No one I know here ever does that to anything. All my British repair manuals have instructions to De-Coke. I have done it using automatic transmission fluid. makes big smoke! Your Mothership is beautiful!
Cheers Steve. Don't know if it works because I haven't got a bore scope thingy.
I bet that will help decrease the amount of buildup on the throttle blades causing any throttle lag that could happen later..Happy riding
Hi Noel, you need a job at the bike shop, we used to do that with the old clunkers but would add a little Mr.Clean, not sure if it helped or not, never did any harm. 100 x 50, 4x2,Hmm been calling them 2x4's my whole life. Good to see you in action.
Hey man you are going back in time.😄 Actually a lot of folk, over here, still refer to that size as "4 x 2" and everyone knows what they are talking about. Thanks for commenting Bob.
I have a K2 14 and I run 99 octane Shell in the UK all the time. I find that I can use less revs to get the same power as on the non-premium stuff. P.s. Beautiful bike. Mine used to be white and blue until it got changed to black :)
Thanks mate. Have sold mine now due to old age, that's me of course, because I sort of loved that bike . Wish I could have kept it in the garage just to look at. Thanks for watching and ride safe.
Interesting - some time ago I had a BMW car with a carburettor and it suffered badly with carburettor icing in the Autumn /Winter. So bad I resorted to using Silkolene PST in the Winter. One year I ran it into the Winter without adding PST and it didn't suffer carburettor icing. Contemplating the situation is realised I had changed my petrol brand to Shell V Max which seemed to have additives that cured the problem
I love work. I could watch it all day.
Nice one Noel. Never heard of that trick before !!!
You must love watching yourself Marty because I don't think you stuff around much.
Remember doing this on my opel kadett (carb) years ago, Used distilled water.
To be honest,I could not tell. The uncle of mine who showed me swore by it. Anything that came off the pistons were most likely caught up in the silencer.
really? How does that decoke anything?
@@MothershipVideos I'd have see it with an endoscope to believe any Carbone got removed in the chambers.. water/alcohol injection over time cleans up chambers & valves.. but over several thou Ks.. head off & tergo strip like new.. 🇳🇿
Why did you spray water and air in there?
I was spraying the water to, hopefully, clean any carbon deposits off the combustion chambers and pistons. I was useing the air to direct the water. Well that was the theory anyway. Thanks for watching old son.
Channel 33 with Spongie Surely nobody really thinks this decokes an engine!
Skeptical .. but if there was any carbon coming out of the pipe when you were revving it then maybe it works.
Nope didn't see any. I should have used a bore scope or similar to see any before and after results. Thanks for watching.
I need a video on how to clean injector. Do you have one?
No sorry mate. There must be something on youtube somewhere. Ride safe.
your lucky you didn't hydraulic a pot(water doesn't compress) ,ever heard of an Italian tune up,go and give it a thrashing
This does not work trust me. You need to do the job properly or not at all.
I decoke/rejuvenate my 14 by periodically riding it over a mountain range in 1st gear and smashing it deep into its rev limiter over and over and over for about an hour. Been doing it for nearly 10 years. Runs like silk. Rages like a bull. I've owned and ridden a lot of motorcycles, and the 14 is the greatest motorcycle ever made IMO.
Mate that seems a bit harsh on the old girl but they are a great bike indeed. Thanks for commenting and ride safe!
Definitely the best way to shorten the life of any motorcycle engine.. bouncing it off the rev limiter for extended durations 😂 well done 👍👍
