I have tried one of those a couple of years ago, a friend had got one she was really pleased with it! I favour the Perterson Stroboclip, similar thing really but not polyphonic. I found myself getting confused by it, no idea why but eventually I found it irritating 😂. When we go to our holiday home (static caravan) I use either the Boss tuner app or another strobe app that I got fed up of before I got the Boss app 😂 It’s all down to personal preference really, we’re all different aren’t we!
@DarrellW_UK absolutely! Not heard of the Stroboclip, will go take a look. I’ve been using my Boos foot pedal but wanted a clip tuner. One of my students has the Polytune and I wanted to try it. I like how sensitive it is. I’d been using the Fender app which is great but not always as accurate as a tuner that pics up on vibration. I’m really happy with this one and no confusion from external noise 😊🎧
@@jobywaterguitartuition the Peterson one is renowned for being accurate, usually within 2 cents, 1 either way! I don’t know about that but I’ve never found myself thinking it’s not quite right.
I’ve had mine for around 2 years and very happy with it. I only ever use it in it’s most basic 1-string-at-a-time mode but it was still worth it for a reliable tuner that I can easily swap between my guitars
Great review, thanks! I've been using the Polytune for about a year and really like it. It's fast and accurate. Not cheap, but worth it. And the clip opens wide enough to fit on the headstock of a classical guitar which tends to be thicker.
I've had this PT Clip and the PT 3 pedal tuner for many years - the Polytune mode is not meant to be highly accurate - just as you state a quick reference and then quickly tune the strings that are out. As TC-E stats "Strum > Tune > Rock!" Strobe mode is very accurate and needle mode is less accurate - when gigging I use Poly mode and needle mode. When setting intonation I use strobe mode. This is a great tuner - 3 items I would improve are 1. USB charging - no battery 2. Sweeten Tuning options 3. Better scratch-resistant display.
Cheers for sharing this. I agree re strobe mode. Having had it for a bit now I actually really rate strobe mode. Good to hear how you use it. I was looking at getting the pedal tuner next 😊
I find most headstock tuners break quite quickly. Snarks seem to be one of the worst. Not polytunes though. I have three and they are all quite old and still going strong. I don't find the polytune function that useful for me so I bought a Unitune recently and it does everything I want for a fair be less money. One thing I have found with all headstock tuners: They are not ideal for setting intonation on electric guitars. Sometimes they work but I suspect there are resonant frequencies generated at the headstock end when fretting at twelfth fret that muddy the signal.
Cheers for sharing this. Really informative re setting e guitar intonation. Thanks. On another note, I saw the unitune and suspected it may be the way to go. Thanks for confirming 😊
How's Jo First Things First ☕🥐 looks Ok & a good tuner. Just hope it doesn't turn out like the Snark & ruins your guitar 🎸 i have a Gibson les Paul . NOT AN EXPENSIVE ONE .Got a snark first thing in the instructions Not To Be Used on Gibson Guitars Apparently it ruins the lacquer. Hope that doesn't happen with Yours.Luv Ya Stuff.Take Care .👍®️
Ay up! 👋 No! Really? That’s rubbish. Cheers for that. I’m sure people generally wouldn’t even think of that. I mostly use a plug pedal tuner but will def keep an eye open for any dodgy headstock goings on with the clip. Take care 😊👍
Jo Your Definitely More Qualified than I am if you don't believe me buy a Snark and read the instructions.headstock tuners are not good for certain makes of guitars .Hope Santa Brings You Something Nice.Take Care 👍®️

@DarrellW_UK nice! I’ve just had a nosey. That’s a really smart looking tuner! Maybe one of those next 😃
@ Oops, have I caused GAS 🤣
Hi Jo, I just got one of these based on this video- I love it! Thanks for the recommendation.
Hiya Jeff, great! Glad you like it 👍😊 I’m still loving mine too

I’ve still got the first one I bought in 2013. I’ve got 4 now.
😆 brilliant! Which 4 do you have?
I was looking at getting the stomp one
seems like a worth while device.
Definitely is so far!

@rob55mn93 I’m really glad you shared that info. I genuinely didn’t know. Nice one 👌😊
@jobywaterguitartuition I've seen videos of Snark Attacks as there called (stupid I know).❓ but if you've a lovely guitar not nice 👍®️
@rob55mn93 😂 (snark attack) not at all. I’d be absolutely gutted 👌
