    I’ve been following you on Twitter for a bit. Video is pretty great and motivating. I’ve been on the infrastructure side for a min but I don’t really have the programming knowledge which is what I’m trying to get now. I’m just realizing I don’t love what I’m doing rn so I’m doing the Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform path. Only two weeks in and while I know I’m making progress some days feel tough, like yesterday with Go interfaces 😓. Anyways great content and I just subscribed and will be following.

    Should you be Linux Certified? I was looking at either Linux Essentials or Linux Foundation Certified Systems Administrator or LFCS. The reason I didn't mention RHCSA is, that IBM may get rid of Redhat no point in learning all that to do Linux with other options. Should you be AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate or can you be AWS Certified Developer? Also, I hear you need to know things like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Git / Git Hub, but do you need to be familiar or do you have to be certified in those? I am just trying to obtain at least my Linux, Cloud Certification, and Security+ that's all I was told to definitely have, but make sure your familiar with those containers,, and configurations systems.

      I have the same questions I'm just unclear of an ideal starting point especially with the purchase of Redhat by IBM? Is Linux Essentials .....worth it now?

    can you make a video of your tech stack you learned and what you actually use on daily basis! trying to get into this field but I feel like so much to learn and don't wanna waste time learning unnecessary stuff.

    • @OtherPeoplesComputer
      @OtherPeoplesComputer ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for this idea! I'll definitely have to do something like this in the near future. Currently, my stack is Go, Redis, and Elasticsearch. No front-end framework because I mostly just write a chatbot that handles incident management for my company.

    Great job man! I saw Alban tweet to you, so I knew you were legit. I've been trying to get into programming fundamentals myself recently... What resources would you recommend for understanding the underlying concepts? I can practice all I want in freecodecamp, but I feel like I'm missing something with the actual concepts...

    • @OtherPeoplesComputer
      @OtherPeoplesComputer 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best book I read about the underlying concepts that really helped make things click was "Practical Object-Oriented Design in Ruby" by Sandi Metz. The way she describes how you to structure your code really clicked for me and I've been able to carry that perspective into new languages (I haven't wrote Rube in forever...lol).

    Hey Reggie , got some really good insights from this video keep it up ! , a lot of us being junior developers need mentors like you to share your experience especially during a time like this, Could you create a discord channel and have meetups over zoom this would be a great opportunity for a lot of us , please think about it. Cheers : )
