You poor lady. This makes me so sad. You remind me of my mum, she's going through the same thing at the Village she's in. It breaks my heart and I feel helpless.

The power imbalance between resident and management is huge, and rarely acknowledged. Once locked in with an ORA, staff and management become your world. They can make or break you. The anxiety of having your experiences questioned (as though you are a child) is extreme. Racing heart, dry mouth, and often no third person in the room - so no corroboration either! It is very lonely and frightening to be left without tangible support.

Government has to change the legislation regarding retirement villages, villages can be very good for residents, but if you get a bad manager then your world can change drastically, they tend to forget that they are employees of you the residents, if you weren't there then they wouldn't have a job.

Are all these bullied seniors from the same retirement home? Shame on the disgusting practices and elder abuse!!!
