It’s also depended upon the dogs natural nature, being a specific breed or anything else that might contribute to a dogs behaviour not just how you train them.
Some dogs are just meant to be guarding dogs. If it's owner is at any sight of danger a dog won't hold back. As for example if a Cane Corso senses any danger to it's beloved one even if the threat is a family member of the owner the cane Corso will do what is necessary

2.Dogo Argentino (A large White muscular dog used for illegal dog fights)
3.Rottweiler(Large dog used for fights)
4.Tosa Inu(Used for illegal blood fights)
5.Pitbull(a muscular usually grey dog used for dog fighting)

Pit bull terriers are the sweetest dogs on the planet. I had one and he never bit anyone, never even tried to hurt a fly, and was a couch potato all his life.

Even with sweetness, comes sour! A dog is still an animal, and animals are unpredictable. My dog never bit anybody, but when my neighbors dog spooked him, they got into a pretty bad fight. My dog is a Great Dane, and they are known for being gentle giants. I know if your dog got spooked, it would get right into protection mode. Btw this is not a hate comment :)

I had a job where I ran across dog fighting a lot and itvwas all pits. Then 1 day I ran across 2 of them. 1 was a pure bred pit bull the other a stafordshire. Both insanely strong from what I came to find out in time. I was very cautious around them but in time they became some of my best friends. Without question thry were heavy heavy blankets because they would crawl up on me and lay down like I was a dog bed. I was looking down at him and his powerful head and knew all that thry were used for but never once have I seen them like I did those days. Absolutely happy, peaceful, loving, and playtime was all the time. Man it was easy to scratch up a game with them. They changed my mind and became a part of my life. Amazing friends.
