followed aeons ago. A great vid in a great spot. Good karma to Zoe & you.😀.
The only good thing about being on opposite seasons as AU, your videos help pass the winter months until I can get back to prospecting. Keep it up Chris!
Really enjoy your videos. For future trips to the creek, when a leech bites and attaches to you, sprinkle him with salt or touch a lit cigarete to his tail. The leech opens his mouth to scream and will fall off. This way the leech leaves a small wound that doesn't bleed much.
Was out chasing gold this last weekend with me mate. I've learned so much from you Chris! I found my best gold yet! 2021 is the year I start filling vials.

Love watching you dig up the candy. I'd love to see you get a real big nugget one day. Also, my wife and I adopted a 3-month-old Shih-Poo puppy. I'll give him a big scratch behind the ear courtesy of you.
In your mail opening I saw someone sent your some dental supplies. If you ask your dentist like I did, for old tools picks probes you will likely walk out with a fist full like I did. Easy to modify and made out of surgical Stainless and similar super tough thin materials. I don't use them for crevassing but for carving in Cuttle Bone to cast silver in. If you would ever like to cast some Gold I could walk you thru the process of Cuttlebone casting it would make great content. Technique dates back to 700AD. Minimal cost involved to set up at jewelry level I've got a decade of experience in silver, but frankly you can also just look it up on TH-cam. Simple shapes are easy to cast and you can use things like coins to make the mold with to make a copy of the coin in Gold ect. A small ceramic crucible, pouring handle, flux, cuttle bone, assortment of sand papers, small files, tape or wire, a couple of fire bricks or similar heat resistant materials, heating source capable of 1064c and you are on your way. You will need to learn how to season your crucible with flux.

1. How much is overburden above the clay? is there anything in the stuff near the top? 2. Why not one of the kinds of mat instead of miner's moss? 3. What's your new scale? How much was it?
