For people wondering why they broke the cups at the beginning - broken glass aka cullet melts first which helps melt other ingredients that have a higher melting point.
Thanks for the information.
No that's just decrease the volume occupied by the cups
Massive respect to these workers. Aside its not easy, the room temperature is so freaking hot too 😢
😮
Exactly you are right😢
yeah I remember what it was like working in a metal extrusion factory. ours was really old school and half of the year it was 100 degrees fahrenheit and in certain work areas 130.

We all take the "simple" things like cups for granted. So much human effort goes into creating a simple glass cup.
Their hard work and experience is more valuable than the price of the cups.
You do realize the only person working here is the guy poring a glob and the guy smashing the old pieces... right?
those are like $1 cups

Massive respect to these guys, that's not an easy job. You guys rock
You talk like they're steelworkers or something. 😂😂😂
Working with melted glass is still really difficult and impressive though.
@@slappy8941 Do you think roadworks is any easier? My husband is in roadworks and he has seen a lot. And that is big coming from the fact that we live on a small island in the Mediterranean sea. Even my husband had a couple close calls.

Respect to anyone who works for a living but this is factory work. Not much skill.
You can teach anyone in a day how to run a section of the line

I would love to buy some of those. It reminds me of antique milk glass. Very pretty made with hard work.

I like how they just shattered old cups to make new ones.
Yeah. They are probably damaged ones that can't be used or sold

I can't even imagine standing in that much heat for a minute..the probability of broken glass flames get into nose and lungs is really high. They must follow all precautions. Hats of to those who are working there passionately.
If you do not enter the religion of Islam, you will enter a much hotter fire, but if you enter this wonderful religion, you will enter Paradise, God willing.
@@user-ey9rb2oh2hWhat an ignorant statement. Do everyone in Islam go to heaven? Don't you see the evil and torture in Islamic countries? I think you are an angel. Islam is a religion of tolerance, you cannot say such a thing to anyone.
@@user-ey9rb2oh2h This is not the place for this 💀
Surely you convince him to join your murderous religion by threatening him like this 😂😂😂 👎
@@user-ey9rb2oh2h Are you tired of promoting your religion? There is no compulsion in religion. Sura 2:256. There is no compulsion to believe [Islam]. Why should a person who was good in life and did not harm anyone, but did not accept Islam, burn in fire? Crap. It may seem paradoxical, but your religion includes terrorists and people who believe that it is okay to humiliate women. Can you shut up and live on your own without having your religion forced on you?

-Have you washed the dishes yet?
-Yeah mom
That's a lot of hard work...😮
Glass is the ultimate recyclable.
Wouldn't that be metal? I thought glass loses strength each time it's recycled.
@@EJM1224 nope, it doesn't lose any qualities by being recycled indefinitely. Same goes to metals
@@EJM1224Since glass is made from sand, there is no problem no matter how much it is recycled.
@@EJM1224plastic does but both metal and glass are infinitely recyclable. The problem is throwing away metal and glass instead of recycling. They are not renewable resources.

To the people being whatever nationality they are from the cups are made of glass the broken pieces are called cullet.
And it helps bring down the fusion point of raw glass to a lower temperature.

A little trivia. This is a cup factory in the northern side of south Korea, basically the southern part of North Korea. Anyways, preschool and kindergarten schools would visit this place in one of their yearly field trips. Kids get to learn and experience first hand in smashing, and melting the mugs and mold them into cups.
Beautiful and difficult work!
