The Shadow seems to be a really good base to make a bobber. Planning on doing it myself too and this is the easy way to do it. Thanks for sharing this build!! Ride on 🤘🤘
I like that you kept the stock tank it has good mpg range for a 600. The Z-bars ,seat and white wall tires are classic must haves on a bobber. Kudos on job well done.
people like me who think "bobbers" are stupid looking. The worst is when someone takes a beautiful vintage early 80's honda and turns it into a bobber... I just don't get it.
I've gone from riding cruiser to riding sports (had no end of trouble with every cruiser I've had) but watching this video makes me think I made a mistake!I love whitewall tyres and there's nothing that comes close to the looks of a v-twin.
This video is the reason that I built my first bike. (video on my page). and started my business building bikes. Thanks man, this thing is so damn cool!!
I almost checked out early because I don't usually go for the 600 shadows. Glad I stuck around. That came out really nice and looks like it would be a ton of fun for a bar hopper.
Thanks! Really nice. Thought I saw a red Shadow similar in Pittsville last summer. Wish I had some jingle. 1 year in recovery & in school. I'll have one some day
My bike was done the EXACT same way except it's a 96 so it's a drive line, and I hate how narrow the front fender looked on the rear so I chopped the original rear fender up and made welded it to the swing arm considering mines still a soft tail. Nice build man
How does lowering the rear end with no suspension work? Do you have to worry about chain angle? Does it affect anything other than just taking off all the suspension components? Looking into doing this to mine
It rides a little stiffer but not too bad. You will probably have to adjust your chain slightly. Just measure the chain slack before you lower it so you know approximately where it needs to be. I have the lowering struts still available if your interested.
Hello, I also bobbed my shadow but was to scarred to remove all that air filter crap. can you just remove all that plastic that goes under the front of the motor and stick a filter over the opening? I like how clear yours looks.
I got them from Ebay. They are pretty hard to find though. I bought a few extra last time I found them so if you cant find them email me at caraholic86@gmail.com
Those look like 10 inch risers. How did you install the spring seat? I have a plate underneath mine that has bolts and I couldnt use coil springs way to tall.
what mods did you have to do to change out the airbox for that little cone filter? Aside from removing all the ugly bulky...I assume maybe carb tuning?
hey man I did everything to my bike, cut the mufflers off, put a cone air filter and also jet the carb with a 142 main jet and set the carb. I took it for a test drive and it still feels like that all the power is not there, what I'm missing here?
Great video!!! I am looking to purchase a 750 Shadow to completely customize myself. Your video gave me some ideas. Again, great video and an amazing looking bike!!!... CHEERS!!
Did you have to extend the cables or did the stock ones fit for those bars? I am thinking about throwing on some mini apes, and getting rid of my drag bars.
With your rear fender, I'm assuming you cut the front one and threw it on the back. Did you nut and bolt it in place or did you weld it directly to the swing arm?
Awesome! Dude can I ask you a favor? I have a 1999 Honda Shadow which is basically the same set up. I took the carb off to clean it and I can't seem to correctly connect all the tubes back up. I did the throttle cables which was no big deal. However, there's something I'm doing wrong with the hoses. Can you please tell me where each hose connect to? If you can that would be greatly appreciated. I mean there's only like what 8 of them in all? Thanx.
Hey sweet bike! What did you do to mount the seat? It doesn't look like you welded a bracket in there. Would love to know how I can mount the seat and avoid welding. Thanks!
Hey how you doing I need some stuff for a 2006 750c honda shadow , ineed the. Exhaust muflers , the carburator and air filter and cover , and I need the 2 valves covers im fixing my self one whit one valve damage and all those parts are missing letme know if you guys have any parts
can you tell me what size jets you used on the carb and if you had to do additional tuning. was also wandering about lowering with the strut bar? that bike is a sick bobber!!!!! njce job!!!!!
Brother I cant give you enough credit on such an awesome Bobber build! Great way for a not so loaded in the wallet Brother to have a Sweet Ride! Love my Harley, but that Honda is kick ass! I would like to get that dvd from you. If you could send me all the info I could use it to build a nice ride for a good friend. Look forward to hearing from you and thanks for getting back to me on the jet and carb tuning. Ride Strong! Awesome Work!
Pra mim umas das coisas mais importantes é saber TB o valor desses trampos, pra gente poder imaginar se pd ou não fz isso com nossas motos uma dia,mas colocar valores parece até segredo de estado!!!!
The Shadow seems to be a really good base to make a bobber. Planning on doing it myself too and this is the easy way to do it. Thanks for sharing this build!! Ride on 🤘🤘
It's an excellent base!
I like that you kept the stock tank it has good mpg range for a 600. The Z-bars ,seat

Who in the hell would give this a thumbs down? A moron would.
Nice little build
people like me who think "bobbers" are stupid looking. The worst is when someone takes a beautiful vintage early 80's honda and turns it into a bobber... I just don't get it.
What a build video. I like the way the seat just appears...POOF. Seat. Sometimes they do that.
I love how such simple styling goes a long way on these bikes. Nice work!
Damn, thats a beautiful bike. I just picked up a 2000 shadow 1100 yesterday. Fist motorcycle i've owned. Be safe Brother
Thanks man! That's awesome!
Wow, I'm convinced. My first bike will be either a shadow or a rebel 450. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'll have one some day
May have been one of mine. I live in Pittsville
Front fender is now the back fender.Nice!
Which brand rear tire fairing did you use? I need to grab one for my shadow bobber
I have a honda shadow 600cc vlx and want to make into a bike like this. Great video man
Awesome job on the build. Looked like a lot of fun.
My bike was done the EXACT same way except it's a 96 so it's a drive line, and I hate how narrow the front fender looked on the rear so I chopped the original rear fender up and made welded it to the swing arm considering mines still a soft tail. Nice build man
Thanks!
Sweet bike, those whitewalls really add to it
Yea they are one of my favorite parts!
to everybody who is cosidering buying one of these, do it, is an excellent machine.
awesome work brother. Inspiring.
Bravo! Can you share with me what size pod filter fits the carburetor?
Damn got some skills my man!! Love the outcome of this bike!!! 👍

Nice job...love the bars too and I normally hate apes
Your very helpful in the comments..thanks !
Hello, I also bobbed my shadow but was to scarred to remove all that air filter crap. can you just remove all that plastic that goes under the front of the motor and stick a filter over the opening? I like how clear yours looks.
Yea its not to difficult. You might have to rejet the carb though because you will be sucking in more air.
Nice scoot, good job guys!
Does mufglers being like that affeca the valves?
Loved it. Very unique. Good looking bike !
Hey champ what did you change on the carburetor for the open filter? Mainjet number ? Needle ?
Nice build, dude! Neat solutions on details!
Would have loved to hear those pipes though... 😎
I need to know how the rear fender was done. Did you cut the original fender?
Music 🎶 to my Eyes 👀
Hardcore/ Bad ass !
Greetings from Central California 😎
Rest In Peace Turn Signals... You'll be missed by every single maniack on the road wich can't decide wich way your about to turn.
Lovely bike btw!
sweet job! Buying a shadow soon and will use ideas. thanks for the video!
No problem!
Where did u get the handlebars from I saw some on Amazon that looks the same.
I got them from Ebay. They are pretty hard to find though. I bought a few extra last time I found them so if you cant find them email me at caraholic86@gmail.com
Kool thanks
Those look like 10 inch risers. How did you install the spring seat? I have a plate underneath mine that has bolts and I couldnt use coil springs way to tall.
@@gandomlee They are 8" rise handlebars and studs were welded on the frame for the springs to sit on.
what mods did you have to do to change out the airbox for that little cone filter? Aside from removing all the ugly bulky...I assume maybe carb tuning?
guitarrebel22 I also jetted the carb to compensate for the increased airflow.
Nice job, dude. Really awesome bike.
Can you show how you attached the rear fender?
I wanna do this to my bike real bad but I don’t have any guidance. Got any tips or help?
Clean and simple ride!
Amazing Video! Keep Working With That Pride That You Have! 😎
Excelente trabajo. Saludos de Panamá
Hello beautiful motorcycle , I 'm Chilean and I'm building my steed bobber, but as you do to lower the damping more than usual ? you put a tensioner ?
+Cristobal Cortes Im not sure exactly what you mean.
Damn nice looking bike. Thanks for sharing.
Did you need to lengthen your throttle cable and other wires etc when raising the handle bars?
Gerald Euteneier Not for the 8" bars. If you go taller than 8" you might have to.
Ok ty .
That came out baddass!👍👍👍
hey man I did everything to my bike, cut the mufflers off, put a cone air filter and also jet the carb with a 142 main jet and set the carb. I took it for a test drive and it still feels like that all the power is not there, what I'm missing here?
Maybe there is a loss of back pressure in the exhausts? This can lead to a drop in power
How did you know how to jet it? which needle to use, and *gicleur* (the other piece you change inside)
Great video!!! I am looking to purchase a 750 Shadow to completely customize myself. Your video gave me some ideas. Again, great video and an amazing looking bike!!!... CHEERS!!
Thanks!
Really awesome super nice bike!!😁👍👍
Did you have to extend the cables or did the stock ones fit for those bars? I am thinking about throwing on some mini apes, and getting rid of my drag bars.
No I didnt have to extend anything.
So Honda shadows are a good base for bobbers? is a bobber a good bike to start out with as in first bike, first time rider?
Yea they are they might be a bit awkward at start though with the high bars but yea these bikes are a good start
nice bike! how much handlebar width tip to tip is? 24" or 29"?
+jirko ilonen Tip to tip is 28 1/2
Where did you mount the springs onto? Did you drill a hole on the frame and just but a bolt under or did you weld on bungs?
Welded on bungs
The rear light and liscence plate holder, where did u get that and what kind is it.
Jacob Reid Its a TC bros. You can get it from them or ebay.
With your rear fender, I'm assuming you cut the front one and threw it on the back. Did you nut and bolt it in place or did you weld it directly to the swing arm?
ApostleXlll I bolted it to a bracket that was welded onto the swing arm.
Hola te hablo desde España podría poner las ruedas completas de ana shadow 750 en una de 600? Gracias
Awesome build 👍🏻
Nice! That white canister on top. Where do you have the two hose going to. I have one with no where to go
floy stevens You can just let it hang or put a small filter on it.
amazing!
Do you think same procedure could be done with VT800 ´88?
I like the idea of bigger engine over 600..
Nurali Kushkov Im not real familiar with the vt800 but im sure it could be done with a little work.
Is that the original exhaust that you just remived the mufflers on?
RtIIn Yep
how did u set the seat springs on the frame?? did u just drill through the frame and bolt it down??
Tylor Atha Studs were welded on the frame for the springs to sit on
Very cool want to build out my Suzuki intruder 1400 .. very helpful.. thank you 👍🏼✌🏼
The bike looks amazing man this winter I'm thinking of start ing a bobber project do you think I can use clip on Bars on the honda shadow
+Amar Jaradat I would think it should work
do you have a close up of how you welded on the springs or the studs for the springs?
what type of Honda Shadow is this I just keep finding shaft driven and not change???
+GREEN SMOKE FILMS This is a VLX 600
Is the exhaust short shots or just factory cut down
It's the factory pipes cut just behind the muffler

Thanx.
Hey sweet bike! What did you do to mount the seat? It doesn't look like you welded a bracket in there. Would love to know how I can mount the seat and avoid welding. Thanks!
AsphaltRequired I used the gas tank bolt for the front of the bracket and bungs were welded on the frame where it was cut for the springs to sit on.
Nice bike man
wish I had that talent too turn my 96 shadow vlx over like that
What is the black you removed around the 55 sec mark??
Coy Rodgers That was the airbox
CarAholic86 did you plug or something?
Coy Rodgers You can plug it or let it hang. I know guys that have done it either way.
what size was the air filter pod you put on the carb?
+Myoung9814 Its 54mm.
Where did you get your rear fender at? And your extended cables for your handlebars?
The cables didn't have to be extended since the bars are only 8". The rear fender was used from the front fender. I removed it and cut it in half.
Not many people change the front forks?? Or is this how it needs to be left?
I've seen some people lower them, personal preference I guess
Cool Looking Bike!
Hey how you doing I need some stuff for a 2006 750c honda shadow , ineed the. Exhaust muflers , the carburator and air filter and cover , and I need the 2 valves covers im fixing my self one whit one valve damage and all those parts are missing letme know if you guys have any parts

+Mike Wilson Thanks. I used the dyno jet dj1197 and a 142 main. The needle clip is on the 4th notch down, air fuel screw 3 turns out.
Donde conseguiste esa luz de stop ?
What size bars did you go with? And where did you get the longer cables? Having problems finding stuff for mine
TwinCountyCamaros I used 8" bars and didn't have to extend the cables. You shouldn't have to if you stay under 8".
CarAholic86 They look a lot taller than 8 inch bars. LOL. I’m thinking of maybe 12s or 14s
Brother I cant give you enough credit on such an awesome Bobber build! Great way for a not so loaded in the wallet Brother to have a Sweet Ride! Love my Harley, but that Honda is kick ass! tcbros
is it possible for the harleys rocker C convertable seat to be installed on a vlx 600 ?
Did you use stock cables? Can you tell me how high is your handlebar?
Yes. With the 8" bars you can use stock cables.
What seat did you use? And did you have to buy a separate bracket for it?
Not sure what the brand is and I just bought a universal seat mount for it.
can you tell me where you got the rear fender? or did you chop the stock one?
Colin Seymour I cut the front fender in half and used that
Quedo MELA....

Very nice bike.. What the size of the front wheel?

Pra mim umas das coisas mais importantes é saber TB o valor desses trampos, pra gente poder imaginar se pd ou não fz isso com nossas motos uma dia,mas colocar valores parece até segredo de estado!!!!

How much weight did it shave off by removing all of this parts ?
Finally got a 96 shadow to bob. Have you ever done a dual carb and if so what jetting did you use
I have never done a pre 99 bike so I'm not sure what to tell you
