Those are small for mormon crickets. They are usually twice that big. They have been so thick at times that they have caused car wrecks. They would get run over and their remains would make an oil slick type situation.

They look delicious! I first saw one in 2008 or 2009 near Wenatchee. I almost brought it home because I wanted to eat it. In the end, I let him go before we left.

They getting bigger... saw them small and black 3 weeks or so ago. They're getting bigger and more red/brown over time
