us that whats towards the very beginning where they've boarded the shit and there are red indicators? and why they were able to spot and kill the enemies so quickly?
@@tastyneck That was POV with a sensor view so they could spot the defenders easily. The bolts what the bolters(guns the space marines use) shoot are mini rockets, so standard human with no real armor is just cannon fodder.
@@tastyneck the sensors are part of it, but under the suits they are superhuman like in almost all ways compared to regular humans too, not limited to but including being able to see in the dark, go basically into hibernation, breathe in poisonous gases and they have 3 lungs and 2 hearts if I remember correctly. You don’t wanna fuck around with space marines.
shame Gw lock the creator with a terrible contract, shame they hate their fans and want to hide, remove astartes fan project because they want to push their terrible warhammer plus platform than nobody want with terrible content
Part of becoming a Space Marine is regularly undergoing invasive surgery without anesthesia and remaining conscious. As an example? One of the first organs implanted into a Space Marine Neophyte is a second heart and a third lung, and their final implant, the Black Carapace, requires the Neophyte be skinned alive and have synthetic nerve fiber bundles and connection ports wired into his nervous system so that he can better interface with his power armor. And this has to be done over a large portion of their body. Thankfully, Neophytes are trained to ignore pain, Space Marine Apothecaries often have centuries of experience keeping their patients alive, and the other 19 or so implants make the procedure fairly trivial. So yeah. Being skinned alive and having wires and usb ports soldered into your nervous system while still conscious is basically the Space Marine equivalent of getting a tattoo.
If you looked closely enough at the end when they were panning through those gigantic skeletons, you could see other Space Marines being teleported on the plinths in the distance, given away by a subtle spark. Also, as bad-ass as the Space Marines are, they aren't even the toughest or most bad-ass units in the whole game universe. Look up the Men of Iron and how Humanity had to deal with that during the Dark Age of Technology when Humanity was at its most technologically advanced state.
That psyker listening on the "conversation between the 2 orbs lost focus when he told the leader to recall the squad and was in danger of daemonic possession. That's why he got executed by his own allies. You don't want a possessed psyker in your midst because they can potentially take out the entire space marine squad especially if they have no space marine librarian backup.
@@cyberltron890 well, getting telepathically dominated is still a threat to your allies. So killing him makes more than enough sense, even though he wasn't possessed
"They're way too badass, they don't even flinch" - then to remember that these are the basic footsoldiers of a space marine army, and they're normally fighting things that are even tougher, stronger and more overpowered. That's the fun of 40k. Everything is so over the top.
I still think the SC space marine can defeat the 40k marines Not a one on one. But overall. If it was just one chapter vs a 200/200 Terran army that consists of just marines and medivacs. The bolter is good, but the gauss cannon I think is better at killing individual, armoured targets. And the numbers of marines favour the SC side.
@@MilkT0ast Chapter is a 1000 marines. 200 strong army is a joke. And you're comparing normal humans to augmented post-humans. SC marines have no chance, unless outnumbering them considerably. I'm talking 1000 to 1. There was a war in 40k (or to be correct 30k), where Legionnaires (first Marines, somewhat better, but comparable) conquered a Human empire that was fielding similar o theirs power-armoured warriors. It's mentioned that even with their gear being comparable, the Space Marines still had the upper hand because of their reflexes and superhuman physique. Bolters can defeat SM armour - they're basically AT weapons - firing rocket-propelled armour piercing 20mm grenades. From what I'm reading, SC Gauss cannons were anti-infantry. I seriously doubt they can defeat 40k Power Armour but even if they did, SM can field things like Heavy Bolters, Plasma Cannons, Lascannons, Meltaguns and many more. 40k is so over the top, that every other, more sensible universe always loses in these comparisons.
@@MilkT0ast The 40k Space Marines are the poster boy elites for the Imperium of man. If the Imperium wants to drown you with bodies numbers like 200 become rounding errors. Originally Space Marine Chapters had way more than about 1000 Space Marines, but their numbers got restricted after they fought the equivalent of a super devastating civil war among themself. The collateral damage got to bad even according to 40k standards. xD The Imperium starts counting Imperial Guard troops in the high millions. And those numbers relate to average conflicts, if it's a critical conflict the Imperium simply won't stop sending troops. If it takes a trillion Guardsman to achive success, they will send a trillion. One of the best examples for this necessary insanity is Cadia. The planet was of absolute strategic importance, hence got reinforced without pause for countless years on end. In the end the planet was lost, but the way this happened got perfectly captured in one of the best quotes known to imperial citizens: "the planet broke before the guard". And yes, this is a literal description of shit that went down. Sure the average Guardsman only comes equipped with basic flak vests and a laser rifle, but the sheer scale of their invasion fleets alone is more insane than most SC Zerg swarms. Obviously no Imperial fleet is complete without lots of REALLY big guns, tanks and more insane war machinery.
"Zooming in that armour" Yep there's a quote from the lore about it. "Nothing that big should be moving that fast" They can sprint at about twice the speed of Usain Bolt.
That boarding craft in part 2 is a Caestus Assault Ram, fitted with twin Magna-Meltas that burn through a ship's hull to deliver its payload of the deadliest sort: Adeptus Astartes. As to how bulky the Space Marines look, it has been said that nothing that big should move that fast. When the squad leader is charging at the enemy psykers, that is nearly a ton of ceramite and righteous fury barreling down on them at about 50 mph. The bolter shells they fire aren't normal bullets either, each one is essentially a self-propelled mass-reactive grenade (meaning that it explodes when surrounded by mass, aka *a body* ). The traitor Guardsmen are shooting at them with normal weapons like stubbers, autoguns, and lasguns, which do practically nothing to the Mark VII Aquila Power Armour that the Astartes wear. They never stood a chance :P Astartes are quite literally superhuman. The Emperor himself designed their genetic template and the gene-seed that is implanted into each prospective warrior, transforming them into the peak of human evolution. Over 7 feet tall and weighing about 300kg, they have a myriad of redundant organs, a fused rib cage that provides their insides with a hardened bone shield, multiple additional organs that allow them to process poison and digest almost anything, and the endurance to go for days without rest or sustenance in achieving their goals. Space Marines are a breed apart from regular humans, bred for one purpose: war. Unceasing, endless, horrifying war, and they relish it. They are grateful that they know their life's true purpose, and throw themselves into it wholeheartedly.
This was indeed a fan project. All done by one extremely dedicated guy. As part of their crackdown on fan animations, Games Workshop is essentially paying the artist to NOT make any more. Good for him, sucky for the rest of us.
A small detail most people just don't realize: The Astartes NEVER stopped shooting and moving, especially in the first part. They have their mission and they are gonna execute it, regardless of the cost. It is also imperativ to remain moving, they are just 5 Astartes that boarded that ship which could harbor dozens of thousands of hostiles. If they stop once, they will be pinned and need to fight against overwhelming numbers. They might be supersoldiers, but they are still not impossible to kill and the doctrine that most space marine chapters use is shock, hit hard and fast complete your objective and move on to the next target. The guy that got possesed was an inquisitor that tried to warn the marines, but in doing so he lost focus on his mental defences. One does not simply use the warp. PS: You should also watch the Templin Institute, they did some great videos. If you want in depth, look at more of Lutins stuff or Arch, personally I like both as they go into details of the lore and the irony in many stuff. EDIT: The warp jump was for the whole team, you can even see the flashes on the other pillars if you look closely.
In terms of the best stuff the react to that isnt super long I would recommend History of Warhammer 40000 by Arbiter Ian. For other top tier fan animations I would recommend Helsreach or search Sodaz 40k. Great reaction btw As for the answers to your questions. We dont technically know what the orbs or the throne skeletons are. There are a bunch of main alien factions and dozens of minor alien species but I believe the creator said it was something new. That's the cool thing about 40k because the universe is so big and full of mysteries and secrets. You're always finding new things. Though most stuff is usually tied back to some of the major old races like Necrons, Eldar, Humanity and the warp. Even though 95% of stuff is a result of them it's a while galaxy with a long history and theres plenty of unexplored and undiscovered stuff
@@FBJ_TV sure. Also one other thing. The channel Templin Institute has some good 40k videos which are popular though they can be quite dense with info. I'd recommend that Arbiter Ian first
Also here's a tip, because you're kind of starting your lore journey. Luetin (Channel) is great for bigger/macro topics within WH40k, Wolf Lord Rho (Channel) is great for lore on detailed/specific stories (Primarchs etc.), and MajorKill (Channel) does great lore videos of all kinds, but with comedy. Those three channels are my favorite in the WH40k ethos.
Lore Beginners: Bricky´s Introduction Series Lore Students: Majorkill, Baldermort and simply most of the Lore-Channels Lore Masters: Luetin, the Amber King Luetins Videos are heavy. They are long and with so much details and specific discussions. Beginners would get lost. About Wolf Lord Rho i know nothing. For most Lore-Channels you need a basic understanding of the lore so Bricky will always come first. In comparision to any other beginners video into WH40K lore Bricky has created the perfect beginning. I watched a good bunch of introduction videos out of curiousity what beginners would learn first and he sums it up perfectly. For context: i am more than a decade into WH40k and i enjoy Majorkill, Luetin and Baldermort as my lore-channels. I newly added the Amber King and the Remembrancer.
@@corgamargetokodra7056 You're sleeping on Wolf Lord Rho. He goes through books, and comics to give detailed accounts of very intimate dialogue/meetings between different characters in the Lore. I would put it in the Master level, because it requires a good understanding of the context behind personal encounters of characters.
For me "Oculus Imperia" is the best WH40K lore channel. His videos makes the lore sound so much more "real", and interesting, and intriguing, and even more fun and cool than any other 40K lore channel out there. Nobody else comes even close in my mind. :) His two Blood Angels lore videos are still to this day my two favorit lore videos ever created for 40K. :D But then again... I am biased, since I have been a Blood Angels guy since late 1995... hence my username... XD
To answer your question, since nobody else seems to have done so: Yes, the markers on their brow are a sign of service. Those metal studs on the eye ridge are called service studs, and you get one for every 100 years of service you have provided. Meaning the guy was a 300+ year veteran soldier.
I would suggest checking out a video on who the Primarchs are. In a nutshell they are the Emperor of Mankind's children, who he made each one a general of their own astartes army. The reason the humanity ain't doing to great in 40k is because of what happened in 30k during the Horus Heresy. Basically some sons of the emperor chose to follow the Chaos Gods, and a civil war broke out. Leaving the Emperor a husk on the throne. This is a breakdown of who they are. Individually they are like demi gods. th-cam.com/video/tga1S4Kx3tA/w-d-xo.html
The two Astartes killing their psyker was not overkill. A possessed Psyker is VERY dangerous, so that was the only thing to do, to completely wreck him before he mutates into some bad ass daemon
A bit of an explanation: So, as far as I can tell, those "orbs" are physical manifestations of warp energy a.k.a. warp cores. They can bend or even break the laws of physics as we know, and are how space ships in 40k can travel faster than the speed of light. They are INCREDIBLY dangerous if not handled properly because warp energy attracts deamons of chaos or can accidentally teleport objects or slow down or even speed up the flow of time. You see the contrast of the restrained warp core on the Imperial ship, compared to the unrestricted warp core on the separatist ship. The Marines are tasked with the mission of capturing and controlling the unrestricted core. The guy with the red robes is a psyker of the imperial inquisition, who is trying to suppress the power of the enemies core, but the power of the chaos gods floods back into his mind, and the marine commanders execute him before he is possessed by a deamon or otherwise sabotages the mission. Unfortunately, it would seem that the separatists are indeed a cult of chaos and their two "leaders" are psykers in the service of the chaos gods. In the end, the marines are pulled directly into the warp and are teleported directly onto a chaos home world, likely to be ruled by a deamon prince in direct service to one of the 4 major gods. They WILL NOT survive this.
@@SqualoXO I do love me some blue bois, but there is no telling where this planet even is. The eye of terror? The maelstrom? Could be anywhere across the great rift. I'm sure the astartes will recover the core and prevent a much larger disaster, but that tactical squad 100% gave their lives for the Emperor that day.
Space Marine armor excels at dealing with small arms fire and laser weaponry. Standard Imperial Guard doctrine says that, in the event of encountering rogue Space Marines, maintain distance and concentrate fire on one target, as individually a Guardsmen or their equivalent has no chance of putting down a fully armored Space Marine unless he gets a lucky hit to the eyes or into the joints where the protection is weaker, so massed fire is preferable. Meanwhile, a single Space Marine doesn't even need to hit you specifically, as there are instances of Space Marine boltguns causing such catastrophic damage to enemy infantry that their bones could turn into potentially lethal shrapnel.
I always wanted to play Star Craft. It was meant to be a 40k game at one point but one thing lead to another and now we have Star Craft. I always say the suit up cutscene as what 40k would do if they toned back on the Religion aspect if not cut it all together and did what the Emperor wanted them to do before he was put on life support.
So in one of my favorite novels, Soul Hunter, three teams of Traitor Astartes boarded a ship probably 5 times this one’s size. The squad sent to the bridge were thrown of course and landed 3 decks below where they needed to be and it took them about 15 minutes to get to the bridge breach it and leave. And that was only 4 Astartes and one of them was Khorne corrupted and had to be “reminded” a few times to stay on task
This is the most accurate depiction of Astartes out there... except they're even faster - in their armour they could run up to 40-50mph while having agility of a Bruce Lee in melee combat.
Oh you are absolutely ready for Helsreach now my dude. You owe it to yourself! :D Also, during the turret sequence, that marine absolutely took damage. It just wasn't anything critical. ;)
on the Vraks channel there is a video that I recommend you a lot to see, it lasts a few minutes, or one that I recommend a lot to all those who approach this franchise : the last church, this is one of my favorite videos on warhammer 40k, it is a video that lasts a long time, but I recommend it
Plasma weapons are highly unstable. They have a tendency to overheat and older ones can even explode. That's why, when the space marine fired a plasma pistol in part 4, he immediately dropped it in case it was about to malfunction and to give it time to cool down during the fight before he would sue it again. Later, in part 5, he pushed it up to full power (vastly increasing the chance of a critical malfunction) to fire into the orb in the hope of destroying it and blew his own hand off.
In how long Astartes can live, it is unknown, some are a few thousand years old, but the one in this video you get to see at the end with out his helmet has studs in his forehead that show how long he has served as an Astartes. Gold is 100 years and Silver is 10 years, so he has been an Astartes for 120 years.
To put into perspective on how dangerous a space marine is. In the lore a battalion of 30 marines held down a fort that over 9000 imperial soldiers had issues with defending on their own. Basically if 30 of these guys show up, hell even just more than 10, it is a war, not a small shoot out. Plus the bullets in their guns are actually "tiny" jet proppeled missiles. There is this great little story one can play in an old roleplaying game, and I am talking about classic pen and paper, called Necromunda. Where you play a bunch of regular people who are gang members in 40k, who stole something they shouldn't. The entire premise is to survive as long as you can. Because you pissed of some Space Marine chapter, and they send 5 after you and your gang. Imagine 5 unstoppable forces sent to kill you and your friends, when all it takes is just one. All can just walk/run through walls, see through them with their hightech spec helmets. Not to mention everyone of them is 2½ times the size of a regular person, yet somehow these giants can sneak and be more agile than anyone you know. All while running around in 300kg's or heavier of armor. Armor that is (and I am not kidding here) strong enough to the point where someone can ram into a Space marine with a Hummer car, blowing up, and the Space Marine is left standing almost completely unscathed. On a different note, people likely have pointed it out, but I haven't seen a mention of it yet in the reaction videos I've looked at so far. Starcraft was actually supposed to be a Warhammer 40k game. But Blizzard and Games Workshop had a falling out, so Blizzard with an almost completed game, decided that instead of scrapping it, they reworked it into a story/game if their own. So in reality Zergs are based on Tyranids, Protoss are based on Eldar or Aeldari as they are called now apparently (The space amazons aka space elves), and Terran are based on The Imperium of man (Meaning the Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum, Space Marines and Order Mechanicus). Why they had a falling out was never officially revealed, but considering it is Games Workshop we are talking about, it likely comes down to money and broken promises.
The dialogue between the balls goes something like this. "Our escape, I have failed brother" "We have all failed. The astartes deny our touch. You must return, break your seal." "Impossible we'll never survive" "You must. Take them"
From older lore about 40K, it was said that there are less Space Marines than there are worlds in the Imperium, but they are enough to protect it. When you watch something like this, you can understand how that would be true.
If you ever want to watch a nice and simple run down of the 40K universe I highly recommend a channel called Bricky he has a 2 part video called Every Warhammer faction explain and he does a amazing job of simplifying it and explain well enough for new people to get into if they want a better understanding of the universe and the other races as well.
ok that ambush guy with the big ass gun (the one in the shadows) was snuck up on by the astartes. if you look at the area around the gun, the astartes that ended that ambush gets illuminated by that rifle blast before ending him.
one thing about the holy bolter(standard firearm of the astartes) they are not only big maschiene guns . they aren automatic weapoms with cal.75 and shoots selfpropelled rounds with an diamant tip that explodes inside the enemy^^ automatic small rocket launchers^^
If you watch the end it's hard to see but there are several little flashes around the Marine. Those are his squad mates getting transported through the Warp as well.
The problem with Space Marines is that you'd need camera trickery or CGI to portray them, since their proportions are so skewed. Dawn of War II got the most accurate: normal human sized head, massively overproportioned body and limbs. Imagine someone towering over every NBA player and built wider than the hugest strongman. The Mountain would be a runt next to a Space Marine.
IF you watch this in 8K " EVERY " surface is covered in Latin that can be read as well as the script on the vid screen at the beginning of the last part.
To put into perspective how OP a Space Marine is; In the first battle it's Space Marines vs cultists; Cultists have lasguns, small highly reliable guns capable of boiling flesh and piercing armor like it's nothing. The Lasgun's a total peashooter when up against Space Marine Power Armor. Meanwhile, the Space Marines have bolters and Bolt Pistols, which fires ROCKET PROPELLED EXPLOSIVE BULLETS. A normal Bolter would easily be able to wreck modern tanks, a heavy bolter would turn them into scrap in seconds. A Storm bolter... what tank? All I see is slag. And they are using that type of ammo on flesh and blood targets. It's really no contest. Likewise, a Space Marine's armor can shrug off tank blasts, survive planetary reentry with minor damage and is linked to the Space Marine's own nervous system allowing unparalleled precision and ease of movement. Their helmets are linked to their weapons allowing them to calculate firing solutions and will shield the Space Marine from flash banks and grant nightvision, not that the space marine really needs any of it. A Space Marine is according to multiple sources capable of moving so fast, the eye of a normal person can't perceive it. The speed you need to move at to move at for that to happen? Over 9000Km/h IN FULL POWER ARMOR. To quote one of the books; "Nothing that big should be able to move that fast." and to make matters worse, the Primarch's could move so fast that SPACE MARINES couldn't perceive it. And the Space Marines have no issues reacting to their own ludicrous speed. That's what's fighting in this video.
You ask if they hit a single one and I'd like to point out that 10 seconds earlier we saw the guy with the big rifle ambush the astartes and hit one in the shoulder which glanced off harmlessly.
And now that Games Workshop (the copyright holder of Warhammer) has pretty much locked down anything that has to do with fan projects because they couldn't overcome the fear that their own animated series would be (and is) way inferior to any fan projects, there will never be a continuation to this series. Ah yes, typical Games Workshop. Either shell over all your money or get fudged.
GW has been massive pricks, but from sources (mostly from Majorkill and looking into afterwards) they have loosened some of the restrictions, but have not really made it public (for some reason, still not sure why) which is mainly why the Siege of Vraks still exists and hasn't been shut down, which i'm hoping soon GW will actually publicly step back their awful restrictions on community projects, still makes them massive assholes but they seem to be ever so slowly learning
@@bannermare6357 the only problem with that, why would the community making content put their Ip at risk? thats not how copyright law works, if you make free content and make no profit copyright doesn't affect that and the original IP owner still maintains copyright of it, but if you use an existing IP and make money off it without either paying for a license that is illegal, community made projects fall under fair use and are protected (now a company can infact have rules to where you can't do this, but even then its very iffy grounds) but GW was never at risk for losing any ownership of their IP because of fanmade content, thats just not how copyright works, its mainly why so many IPs have so much fanmade stuff, it doesn't threaten ownership of it and acts as free advertisement for the products and i am sick and tired of the argument "but if the fans keep making free content GW might lose the IP" thats never been the case for ANY form of copyright or IP, the only time an IP can be threatened is if the copyright runs out and someone else buys the rights, or extreme legal shenanigans involving who actually made said IP and if they are recognized
The Zerg are inspired by Warhammer 40K's Tyranids, the Terrans by the Imperium of Man, and the Protoss either by the Necrons or the T'au, or a mix of both
Don't worry too much if you didn't know what was going on. It's meant to be mysterious and there's practically no dialog. What's really impressive is how much is able to be told visually. The Astartes chapter depicted is the creator's design and so are the psionic rebels and the artefact. There are some references to things in the lore; the Inquisitorial psyker, how commanders are dressed, the weapon types, SM tactics, the boarding torpedo, etc. But it's meant to be watchable and understandable without much prior knowledge of WH40k. Honestly, the novels are filled with examples of weird foes that don't appear anywhere else in WH40k lore (mostly because they get wiped out!) and this animation is no exception. It's fantastic that GW hired the creator to work on more Warhammer animations and I supported his Patreon too. I have to admit to being disappointed when he started working for GW and could no longer legally work on the Astartes project for money. So his Patreon started being about his new independant project. Sure, fair enough, but of course I stopped paying... I'm not interested in that project at all; I paid for more Astartes. In the meantime GW has locked all these creators' work behind an obnoxious paywall (warhammerplus & warhammertv). They guaranteed that people like you and me that don't make WH40k their whole life won't see this creator's WH40k work again without a paid sub and a daily newsletter. You'd be paying GW *for* advertising, at best. It's honestly a damn shame.
Psionic abilities (and those who use them - Psykers) are a big chunk of WH40k lore. There is basically a parallel "universe" called Warp - that is basically a projection of minds of all conscious beings. And it's one big mess as all minds collide and mix. There are people and beings - Psykers - that consciously can get energy from Warp. That balls were basically creatures that come from Warp. For Empire getting into any deal with any Warp entities (other than Emperor who is the most powerful human Psyker ever born) is a big no-no. That's why Astartes (Adeptus Astartes is other name for Space Marines) get sent there. It seems that they "catch" one of those entities before. Yes - those were kind of inhibitors stab it with. They used them to basically lure entities into the conversation via Warp. It was eavesdropped by Inquisition's sanctioned Psyker. Then happen two things - Psyker basically gets possessed by Warp entity. That's why they get killed on spot - because it's better to kill them and shorten their suffering before the entity takes control and turns them into some mad murderous monstrosity. Then Warp entity basically takes Marines inside the ball - basically sending them right into Warp. But it gets killed by something just before it manages to do anything to Astartes. That's why they get teleported back into material reality. It's a harsh ride - so hard that it made even superhuman Marine to throw out. He wasn't teleported there alone - there are in the end flashes of other Astartes getting thrown there as well. And due to the nature of Warp, it can be anywhere and at any time...
Zooming? lol Well a Space Marine is roughly 3 meters tall and that Armor weighs a ton literally. So think walking tank. That was a boarding torpedo in the beginning. It has Melta guns in the prow to burn through ships armor. The Golden figure I believe is a Man of gold from the Dark age of technology. (Pre 40k) Sadly you won't see anymore of these videos made because Games Workshop made everyone stop making fan based videos(they threatened lawsuits). But there is a load of lore out there. Lots of great suggestions in the comments. Welcome to the GRIM DARK UNIVERSE. Where there is only WAR
They shall be my finest warriors, these men who give of themselves to me. Like clay I shall mould them, and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall I clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no sickness will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines so that no foe can best them in battle. They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear. The Emperor of Mankind, on the Creation of the Space Marines
Another thing the armor didnt take No damage in fact in the next scene you can see the damage on the armor as little circles on the armor I know this is 10 days later but Its real fuckin cool
Insane story, Guilliman wakes up and immediately books it for Terra. Legion of the Damned show up, Dark Eldar, Chaos, Eldar. Then cap it off with a primarch battle.
Man you gotta look up some lore on the space marines and their Primarchs. That armor they wear could eat tank rounds. Gotta remember the average space marine is like 8-9 feet tall and that weapon they're using is firing explosive rounds big enough to break a normal humans arm on the recoil. That's why when he fired down the hallway it was just red mist left when it impacted. True bad asses that make SC marines look like chumps.
They are the OG's that the StarCraft troopers were based on and originally supposed to be but there was a disagreement, in a fight between a StarCraft trooper and an Astartes an Astartes would 99.9% of the time as their armour is tougher and their weapons are better.
What if I told you, that StarCraft was originally going to be a Warhammer 40k game. But Blizzard and Games Workshop couldn’t come to an agreement. So Blizzard lost the license, and had to change the game’s art and assets.
It's a fantastic film. There was a lot to unpack in what was going on, even if you know the universe / lore. Lot's of guesses as to what was going on with the gold dudes and the gold spheres. We just don't know. And the creator has gone off to work for Games Workshop I believe You know about Bricky's "Every Faction" video which is very good. And the th-cam.com/users/Adeptusridiculous is fun for a light-hearted look at the grimdark universe. th-cam.com/users/Luetin09 is a lot more serious and in-depth. th-cam.com/users/ArbitorIan is good for a light and quick look, as well as from the hobby view.
If you really want a deep dive explanation, you can watch Norn Queen Alexis' Astartes Reaction. Very insightfull, she picks up and explaines stuff about this Video that even Warhammer fans would miss. th-cam.com/video/-I1aOvK_9r8/w-d-xo.html I also recommend Richard Boylan's animation of the novel Helsreach. th-cam.com/play/PLSWAxTw0FAGxkkqmuroxMwN5LviaBosJ5.html
Just watched it today and i must say amazing reaction and u payed alot of attention, obvious, and its hard to not, u missed alot details. First of all, u know that Starcraft is basicly Warhammer 40k? Lets start easy, The difference between Starcraft and the Warhammer Marines is simple. Starcraft: Guys, often prisoners, packed into big suits. Simple story. Warhammer: Massive enchanced people with multiple and new Organs changed with a gene Seed to be bigger tougher, smarter, faster, superhuman basicly. As example they have multiple hearts, a thrid lung, such stuff. Their skin is though enough that modern weaponry wouldnt harm them even when they re naked. The armor is different too, it even makes them stronger and faster ( u see pretty god how the seargant is running into the two psyker to attack them close, its even said in the lore something that big shouldnt move that fast, it seems total unnatural), as someone else told u the helmet have visors for nightvision, heat and basicly everything u can imagine build in to assist the Astartes while combat. The Armor is basicly a Tank on feets, weight around a ton and as u saw very resistant (The laser did indeed damage the armor but not enough to be harmful, i avoid the word lethal...i mean because of obvious reasons u know xD). There was this scene in the corridor where the seargant stop a attack with his knife and impaled a soldier, that guy tried to attack the marine with a anti tank weapon made to destroy massive tanks (It is a abso0lut suitable choice to try that, not that u will live to tell the tail but lets honor his try. If he would succeed the Marine wouldnt stand a chance to survive that.) What those Psykers do is basicly space magic connected to the warp, a hell dimension where they take power to use it. Simplified, works like psionics in Starcraft just more crazy and waaaaaaaay more dangerous (Kerrigans abilitys look like a joke compared). U see even m7ultiple times the same power in different forms. The sphere they engage is using those powers tos top the astartes but isnt able, they re mentally to strong to be stopped like that. Earlier entering the darkness u see them stepping on ice, or better it seemed their boot got frozen to the ground for a second, thats a sign of so called warp activitis (What the sphere does). The later the guy, connected to the other sphere, here is to note those things happen simultanesly if u didnt guess at that point, is a inqusitor and a psyker too. He oversees the sphere and is basicly peeping on its activity via the connection and his powers. The two sphere have a dialogue and he is listening and what he hears lets him call out to the (probably) captain of the Astartes who is their commander on that ship, to "retrieve them immediately" Here the dialog: Spiked sphere: Who's here? I have failed. Caged sphere: We have all failed. The Astartes defy our touch. Spiked sphere: You must return. Break your seal. Caged sphere: It's impossible. Spiked sphere: We will never survive. Caged sphere: You must. Take them. The he gets overtaken by the sphere, its called possesion and is super dangerous. It can lead to the death of every person on the ship, thats for sure, it can lead to the entire destruction of the solar system they are located, propably. And if there is enough time for the possed psyker it can lead to a massive demon invasion from the warp what will seriously unleash hell and kill every life in an unstoppable rampage. Kinda obvious why the two astartes reacted that way, the guy was out of reach for any kind of help and this death was basicly merci and absolut neccesary for survival. I would even they reacted almost to slow. The u where specualting about the whereabout of the other four members of the kill squad, the didnt get send somewehre else, watch the scene again and watch out for the other pillars, u will notice a very subtile flashing, so they are there too, wherever that is. Hope u come to read this and it helps u a bit to understand better what happens there.
In warhammer 40k those powers are named psychic powers not psionic powers like in Dnd who called them psionic powers to don't by a copy to evident of psychic powers from warhammer 40k becose if that has happend Games Workshop have destroyd the complany of Dnd becose Games Workshop is too protective to their content, and anather fact is psychic powers are more or less the same thing with magic and the the stience and magic are completing the empty spots of one each other instead to by the opposite of on each other.
The floating ball is widely seen to be a xenos race/artifact of some kind. As far as the ending goes its not so important to think of the why or where. It's more a counter weight to show that as awesome as Astartes can be, they are far from the biggest fish in the pond. The galaxy is filled with ancient warp touched evils and Emperor forsaken xenos. How and why they act is beyond what any human should attempt to comprehend, those tainted by their machinations should swiftly be give the Emperors Mercy (battlefield execution) Summary, even spacemarine get FKed by the warp and end up never being seen again. They do so with honour 😎
Those red lights in eyes are called auto-senses. They are various optics and sensors that display hud inside of marine's helm.
That makes a lot more sense! Spider eyes was the first thing that popped into my head... Amazing design choice tho
us that whats towards the very beginning where they've boarded the shit and there are red indicators? and why they were able to spot and kill the enemies so quickly?
@@tastyneck That was POV with a sensor view so they could spot the defenders easily. The bolts what the bolters(guns the space marines use) shoot are mini rockets, so standard human with no real armor is just cannon fodder.
@@tastyneck the sensors are part of it, but under the suits they are superhuman like in almost all ways compared to regular humans too, not limited to but including being able to see in the dark, go basically into hibernation, breathe in poisonous gases and they have 3 lungs and 2 hearts if I remember correctly. You don’t wanna fuck around with space marines.
I figured the red pop at 5:14 was the Space Marine's eye exploding as part of the stress. Fortunately, the Emperor gave him a spare
So many people who never played 40k or knew about it were introduced into it by this video. Shame Gw put it behind a paywall.

And arguably made the sound design worse
At some point companies start killing themselves. It's hilarious to see them make the same mistakes over and over again.
This is strait facts. It's how I got into warhammer. I'm eating through the books rt now. Just finished infinite and the divine
shame Gw lock the creator with a terrible contract, shame they hate their fans and want to hide, remove astartes fan project because they want to push their terrible warhammer plus platform than nobody want with terrible content
Good thing Umbras don't fully possess people, they can only shmiggle your brain telepathically. That wasn't daemonic possession...
@@myfaceismyshield5963 better safe than sorry 🤣
@@cyberltron890 well, getting telepathically dominated is still a threat to your allies. So killing him makes more than enough sense, even though he wasn't possessed
"They're way too badass, they don't even flinch" - then to remember that these are the basic footsoldiers of a space marine army, and they're normally fighting things that are even tougher, stronger and more overpowered. That's the fun of 40k. Everything is so over the top.
"They are my Space Marines and they shall know no fear"
I still think the SC space marine can defeat the 40k marines
Not a one on one.
The collateral damage got to bad even according to 40k standards. xD
The Imperium starts counting Imperial Guard troops in the high millions.
@@peterpan4038 Horus Heresy really messed up the numbers there
"Zooming in that armour" Yep there's a quote from the lore about it. "Nothing that big should be moving that fast" They can sprint at about twice the speed of Usain Bolt.
There was some damage. That's why he pulled back. A multi-laser WILL cut trough power armor eventually.
He has been converted right un front of our eyes!
They never stood a chance :P
Astartes are quite literally superhuman.
"What is your duty?" "To serve the Emperor's will." "What is the Emperor's will?" "That we fight and die." "What is death?" "It is our duty."
In terms of the best stuff the react to that isnt super long I would recommend History of Warhammer 40000 by Arbiter Ian.
For other top tier fan animations I would recommend Helsreach or search Sodaz 40k.
Great reaction btw
As for the answers to your questions.
Thanks a lot for the insight

Also here's a tip, because you're kind of starting your lore journey. Luetin (Channel) is great for bigger/macro topics within WH40k, Wolf Lord Rho (Channel) is great for lore on detailed/specific stories (Primarchs etc.), and MajorKill (Channel) does great lore videos of all kinds, but with comedy. Those three channels are my favorite in the WH40k ethos.
and Bricky
I'd add Baldemort, I'm fairly new and love his content.
Lore Beginners: Bricky´s Introduction Series
Lore Students: Majorkill, Baldermort and simply most of the Lore-Channels
Lore Masters: Luetin, the Amber King
Luetins Videos are heavy.
His two Blood Angels lore videos are still to this day my two favorit lore videos ever created for 40K. :D
But then again...
They WILL NOT survive this.
not if we send the ultra smurfs to do some work amirite?
@@SqualoXO I do love me some blue bois, but there is no telling where this planet even is. The eye of terror? The maelstrom? Could be anywhere across the great rift. I'm sure the astartes will recover the core and prevent a much larger disaster, but that tactical squad 100% gave their lives for the Emperor that day.
You have to watch “If the Emperor had a text-to-speech device” by Bruva Alfabusa. It’s a basic yet comedic introduction to the 40K universe
I mean, that's what you get when you shoot the equivalent of rocket propelled redbull cans.
The part after they beat the two men of gold when they sheathed their knives together was the cherry on the top of this project's coolness
If anything, this is an overstatement of Bruce Lee's skill...
You did the astartes series!!! Thanks man
Oh you are absolutely ready for Helsreach now my dude.
You owe it to yourself! :D
Also, during the turret sequence, that marine absolutely took damage. It just wasn't anything critical. ;)
1:32 That is a boarding torpedo. Which is basically exactly what it sounds like.
on the Vraks channel there is a video that I recommend you a lot to see, it lasts a few minutes, or one that I recommend a lot to all those who approach this franchise : the last church, this is one of my favorite videos on warhammer 40k, it is a video that lasts a long time, but I recommend it
This is not just a fan made, it`s singlefan made
Plasma weapons are highly unstable.
The other members of the squad appear on the other plinths in the background. Check out 12:28 on the right then left then other columns.
The dialogue between the balls goes something like this.
"Our escape, I have failed brother"
"We have all failed. The astartes deny our touch. You must return, break your seal."
"Impossible we'll never survive"
"You must. Take them"
“They don’t even flinch”….. any aspirant that flinches never becomes a Space Marine.
Good catch on the service studs. Not many people notice those.
I once saw in a lore video that if a 100 of this guys were sent to the actual earth for conquering, it would be considered as an overkill
A wee bit different from Raynor, Tychus and the bunch, huh? ;D
ok that ambush guy with the big ass gun (the one in the shadows) was snuck up on by the astartes.
if you look at the area around the gun, the astartes that ended that ambush gets illuminated by that rifle blast before ending him.
I never get tired of people reacting to this art.
one thing about the holy bolter(standard firearm of the astartes) they are not only big maschiene guns . they aren automatic weapoms with cal.75 and shoots selfpropelled rounds with an diamant tip that explodes inside the enemy^^ automatic small rocket launchers^^

If you watch the end it's hard to see but there are several little flashes around the Marine. Those are his squad mates getting transported through the Warp as well.
There is a video explaining everything in this video, if you are a little confused after watching this.
Beginner friendly lore.
If you frame by frame after he was teleported, you can see tiny flashes on the other pillars of the other space marines popping in on those ones.
6:15 I hear what you did there.... "Is that an egg?" _plop_
You ask if they hit a single one and I'd like to point out that 10 seconds earlier we saw the guy with the big rifle ambush the astartes and hit one in the shoulder which glanced off harmlessly.
More new Astartes reactions are always welcomed.

Where there is only WAR
you should check out The Death of Hope and its two trailers
No one has a "chance" when Space Marines Board your ship or land on your planet.
Adeptus Ridiculous Podcast is you want a break down of the different aspects. Bricky basically teaches a new fan (DK) the lore.
It took him a year to make each one. 5 years in total
they are space marines they are engineered to be the immortal emperors right hand
and all this was made by only one guy and that's absolutly mind blowing
You should also watch the Horus Heresy cinematic trailer if you haven't already. It's short (only 2.10 minutes long) but really well made.
Another thing the armor didnt take No damage
in fact in the next scene you can see the damage on the armor as little circles on the armor
I know this is 10 days later but Its real fuckin cool
Check out the grey knights by luetin specialy the battle on luna Magnus the Red vs Guilliman.
Insane story, Guilliman wakes up and immediately books it for Terra. Legion of the Damned show up, Dark Eldar, Chaos, Eldar. Then cap it off with a primarch battle.
40k is the definition of Grimdark Future 🤣
Man you gotta look up some lore on the space marines and their Primarchs. That armor they wear could eat tank rounds. Gotta remember the average space marine is like 8-9 feet tall and that weapon they're using is firing explosive rounds big enough to break a normal humans arm on the recoil. That's why when he fired down the hallway it was just red mist left when it impacted. True bad asses that make SC marines look like chumps.
Arch has a possible explanation on his channel.
Yeah, its a great project. Made by one person. Too bad GW felt threatened by a fan made video...
8:45 is he really saying "C4"? didnt he know that hes watching Warhammer 40k?
If you like the warhammer stuff, check out Hellsreach by Richard Boylan. truly awesome stuff.
Probably a daemon of change
They are the OG's that the StarCraft troopers were based on and originally supposed to be but there was a disagreement, in a fight between a StarCraft trooper and an Astartes an Astartes would 99.9% of the time as their armour is tougher and their weapons are better.
When you will watch Bricky video?... PS there is extended ending of the movie with ORC's and Tyrandis fight (you can look for it on YT).
And the creator has gone off to work for Games Workshop I believe
You know about Bricky's "Every Faction" video which is very good.

I also recommend Richard Boylan's animation of the novel Helsreach.

If he would succeed the Marine wouldnt stand a chance to survive that.)
What those Psykers do is basicly space magic connected to the warp, a hell dimension where they take power to use it.
The two sphere have a dialogue and he is listening and what he hears lets him call out to the (probably) captain of the Astartes who is their commander on that ship, to "retrieve them immediately"
Here the dialog:
Spiked sphere: Who's here?
I would suggest to watch Armouring of a space marine. And If you want to invest time in a cool series Helsreach
Dude, you gotta watch Helsreach.
Fan project all made by one guy.
"The humans are so much more interesting than in every other setting."
Imperial Guard: We'll change your mind about that.
I can advice for you to watch Bricky`s Every Faction if WH40k
10:30
React to Helsreach by Richard Broylan
In warhammer 40k those powers are named psychic powers not psionic powers like in Dnd who called them psionic powers to don't by a copy to evident of psychic powers from warhammer 40k becose if that has happend Games Workshop have destroyd the complany of Dnd becose Games Workshop is too protective to their content, and anather fact is psychic powers are more or less the same thing with magic and the the stience and magic are completing the empty spots of one each other instead to by the opposite of on each other.
funfact: 1 guy made all of it
Can you react to The Imperium's 10 Worst Jobs by Luetin09
It's time for another to see the enlightment of the Tau'va through Bricky's "Every Warhammer 40k Faction explained" videos.
- FOR THE GREATER GOOD!
I hate your shirt
Starcraft huh? You know its a 40k rip right?
The floating ball is widely seen to be a xenos race/artifact of some kind. As far as the ending goes its not so important to think of the why or where. It's more a counter weight to show that as awesome as Astartes can be, they are far from the biggest fish in the pond. The galaxy is filled with ancient warp touched evils and Emperor forsaken xenos.
How and why they act is beyond what any human should attempt to comprehend, those tainted by their machinations should swiftly be give the Emperors Mercy (battlefield execution)
Summary, even spacemarine get FKed by the warp and end up never being seen again. They do so with honour 😎
