I highly recommend using CrystaLac for these projects, it's such good quality and no toxic ingredients (like the store bought) plus totally non yellowing! Grab it here:thecrystalacstore.com/products/craftnique-colored-gel-stains-water-based?_pos=2&_sid=43473f0b6&_ss=r&&sca_ref=301559.RjXXsfrXmN
You explained this so well yet simply. I can’t wait to try this using your instructions. I’m super excited now and no longer intimidated. Thanks so much!
Another question lol. You said below that you can use brite tone over EP. what would be the benefit of using EP over BT? You said we don’t need to use the knot shellac. Is it because the EP would seal it? Would BT still do the same job?
brite tone and extreme protection are both top coats. Brite Tone is used on tumblers so many of the tumbler makers already have it. Extreme protection is just a little less expensive so I use it for my wood stuff !
I’m just full of questions lol. So I hit my board, sanded it smooth, wipes it off with a damp paper towel. Now it’s rough again. What happened? Didn’t I sand it long enough?

Thank you so much for sharing!! Nice gift for a house warming!! What size are the screws for the lazy Suzan mechanism if you don’t mind?
OOf, i found them in my house. I think they were 1/2 inch screws. Just can't be longer than the size of your wood piece!
Great video! I have some rounds that I’ve already stained with store bought stain. Can I still use EP to finish them?
If it's an oil based stain it needs a few weeks to dry first, then yes!
Are you rinsing the brushes off when switching from the knot shellac to EP to UW? Or different brushes?
I just rinse the brushes!
I love this! What a good wedding/ Christmas gift! Just curious, can I use BT instead of EP? It’s all I have 😅
Yes you can totally use BT!! It would be a great gift!!
What size gel stain would you recommend? I’m thinking of making 2-3 of these.
You could probably just get the small one!
Thank you!
Can I use BT if I don’t have EP? And is this a way to door a door hanger as well?
yes you can! i would use crab coat if it's going to be out side but EP/BT for inside!
Super cute! Is this food grade? Like to make a food tray for a party 🙈🙈🙈
Yes it is!
@@AlisonCrafts thx!!
If I don’t have extreme protection could I use brite tone?
yep!!
How can I do the lettering if I don’t have a Cricket?
You could paint them yourself! Or get letter stickers. Or buy a vinyl decal.
