    People fight more with their neighbors than with far distant nations.

      Yes whoever is nearest is liable to be the first target of powerful people, then they target more as their reach becomes further! I had initially done commentary with this video, then I got to nervous and only uploaded the video without the commentary. I need to work on my anxiety around speaking outloud in the future! :)

    I actually thought about this clip a few days back. A random thought a few days ago when I was thinking about this podcast. I've seen the entire podcast back then and this was the exact excerpt that blew me away.

      I loved this episode too, all Neil deGrasse Tysons episodes are so interesting! They've taken a lot of the older, good episodes off TH-cam now sadly (like the Robert Schoch episode) :c I'm not sure how I feel about the Spotify move. I don't use Spotify, and it just seems a little bit bad taste to take something so incredible and make it exclusive to people who can use spotify (a lot of older people who watch the podcast, like my grandparents, exclusively use TH-cam and wouldn't know where to start with Spotify!). I rarely see the name Manu on TH-cam by the way, my real name is Manumelita (the first part is Maori, and the second part named after the navy ship HMS Melita). Is your TH-cam name from the Maori version of the word, or from some other language? Thanks so much for your comment! :)

      @@Vexarax thing is the spotify move barely affects the current generation, but I do agree the older generation is getting a hard time through all the tech mambo-jumbos. I do also remember that Rogan was so annoyed because the gentleman always talks over him. But I think its due to his enthusiasm about the topic, I know people who are like that. So passionate about the subject that they are unaware. Yeap, Manu is my nickname, taken from emMANUel :). Nice to meet you!

      @@itpugil - The thing that's sad about Spotify for me is the lack of comments! I always love being able to discuss ideas and theories and to read other people's opinions after listening to a podcast, so I hope they introduce a comment section on Spotify eventually - Discussion is part of the fun for me and I often find I learn a lot from comments! Because of that I haven't started listening to Rogan's podcasts on Spotify yet and have just been re-listening to old ones on TH-cam for now. One of my favourite episodes is where Graham Hancock and Randall Carson debate Michael Shermer and a geologist whose name I forget. Debates are so great because you get hear entirely different opinions regarding the same concepts which is very interesting :D And haha yeah Rogan's guests often do talk over him but as long as it's civil he doesnt seem to mind too much. Unlike when he gets in huge arguments like with Crowder over marijuana then he gets super mad if his guest talks over him, always very entertaining :D and that's a cool way to come up with the name Manu! I rarely see it used so it's always refreshing to see it ^_^

      @@Vexarax I agree with the spotify comments section thing, but that is a double-edged sword if I've ever seen one. TH-cam comments section is incredibly toxic at times, though I agree that it is great to participate in public discourse especially in politics so you won't get misrepresented but there are people out there who put feelings first over facts. In fact I got into an argument the other day and the person exaggerated what I said so he/she can put me in a box so it'd be easy to attack me. Unfortunately I too failed to conduct it properly and participated in the ad hominems. Which was barely productive. I did try to reason but the person wouldn't have it and has his/her own interpretation far from what I meant. Lesson learned right there. He also got riled up with Candace Owens and Milo, also a bit with Adam Conover. People don't give Joe enough credit for actually being smart. That's what you actually get from talking to people who make it their business to know certain topics. From what I remember he was drunk when he debated Crowder, that was funny as heck! I also love his Bob Lazar podcasts, and people from all over the political spectrum, because I realized that we are not completely right or left wing. We are a buffet of social and political ideas, we just lean on more what our values dictate.

    I don't believe in aliens of Hollywood. To me aliens are a modern word for demons and angels.

    • @Vexarax
      @Vexarax  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe in life out there in the universe because I think it would be impossible for life not to exist within something so vast. That's not to say the life is anything even remotely like us, or like anything of Earth though. I just find it impossible to try to comprehend the idea of there not being life out there. I sometimes wonder if demons and angels (our modern idea of them) come from other dimensions? I do have some theories, but won't make myself sound like a weirdo by going into those theories here!! ^_^

      @@ChristianProtossDragoon - I just think there's a chance there were civilizations here for much longer than current archaeological theories suggest, and maybe these much earlier, forgotten civilizations opened gateways (or something) to dimensions that let some dark things through. Now that they're gone, we can't close those gateways they opened. Which is why in some parts of the world there is endless turmoil and strife, like no matter what happens the people there cannot escape it. Heck there are some places that just seem to have darkness attached to them for all of recorded history. Just a theory though :) (ps holy heck can't believe it's been 6 days since your comment! where did the time go???)

    What I cant wrap my head around is the fact that we have a monetary system. We enslaved ourselves by limiting ourselves to just that. Gold and silver for goods. But only in a perfect world would we work together to be able to have what we need without acquiring some fake currency.

    • @Vexarax
      @Vexarax  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It reminds me of the proverb 'When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realise that we cannot eat money'. My uncle always says that one should buy up gold and store it, because when the computers go out our currency will be worthless. But if an apocalypse were to happen, societal collapse, or any such thing, when people are starving and desperate and scared, someone's horded gold will mean nothing, because people cannot eat gold. Thank you for your comment! :)

      Human nature would be the same without currency. People would get back at judging if a kg of fish is worth the same as a kg of beef and this exchange would become "natural currency" as in the exchange rate of beef over chicken. Currency in the form of a monetary system fixes more problems than it creates.
      But I see your point. I understand why you say that.

    I think maybe aliens would only get along with those they considerd too dangerous to mistreat. 🤔

    • @Vexarax
      @Vexarax  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good point!
      A lot of the time I notice some people (like Jo Rogan in this clip and Stephen Hawking too) seem to automatically assums aliens would automayically enslave humans, or kill us all, because we assume they would be just like us. But I sometimes think...maybe they're completely different from us and would be genuinely interested to interact with us, but they can also see that as a species we are more prone to freaking out and starting a war initially than remaining calm and rational :o Because of that, they may want to avoid interacting with us knowing we'd probably just end up hurting ourselves in our attempts to needlessly fight them! I had actually recorded a full commentary with this video which gave my own opinions but I got too shy to upload it so ended up cutting it out :c
      I have two more narrations recorded that I just have to add subtitles to before uploading, and am working on a huge historical video as well, so hopefully I'll have more content soon :D
